Chapter 1380: Chapter 1380: Really?

Sophie turned her little head to look at Charles Seymour, her eyes filled with affection for her father.

"Mom is always preparing food for you. If she eats later, it will get cold. At your age, you need to be sensible, understand?" As Charles Seymour scolded Sophie, everyone at the table froze and looked at Charles.

Yet, as the focal point for everyone, Charles was completely unaware, and continued speaking on his own: "You need to care for Mom, understand?"

"Mm." Sophie was indeed obedient and nodded earnestly.

Charles nodded with satisfaction, feeding the peeled shrimp into Sophie’s mouth, then placed another into her small bowl: "Learn to peel it yourself."

"Okay." Sophie obediently followed the instructions, realizing a spoon wouldn’t work, and as she hesitated, she heard Charles say, "Use your hands, you can wipe them later."

Sophie was truly obedient, using her small hands to slowly peel the shrimp.

"Learn to gradually use chopsticks to peel them in the future." Charles Seymour was meticulous when it came to teaching his son.

Boys, naturally, need to be raised with some strictness. They’ll grow up, move out sooner, so they won’t be an eyesore competing with him for Sophie.

And then everyone at the table watched Sophie as she painstakingly peeled the shrimp by herself.

Old Mr. Seymour watched Charles with contented eyes. Ever since he was with Sophie, Charles had increasingly become more like a normal person.

Of course, to Charles, no one was more important than Sophie, even the son takes a back seat.

However, it didn’t matter, as long as Charles had normal emotions, that’s enough.

Before he met Sophie, his grandson had lived a very difficult life.

The brief "little episode" naturally did not affect everyone’s good mood, instead, it made the dining table atmosphere even better.

After finishing the meal, Jerry Taylor walked outside and spoke with Charles Seymour: "Recently, you and Sophie need to be a little more careful."

Charles glanced at Jerry and replied: "Those useless fools."

Without even asking, Charles knew what Jerry referred to—there was only that illegal company tied to him and Sophie.

Just some loose ends, how could they be so bothersome?

"They are involved in some dealings with influential figures," Jerry sighed.

It’s not even like the old times, when the illegal organizations had some boundaries.

Foreign figures who hold power and influence can’t do without their drugs, so isn’t that just being exploited by them?

If this infiltration continues, things will get troublesome.

"Haven’t they destroyed their base yet?" Charles frowned and asked.

"They are actively searching, but haven’t found it," Jerry added, "It’s not just our country’s people looking."

Charles nodded slightly, knowing this kind of thing wouldn’t just be of concern to their own country, especially since the international community was suffering more.

"Even though these are just loose ends and not the core figures of the past, you should still be cautious," Jerry cautioned.

Of course, he’d prefer not to discuss these matters with Sophie. After all, Sophie was a woman, so he told Charles to handle these affairs.

Whether Charles shared this with Sophie was his own decision.

Once Jerry, intending to return to the room, suddenly heard Charles blandly ask behind him: "Uncle, are you really just a technical staff?"

Jerry stopped, turning to look at Charles Seymour.
