Chapter 636 - 634: Shout a Few Times, and Your Brother Will Come Out
Chapter 636: Chapter 634: Shout a Few Times, and Your Brother Will Come Out
Back when they were in the Lower Realm, they always kept busy. Aside from their scheduled Cultivation sessions, they spent the rest of their time researching new products, so their days were quite fulfilling.
Now that they had arrived in the Upper Realm, they found themselves with too much time on their hands, and with their Lady and The Exalted One away. As natural-born workaholics, Elder Lawson and the others simply couldn’t stand being idle. And so, after sitting down for a discussion, they decided to pull off something big.
They might not have known how to invent something entirely new, but they could certainly replicate what they’d already made. Just like that, Elder Lawson and the others returned to their old trade in the Demonic Domain, carrying on the entrepreneurial spirit of the Bloodfiend Den from the Lower Realm to make their enterprise bigger and stronger.
Developing entirely new products could take several years, or even longer, with no guarantee of success. But since they were just replicating their previous work, as long as the core team was intact and they had enough materials, funding, and manpower, getting things up and running again would only take a month or two.
As it happened, they lacked none of those things.
They got right to work.
In just over a month, the Spiritual Network had been established across the Immortal and Demonic Realms.
Elder Lawson and his team created the Cultivation Edition 5.0 smartphone.
Then came short-form videos.
The phones also came pre-loaded with all sorts of novel casual games. There were also various apps, like Blade-Dash, Demonic Domain Express, and Demon Flame Short Video... The more mysterious these things were, the more they piqued people’s curiosity. Each of these novelties captured everyone’s attention.
Unsurprisingly, just like in the Lower Realm, the moment the phones went on sale, they took the entire Immortal and Demonic Realms by storm in just three short days. The cultivators of the Immortal Domain, in particular, swore they would never use something produced in the Demonic Domain. But their hands moved faster than their convictions.
And that wasn’t all. The night market they had set up a while ago had also been open for a few days. By now, it was packed to the gills every evening, and the Demonic Domain was raking in another fortune.
「That evening.」
Javier Sinclair strolled through the night market, holding his five-year-old daughter in one arm. Celeste Grant walked beside him, her hand linked through his arm.
As they looked around, the scene felt comfortingly familiar. It was as if they were back in Nimbos. Street-side stalls sold griddled squid and all kinds of grilled skewers. They even saw vendors selling roasted sweet potatoes and corn.
"Daddy, I want some roasted corn."
Javier Sinclair nodded slightly. When it came to his daughter, he would grant her every wish.
Celeste Grant reached out and gently pinched her daughter’s little cheek. "My little dumpling, Mommy will go get you some roasted corn right now."
"Okay, okay."
The little girl clapped her hands and said sweetly, "Thank you, Mommy! Love you, muah!"
Celeste Grant laughed and leaned in to plant a kiss on her little cheek. "Sweetie, how can you be so cute? My daughter is so beautiful."
Elise Sinclair, still held in Javier Sinclair’s arm, smiled faintly. "Mommy, you’re the most beautiful one. I only inherited a millionth of your looks."
"You’re such a little flatterer."
As she spoke, they arrived at the roasted corn stall.
Celeste Grant put down a Spirit Stone.
"Two roasted corns, please." She said, then looked at Javier Sinclair. "Honey, would you like one?"
Javier Sinclair shook his head slightly. "I’m not having any. Two is fine for you two."
"Alright, just two then."
Most of the vendors in the night market were disciples from the Demonic Domain, or their family members.
Celeste Grant’s family had disguised their faces and concealed their auras before heading out, so no one in the night market recognized them.
The vendor at the stall was an older woman. After packing the corn, she handed it to Celeste Grant with a cheerful smile. "Here’s your corn! If you like it, be sure to come back again."
Celeste Grant smiled.
"We will."
Next.
Celeste Grant gave one of the cobs to her daughter and kept the other for herself. Corn grown in Ethoria just tasted different—crisp and sweet, and suffused with rich Spiritual Energy. A single bite was incredibly refreshing.
After taking a bite.
Celeste Grant nodded in approval.
"This corn is delicious. Honey, do you want to try some?" As she spoke, she held the cob to his lips. "Have a bite, it’s really good."
Javier Sinclair leaned in to take a bite and nodded. "It is good."
Celeste Grant smiled. "See? I told you it was good. I’ll give you half."
He shook his head. "You and Ellie can have it. I’m not that interested in these things."
"More for me, then. It’s delicious."
"The grilled skewers over there look good. I’ll go buy some, and some drinks. We can find a pavilion and have a proper little feast."
Javier Sinclair hummed in agreement.
"That sounds like a plan."
Celeste Grant then went to buy the grilled skewers, and on her way, she also grabbed a few sticks of griddled squid. After browsing a little more, she ended up with her hands full of all sorts of delicious snacks.
Once they had left the night market, they found a nearby pavilion by a lake, went inside, and sat down to eat.
It was a lovely spot, where they could enjoy the view while eating their food.
"Mommy, I want meat!"
"Alright, you little glutton. It’s all yours."
"Thank you, Mommy."
Just as they were sharing skewers and enjoying their drinks...
Javier Sinclair suddenly looked up at the night sky. It wasn’t just him; Celeste Grant sensed it, too.
She raised her head slightly to look toward the distant horizon. Her eyes lit up, and she turned to Javier Sinclair in pleasant surprise.
"This aura... it’s our son."
Javier Sinclair nodded gently.
"Yes. The boy is back."
The connection of their bloodline was unmistakable; they could sense it instantly, even from a great distance.
The little girl, who was happily munching on a greasy skewer, tilted her head. She looked up at the sky and asked curiously, "Daddy, Mommy, what are you looking at? Is my brother back?"
Celeste Grant smiled and nodded, saying softly to her daughter, "That’s right, your brother is back. Ellie will get to see him very soon."
Javier Sinclair nodded as well.
"Yes. Weren’t you always asking for your brother, Ellie? You’ll get to see him very soon."
’My brother is back.’
’I’m going to see my brother?’
Hearing this, the little girl’s eyes lit up, and she immediately hopped down from the stone bench. She rushed to the edge of the pavilion, her small hands gripping the railing as she peered out.
"Where’s my brother? Mommy, why can’t I see him?"
"Daddy, you’re not tricking me, are you? My brother isn’t actually back yet."
At this, Celeste Grant couldn’t help but laugh. "He really is back. Your daddy isn’t tricking you."
From the eager anticipation in her eyes, it was clear that little Elise Sinclair adored her older brother, even though the siblings had never met in person. She had, however, seen photos of him on Celeste Grant’s phone.
Celeste Grant said softly, "Why don’t you call out for him a few times? Maybe that will make him appear."
