Chapter 208: Taboo Realm

Liam stared at William silently before finally speaking.

"I say, buddy, aren’t you going too far? Let’s not talk about whether I can get into the top five or not, but making me eat dogshit because you were caught talking about another woman behind your wife’s back—why do I have to take punishment for that?"

William stepped forward and patted Liam’s shoulder, speaking in a sincere tone.

"It’s naturally because we are good friends. If nothing goes wrong, once Vivian returns, I’ll be sleeping on the floor and won’t get anything to eat for an entire month. Since I will become a starving ghost, I just want to make sure my close friend eats his fill. Seeing you eat dogshit, despite not being able to eat for a month, I won’t feel hungry, as my hunger will die seeing you eat something odd."

Liam opened his mouth to say something upon hearing William, but no words came out of his mouth.

Even with his excellent mind, he really couldn’t understand such a twisted logic of killing hunger.

In the end, he just sighed and decided not to think too much about it, or he might just end up killing a certain person named William.

Taking a deep breath, Liam’s expression turned serious, and he spoke in a low voice.

"You threw all the matters of the faction onto me over the last two days and didn’t come to handle anything yourself. My young body really can’t handle all this strenuous work."

William listened to Liam’s words calmly before opening his mouth.

"One defense-type battle art. You can redeem it after going back."

"Yes, Captain." Liam’s face immediately bloomed upon hearing William, and the previous complaining expression on his face disappeared.

"By the way, I was planning to give you a few more tasks about our faction. But since you are already overwhelmed by the current ones..." William suddenly spoke and shook his head.

"It’s just a pity. I was planning to give you fifty academic credits as rewards for those tasks. But since you are busy with other things, I will have to give these tasks and credits to someone—"

"I am free." Before William could finish speaking, Liam shouted and looked at him with a serious expression.

"Everything related to the faction is extremely important. If you ask other people to handle its work and they don’t do it perfectly, it will affect all of us in the future..." Liam patted his chest and looked at William resolutely.

"Although I am already tired, I won’t shrink back from my responsibilities towards the faction. You can ravage my body with rewards... I mean, just give me more tasks. I can handle all of them."

William stared at Liam expressionlessly, as he had already expected this guy to perk up the instant he heard about rewards.

William didn’t tease him or anything and simply threw a storage ring at him.

"There are some battle arts, cultivation techniques, and gold bricks worth over five thousand gold coins inside. I want you to create a basic framework for our faction about how to distribute rewards based on work. You can use these things to get started..." He said and sat down on a chair.

"I know it won’t be easy for you to handle this thing since you have no experience about this matter. So you can ask Alicia for help. She is well-versed in these matters. Also, include Sophia as well while creating a draft. She is good with these kinds of work."

William pointed at the storage ring he had handed over.

"If Sophia’s suggestions are useful, you can hand over this storage ring to her after putting away those cultivation techniques and other items."

Liam listened to William’s words and raised an eyebrow.

"I can understand Alicia, but why that girl Sophia? I know she has a Rare Grade healing-type Trait, but she did not show any talent in management yet, right?"

William smiled slightly and shook his head.

"You will understand once you discuss the matter of the framework with her."

As he spoke, William stretched slightly and asked.

"By the way, nothing significant happened in the last two days, right?"

William was busy with Norman’s training for the last two days, so he threw all the work related to the faction on Liam. ℴℴ𝘮

So he did not know how much progress it had made in the last two days.

"Just as you said, there were actually more people who applied to join our faction in the last two days." Liam took out a list from his storage ring.

This storage ring was something that William had given him a few days ago.

He handed the list to William and explained.

"These are the people who applied in the last two days. But I did not recruit anyone, as I was waiting for you."

William nodded and looked at the list. He saw some familiar names on the list. These were the students from their own Class A.

Because of his memories from the original timeline, William was familiar with some of them and their characters.

"These four..." William marked the four names on the list. "You can allow them to join. As for the others, wait for me to return to the academy before I make a decision."

Liam took back the list, and seeing the four names he had marked, he did not ask anything and simply nodded.

"By the way, are you not coming to the academy tomorrow as well?"

William shook his head.

"Normal classes are not very useful to me. I have already asked Professor Norman. Unless there is something significant happening, I can skip classes and practice on my own."

"Lucky you..." Liam said in a voice filled with envy. "I also want to skip classes, but there are still many things I am unaware of about cultivation, so I can’t skip them."

William chuckled and sensed Liam’s aura.

"You are about to break through to the middle stage of Star Warrior, right?"

"Hmmm..." Liam nodded and smiled. "I successfully switched my cultivation technique to the one you had given me last night. Although I only grasped the starting part of it, its cultivation effect is way better than my previous technique."

"Good." William nodded and was about to instruct him about a few more things when he suddenly felt a heart-palpitating sense of fear, and goosebumps rose all over his body.

He stood from the chair with a start and looked around.

Liam was stunned by William’s reaction and looked at him in confusion.

But the next second, his eyes widened as he saw William’s body slowly fading away.

"William?" Liam hurriedly walked over to him. "What’s going on with you?"

William didn’t respond to Liam’s question, as his eyes were fixed on the notifications that had just flashed before his eyes.

(Your existence has triggered a Taboo)

(The Rules of the World are acting upon you)

(You are being sent to Taboo Realm...)

As he read the notifications, William saw his body turn Illusory at speed visible to naked eyes and the next second, before he could even make a sound, he disappeared from the room.
