Raising the Forgotten Snake Goddess with my Divine Faith System
Chapter 112: Ch 111: How to take a god down - Part 1
God Vital was enjoying his time on his throne, waiting for the time to pass so he could launch his attack. He was not in a hurry because he knew his victory was imminent.
Goddess Apophis was formidable and he had no doubt that she was a capable person. But he had not heard her name before which meant that she was a new god. There was no way she was going to have experience in fighting.
Moreover, he also knew that his army was crafty.
He was more than well-aware of the "tricks" they pulled from time-to-time where they decided to go against his words and attack the other god’s territory before the promised time.
God Vital knew this but he saw no point in stopping them on time.
After all, what the humans chose to do had nothing to do with him. It was not an approved attack and if it was discovered, he could label it as their own desire and threaten to punish those who were breaking the rules.
It was a win-win situation for everyone on his side and the other side could not say anything because he was not personally involved.
Of course, that was all after he sent his own forces to bring his people back after they caused this mess.
This was going to be the same. His priest had already left to bring the people back and it was only a matter of time before he heard back from them...
But hadn’t it been far too long already? The sun outside had started to set and there was no sign of his priest yet.
"Ah, it doesn’t matter. My priest must be resting today. I am sure he will be back soon."
God Vital confessed as he gestured for his other priests to start the feast. His chief priest could join him soon.
But the next day, his priest did not return. Instead, he heard the loud sounds outside which made him scoff. Some idiot was trying to cause trouble in his territory.
So he sent his priests to check, but even they did not return.
Once was a mistake, twice was a coincidence, but when it happened to the third batch, he decided that it was time to check what was happening himself.
"What kind of fool has decided to head into my territory today? Let me see the face of that fool as well."
God Vital stood up and headed toward his destination. But unfortunately, his path was blocked by someone else before he could make it out. And that someone else was none other than Aiden and his goddess.
"What are you doing here? Our fight is to take place tomorrow."
Their presence angered God Vital. He looked at the pair in front of him with so much anger that it looked like he was about to explode.
But it only served to make the pair look even more amused.
"What? You can pull off a surprise attack but now anyone else? Well then, shall we end things here?"
Aiden asked and God Vital exploded.
"What do you mean by surprise attack? I never did anything like this. You are the scoundrels trying to break the terms-"
"But we never agreed to the date of the attack. Your side is also the one who made the first move here. What else can be the problem here?"
Aiden asked which made God Vital look even sicker. He bit his lip before deciding that he was going to kill Aiden.
"Tsk, I don’t know nor do I care how you got here. But since you are here, you have fortified your life. I am going to kill you now."
Unfortunately, the second he tried that, he felt like his skin was being pricked by hundreds of needles. He looked at Aiden, only to see a smile on his face.
This man, he had clearly done something to him. But what?
"You...! What did you do to me?"
The god yelled, only to get a smile from Aiden.
"You want to know? Then I will tell you. After all, we do have some time on our hands."
...
It all started when Aiden started to plan how to get into God Vital’s territory.
Dealing with his people had been easy. They had walked into his trap and fallen a victim themselves. But a god was a different matter.
First, Aiden knew that he could not drag him out of the city, so he was going to have to find a way to end the god within the city itself.
Moreover, he needed to weaken God Vital before he could deal the final blow.
"Well, looks like we will have to pull some underhanded tactics. Sasha, do you want to take on this mission?"
Aiden asked while looking at the half-phoenix who looked shocked at Aiden was calling her out.
"You want me to help on this mission? Sure I will help. But what do I need to do?"
She asked curiously and Aiden handed her a small a vial filled with colorless liquid.
"I just need you to find a way to mix this into God Vitals’ good. I am sure the servants there won’t be too on-guard against a child like you. Once you do that, I can handle the rest from there."
Aiden promised and Sasha looked curious. She held the vial up before she looked at Aiden with full truth in her eyes.
"I understand. This must be one of the things we cannot openly talk about. I will go and do what I need to do now."
Sasha took on the mission without missing a single beat. She did not even hesitate as she headed out and Aiden decided to trust her to carry her part out.
Meanwhile, he had his own task to carry out. And this time, he needed to do this on his own.
The rest of his people were going to stay behind and defend this place in case of emergency while Aiden would go and deal with a whole other mess.
