Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1504: I Will Do My Best to Win Her Back
"She has already agreed to Thomas’s proposal."
Benjamin Shaw didn’t plan to hide the current situation from his father, Alexander Shaw, and told him outright.
The news Alexander received from Benjamin’s assistant was that Alice Turner had just returned to the country not long ago, and both Thomas Fisher and Benjamin Shaw were looking for opportunities to cooperate with her company. As for the matters of the heart, Alexander didn’t know much.
Having just returned to the country, he thought the three were focusing on business cooperation, not yet dealing with emotional matters.
But to hear such news today was beyond Alexander’s expectations. He never imagined that Thomas had managed to woo back Alice so quickly, nor did he expect Alice to agree to Thomas’s marriage proposal so swiftly.
With rivals moving so fast, what on earth was his son still dawdling with?
If he keeps dawdling like this, others will already be married with kids.
"Thomas proposed to Alice so quickly, what have you been doing these days? Just watching others flaunt their romance?" Alexander looked at his son with a look of frustration.
When Benjamin first learned about Thomas’s successful proposal to Alice, he was also incredibly shocked.
He hadn’t expected their progress to be so fast, so fast that it seemed unbelievable.
"I will do my best to win her back."
Now Benjamin didn’t know how to regret, but what use was regret? Regret couldn’t bring back Alice nor could it return him to the time five years ago when they hadn’t divorced.
Alexander glanced at his son and saw deep remorse and desolation in his eyes.
He wanted to scold his son but swallowed the words when he saw Benjamin’s expression.
"Dad supports you in winning back Alice. Alice is a good girl worth pursuing with all your efforts." Alexander had seen Alice’s excellence five years ago, very clearly.
Back then, he advised his son to cherish the girl, but his son treated his father’s words as mere wind, making Alexander both angry and anxious.
If it were five years ago, Benjamin would surely have angrily rebuked Alexander, but today, instead of showing any signs of anger, he sincerely nodded at his father, "I will give it my all."
He had already missed and taken for granted once; this time, he didn’t want to miss or take for granted again.
No matter the final outcome, he would strive for himself, so as not to leave any regrets in his life.
"Go for it!"
Alexander leaned in to pat his son’s shoulder, encouraging him.
Benjamin tilted his head to smile at his father, appreciating his understanding and strong support.
As the two exchanged warmly, the discordant ringtone of a phone suddenly rang.
Alexander raised his hand holding the phone and glanced at it. As he guessed, it was a call from his wife, Isla Lane.
"Your mom’s calling,"
Alexander said to Benjamin before answering the call.
"Why haven’t you come back yet? How far have you gone?"
Having waited at home a long time without Alexander returning, Isla was truly anxious. Before Alexander could speak, she eagerly voiced her concerns.
Isla’s urgency was felt through the call, yet Alexander remained calm and unhurried, "I’m with Benjamin now. I know about what you mentioned."
