Chapter 1617: Handsome Guys and Beautiful Girls

Thomas Fisher and Alice Turner had just left the Civil Affairs Bureau when Alice got a call from Lily Turner. After picking up the phone, she heard her little sister’s joyful voice, "Sis! Is the marriage certificate ready? I’m waiting for you at Mom’s place. Once you and my brother-in-law have wrapped up everything, hurry back."

Alice Turner went back home to grab the household register, and naturally, Sophia Wood found out about her and Thomas Fisher’s plan to get the certificate. Sophia was overjoyed.

Alice had just walked away with the register when she reported the good news to Christopher Turner and Lily.

Christopher Turner had business at his company and couldn’t return home quickly, but he promised over the phone to be back to celebrate in the evening.

Lily, however, immediately took leave from school, drove hurriedly to her parents’ house, and repeatedly confirmed the news with Sophia. Once she was absolutely sure it was true, she took out her phone and dialed Alice’s number.

"We’ve just come out of the registration hall and will be home shortly." Over the phone, Alice could sense the joy from her little sister, and her own face beamed with a radiant smile.

"Mom and I will wait for you and my brother-in-law at home."

Without waiting for Alice’s response, Lily promptly hung up the phone.

The news was too delightful, too blissful, she had to tell her husband right away.

As soon as she hung up on Alice, Lily immediately dialed Easton Holmes. After just two rings, Easton picked up.

"Darling! Someone’s inviting me for dinner tonight, so I won’t..."

"Is it a man or a woman?"

Before Lily could finish, Easton interrupted her without hesitation.

This guy! When will he stop being so possessive?

Lily inwardly rolled her eyes and pouted, saying, "There’s a handsome guy and a beautiful lady."

She intended to say it was a man and a woman, but mischievously twisted it to a handsome guy and a beautiful lady, even making her tone lighter when she mentioned the handsome guy.

"You can’t go!"

Upon hearing there was a guy, and a handsome one at that, Easton didn’t even think twice before forbidding Lily from going, his tone and attitude firm and assertive.

In her heart, Lily huffed exasperatedly, but outwardly remained calm, "Why can’t I go? I already promised them, and we’re discussing it right now..."

"There’s no discussion about this. Send me your current location; I’m coming to pick you up right now." Easton once again interrupted Lily in a domineering and assertive manner,

Upon hearing this, Lily laughed in frustration and rolled her eyes at the wall, "My current location is at your mother-in-law’s house. The people inviting me for dinner are my sister and brother-in-law. If you want to come and freeload, remember to prepare a big fat red envelope, otherwise, you’ll be drinking cold water."

After speaking, she didn’t care what reaction he might have on the other end and hung up the phone stylishly.

Sophia had been sitting nearby, overhearing the conversation between Lily and Easton. Seeing her youngest daughter and son-in-law still so lovey-dovey after years of marriage filled her with immense satisfaction.

"Our house will be so lively today. Call Easton back, tell him to bring the kids when he comes." With such a big family celebration, having everyone at home makes it happier and more bustling.

"I won’t call him; you can if you want." Lily bluntly refused without any hesitation.
