Chapter 113: Ch 112: How to take a god down - Part 2

Aiden waited until the sun had completely disappeared before making his move.

He had already prepared everything he needed, and the system had given him a way to enter God Vital’s territory without alerting the guards.

The only problem was getting close enough to the god himself.

’Well, this is probably going to be the most dangerous thing I have done so far.’

Aiden looked at Goddess Apophis, who was quietly watching him.

’Aiden, I will not let anything happen to you.’

’I know. That is why I am taking you with me. But I would have preferred if you stayed back home.’

The goddess smiled at his words before wrapping herself around his arm. She had no intention of letting him go alone anyway.

With her divine presence hidden, the two of them quietly entered the enemy territory. And the first thing Aiden noticed was that the place was far less impressive than his own territory.

There were guards everywhere, but they were focused on the roads and outer walls.

Aiden did not bother them, and they did not bother him. For them, he was just an outside merchant here to do business.

His goal was God Vital.

And thanks to the information he had bought from the system, he already knew exactly where the god was.

They moved through the shadows until they reached the main temple, and Aiden stopped outside and looked toward the massive building. He needed to wait for the pillar of power to collapse before he could get inside.

’Alright. Time to see how strong this god really is.’

He stepped forward, and the moment he entered the temple, a powerful divine pressure descended upon him.

Aiden smiled.

God Vital had noticed him, but his presence was also weakening by the second. The god was about to lose his foothold and everything he held dear.

’Well, it was only a matter of time anyway.’

The servants rushed toward him as Aiden caused a small earthquake, but he quickly disposed of them.

He did not even need to kill them in order to progress, and soon he entered the main temple where God Vital was.

The god looked far weaker, and his aura was being suppressed by Goddess Apophis’s venom.

Not that the god knew that this was happening. And like a foolish person, he stood up and decided to challenge Aiden once more.

...

"So you see, this is how we were able to poison you with Goddess Apophis’s venom. Shhh, don’t try to get up now. The venom of an ancient goddess is too much for your fragile self to bear."

Aiden pushed the god down further with his foot, and he giggled while standing on top. His eyes sharply looked at the god in front of him, but they held no mercy.

The god also struggled against him, trying his best to get free. But it was of no use.

But the thing that shocked the god was not the fact that he was lying down, but the fact that his opponent was not a no-name goddess but an ancient one.

"How is that possible? There is no way she is an ancient goddess! She has none of the presence, nor does she-"

"Tsk, are you trying to say that you doubt my goddess’s authenticity? You can go ahead and do that. But before that, do you think you have the right?"

Aiden asked, his anger making his smile look twisted.

The god’s expression changed as he looked at Aiden. He finally understood that he had made a grave mistake by underestimating the person standing before him.

"You dare..."

"I dare quite a lot when it comes to protecting my goddess."

Aiden pressed his foot down harder, and God Vital groaned as the venom continued to spread through his body.

"Let’s see... You invaded our territory, threatened my goddess, and tried to take everything we built. Did you really think I would simply sit back and let you do whatever you wanted?"

God Vital gritted his teeth in anger and tried to pry Aiden’s foot off his back. But it was all of no use.

"You... you should have been preparing for the war. How did you even get here?"

"That is none of your concern. I am just returning the favor you gave us."

Aiden smiled as he crouched down.

"What matters is that you are now in a situation where you cannot fight back."

The god tried to gather his divinity, but the moment he did, his body trembled violently, but the venom was suppressing his divine power.

And without his power, he was no different from an ordinary person. Especially when they were in front of another god.

Ah, but Aiden was not a god. He was just borrowing the authority of one.

"Wait... if you kill me here, you will be breaking the rules."

Aiden raised an eyebrow.

"What rules?"

"The laws between gods! You cannot simply invade another god’s territory and kill them!"

Aiden chuckled.

"You seem to have forgotten something - that I am not new to this. Killing gods and taking over their territory is the unwritten rule, right?"

He leaned closer and whispered these words.

God Vital’s expression became ugly once he realized that his bluff was not working. Aiden knew far too much about what was happening.

Aiden stood up and looked down at him.

"You sent your people to attack us first. You threatened my territory and my goddess. And now you are lying on the floor, complaining about rules?"

The god remained silent.

Aiden’s smile slowly disappeared.

"I gave you a chance to end this peacefully, but you refused. Now, you have no excuse to say anything."

Goddess Apophis appeared on his shoulder, her eyes looking at the pitiful god in front of her without flinching.

Expecting pity from her was as useless as expecting it from Aiden at this point.

"Well, it’s time to say goodbye."
