Chapter 1381: Chapter 1381: Thoughtless Consideration

"I am also part of that system," Jerry Taylor said with a smile.

His meaning was clear, that he was also a member of the confidential system, and knowing some news was normal.

"Chairman Cole surely knows too, but as family, I’m more concerned about you all, and I just want to remind you." Jerry’s reasoning was certainly valid, but such talk might fool others; Charles Seymour was not buying it.

Of course, Charles did not argue with Jerry but looked at him as usual.

Charles’s profound gaze seemed to see through everything; if it were someone other than Jerry, they might already feel uncomfortable avoiding his eyes.

"I also researched that illegal company back then. When I was outside, I would engage with all sorts of things," Jerry said, "You don’t have to think about what I did; whatever it was is past, right now I’m just a technically skilled individual in the open."

Charles nodded slightly: "Yes, I believe Uncle has skills. However, Uncle’s composure has already told me quite a bit."

With that, Charles bypassed Jerry and entered the private room, completely ignoring the flash in Jerry’s eyes.

The soft sound of the private room door closing brought Jerry back to reality, and he couldn’t help but mutter a low curse: "This brat!"

Too meticulous, able to deduce so much from such small details.

His past identity... there’s really nothing much to say, it’s all in the past now.

"Jerry?" Emma Wells came out of the private room, calling out to him, "Everyone’s leaving."

"Coming," Jerry responded and went inside to put on his coat.

On the way back, Sophie Wilson cuddled the sleepy Baoer, leaning against Charles’s embrace.

"I feel like Uncle and Auntie’s wedding should be soon," Sophie said with a chuckle, "Uncle finally found his other half, that’s wonderful."

Uncle has certainly been unlucky in this life.

Encountered such a spouse.

Sure, even though Uncle used her to conceal his identity, but hearing the news of his newborn child passing away must have made Uncle grieve for a long time.

Thankfully, everything later became clear, and that scar could finally be erased from Uncle’s heart.

"Kai plans to get married in October next year; I think Uncle and Auntie might hurry it in spring," Charles stated confident.

"Yes, sounds like something Uncle would do," Sophie laughed, playing with Baoer’s chubby little hand, "He wants Lucy to be married with both parents present."

Uncle ultimately feels he owes a lot to Lucy.

This can’t be denied as fate’s mischief.

Thankfully, Lucy’s family is understanding, and the outcome is still good.

"Uncle and his family have certainly found happiness after hardships," Sophie mused, but didn’t hear Charles speak, looking at him curiously, she asked, "What’s wrong with you?"

"Thinking about what gift to give Uncle and Aunt for their wedding," Charles casually found an excuse, his attention entirely on Sophie’s hands.

In the past, when Sophie leaned against him, she’d hold his hand.

His dedicated spot for hands had actually been taken over by a chubby little hand.

Indeed, back then his impulsive act of having a child truly wasn’t well thought-out!
