Raising Yanderes to save the world
Chapter 339: Ch 338: The God is Dead
Leon came back with the dungeon core, and Kael quickly used it to reinforce his body. He could feel that he was getting stronger, and he could process more information from the dungeon’s lifeline.
But it was far from enough.
"So, did you find out what is happening here? Any little bit of information will help."
Leon pointed this out, and Kael nodded. He tried to feel for the information again, but he was blocked by his body’s limitations.
Still, not everything had gone wrong. Kael could still feel the energy buzzing through his body, giving him bits and pieces of information.
"I do have a little bit of information to share. Let’s head back now. I will make the dungeon collapse."
Kael used his power, and the dungeon started to shake. Since this one was larger than the previous one, it required a little more power.
But in the end, it was child’s play for someone like Kael to make the dungeon disappear for good.
The humans who were caught up in the dungeon returned as well, and they looked around with startled expressions on their faces. One second, they were fighting for their lives with even the system gone, and the next, they were safe once more.
Kael did feel sorry for them, but right now, he had more important things to worry about.
Like the information he had been able to find when he tried to look for it.
...
"Someone, kill me now. Why the hell is there so much to do? Ahhh—"
Kael quickly grabbed Lyra before she could go through with her suggestion of killing Officer Tyson. She looked irritated, and she had good reason for behaving like this.
"Ugh, I understand that you are tired, but is that a reason to annoy us like this? Can’t you simply say what you have to and not repeat yourself?"
Lyra asked while calming down in Kael’s arms. But her irritated glance remained the same.
Officer Tyson took a deep breath after surviving her attack before he straightened his back and gave her a look.
"Ah, you are right. I should truly get back to the point. Anyway, we have managed to contain the situation for now and got a lot of people to sign the contract to cooperate with us through a fake threat. We are going to establish a task force to subdue those who want to cause chaos and have not signed a magical contract."
This contract had been Iris’s idea. It was based on her own gladiator contract but was not so strict. This one would just stop people from causing chaos and seal away their powers for a while if they caused trouble.
It could come across as restrictive, but it was a good way to maintain order.
The only problem was the people who refused to sign it because they were afraid of their ’freedom’ being taken away.
Sigh
"The work of an office worker never ends. Now I am even being made to run as a lapdog for the government. Anyway, tell me you have good news for me."
The officer looked at Kael with hopeful eyes, and Kael coughed into his fist before he answered.
"Well, I have... some good news at least. I was not able to figure out what is happening for now, but I think I might be able to if I am given enough time."
These words worked like a charm, and Officer Tyson let out a relieved sigh as soon as he heard them.
"That’s good. Any information you provide me is good. So, what have you discovered?"
Officer Tyson brought the cup of tea to his lips to drink when Kael dropped a bombshell on top of his head.
"Well, the god of this world is dead, and this system and dungeons are its body parts falling apart. The cores are the source of his mana that has penetrated this world. How and why this happened, I have no idea, but I can take a guess."
Kael theorised, only to be met with blank gazes from everyone around him.
"Are you serious? What the hell is this even about—"
Officer Tyson buried his face in his hands as he said those words. He could not bring himself to even guess what was happening. But Kael just sighed as he looked at him with a regretful expression.
"What I gathered from my small glimpse was that the order of this world had collapsed due to the higher power being missing. So unless we restore the balance, this will keep happening."
Kael pointed out, and Tyson cursed even louder.
"And how do we do that? Please tell me you have a solution for this problem."
He begged, and Kael nodded slowly.
"I do have a solution, but how successful it will be will depend on you and the rest of this world. Will you cooperate and see this world survive? Or see it perish?"
Officer Tyson suddenly looked like a puppy whose strings had been cut as he staggered.
"Ugh, I want to say humans will surely cooperate, but I know our species better than anyone. They will only move when they profit from it, and otherwise, will even see this world burn."
Tyson was not wrong. The humans in this world were incredibly selfish, to the point where they did not care about anyone or anything if it did not profit them. Their mentality was that if they could not have it, no one should be able to.
"Then the goal you should strive for is simple. Collect all the cores and uncover the truth of this world, right?"
Iris pointed out, and Officer Tyson sighed.
"You are right. This is what I should be looking into. And because of this, I have another request to make of you. Won’t you listen to me, please?"
The man begged, and Kael had a feeling he should say no. But he could not bring himself to turn this man away.
And thus, he allowed this man to make a request of him.
