Chapter 522: Chapter 520: You Two Should Just Get Married on the Spot

Nerida wiped away her tears and threw her arms around him.

"It’s true. You’re still alive."

Holding her in his arms, the sensation was so real. Only now did Aeron finally believe that he hadn’t actually died.

"What in the world is going on? I’m not dead."

Nerida took his hand, then looked up at the sky. She smiled and said, "He’s the one who saved you. This is The Exalted One I told you about."

Aeron’s gaze shifted to the ethereal figure in the sky. ’So he was the one who saved me.’

’No matter who he is, he saved my life, so he’s my benefactor. Besides, he’s The Exalted One Nerida mentioned, which makes him her family.’

With this in mind, Aeron bowed deeply and said in a sincere tone, "Thank you for saving my life, Exalted One."

The ethereal figure in the sky swept his gaze over them. Seeing the two in their wedding attire, he couldn’t help but ask, "Dressed so festively. Is this a wedding?"

Nerida blushed.

Aeron grew flustered as well, but he still nodded slightly. "It was a bit hasty." ’He had thought he was going to die and was desperate to become her husband.’

Javier’s gaze shifted to Nerida, and he said with a cold smile, "Nerida, you went and found yourself a Taoist Companion behind my back. Did you ask for my permission?"

Nerida grabbed Aeron’s hand and held it up for him to see. "We haven’t had a chance to make it official yet. So it’s not too late for you to find out now, Exalted One."

Javier Sinclair glanced at the two of them. Seeing the state they were in after surviving a disaster, he said in a low voice, "I approve of this marriage. However, this kid can only marry into my Demonic Domain. Otherwise, the deal’s off."

’His Left Protector would absolutely not be married off to someone else.’

Hearing this, Aeron’s eyes lit up. ’So The Exalted One agrees to my marriage with Nerida! He knew full well that this man was incredibly powerful and that Nerida’s background was formidable. If he hadn’t approved, Aeron truly wouldn’t have known what to do.’

’He was the Young Master of Silvanis, and he had some authority here. But The Cultivation World was vast. This was just one small corner of it. In terms of status, he really wasn’t a match for Nerida. Their families were simply not of the same standing.’

’In his mind, even if Nerida’s family had disapproved, he would never have given up. He was hers in life, and he would be her ghost in death.’

’But now that The Exalted One had spoken, his words clearly implied his consent.’

"I’m willing to marry into her family." Just like that, Aeron stepped forward, cupped his hands in a salute, and said, "I have no objections. I will abide by The Exalted One’s decision. I can marry into her family."

’Whether it was called marrying into her family or him marrying out, it was all the same. As a man from the nation of Silvanis, he had no issue with it whatsoever.’

Perhaps surprised by his complete lack of hesitation, Javier Sinclair shot him a glance. "Are you sure you’ve thought this through?"

Aeron nodded slightly. "Exalted One, I am truly willing."

Nerida glanced at Javier Sinclair and chuckled. "Exalted One, Silvanis is a matriarchal nation. Here, the men are the ones who get married off."

"A matriarchal nation..." Javier Sinclair murmured, somewhat surprised. Realizing his mistake, he couldn’t help but add, "My mistake. I didn’t notice that detail."

’But it didn’t matter. As long as the two of them were happy, he had no objections.’

He waved his hand dismissively.

"You two can get married right here, right now."

At his words, Nerida just smiled. "Well then, thank you, Exalted One," she said. "You saved my husband’s life. Seeing as you’ve been so kind, I promise I’ll never speak ill of you again. And I certainly won’t tell anyone that I once spanked your butt."

The moment she finished speaking, Javier Sinclair looked mortified. His gaze swept over the couple, finally landing on Nerida with a menacing glare. He raised an infuriated finger and pointed at her. "Nerida, it seems you’re begging to be refined in my Ten Thousand Souls Banner! Scram, scram! You’re so damn annoying."

’How could she say something like that out loud?’

’Does he have no dignity to uphold?’

’No, that was the ’ex-husband.’’

’The one whose butt Nerida spanked was the ’ex-husband,’ and that has nothing to do with him. Javier Sinclair would absolutely never admit that person was him. He couldn’t bear the humiliation.’

The corner of Nerida’s mouth twitched.

But... more than anything, she was happy. She was truly grateful that The Exalted One had appeared just in time. Her gaze fell upon her Taoist Companion, seeing him standing beside her, alive and well. At that moment, she felt warmth flood back into her own body, as if she, too, had been brought back to life.

’This is wonderful.’

’He’s still here.’

’She had been on the verge of a complete breakdown, her thoughts turning only to her Lady and the others. She never expected The Exalted One to actually appear. Could this be the telepathic bond that family shares?’

Thinking of this, Nerida looked toward Javier Sinclair.

"Exalted One, thank you."

"This subordinate swears to serve you until death."

He waved a hand.

"I know."

His gaze fell upon the couple as he said, "Nerida, my wife has been thinking about you." At this, he couldn’t resist a subtle brag. "Oh, and by the way, I have a daughter now. The little one looks just like her mother. She’s beautiful. You’ll get to meet her someday."

Hearing him mention the child, Nerida’s eyes brightened. "I’ve been dying to meet her! I wonder how my Lady is doing, if she’s lost any weight. And my sweet little darling... I can’t believe I wasn’t the first one to hold her."

The thought of it made her sad.

Hearing this, Javier Sinclair stared at her, his face cold.

"Nerida, what am I, dead? She’s my own wife. Do you really think I can’t take good care of her? Does she need you to worry?"

Nerida threw up her hands. It couldn’t be helped; it was just a habit.

’This family would fall apart without me.’

’Thinking back, if she hadn’t met his wife... The Exalted One would probably still be that lonely old Demon, and he might not even know he had a child. Thinking about it that way, she suddenly felt she was destined to be a nanny.’

Javier Sinclair waved his hand. "Enough about that. You two... how did you end up in such a life-or-death situation? If I’d been a little later, he’d be a corpse. You might have both ended up as corpses."

Nerida fell silent.

’Suddenly, she felt it would be better if The Exalted One didn’t speak at all. She could even detect a hint of gloating in his tone. ’Come on, Exalted One, act like a decent person!’’

Aeron also fell silent.

’This Exalted One has a sharp tongue.’

Nerida looked at him and said, "Exalted One, the realm of Silvanis has been sealed off. We can’t get out. If we try to forcibly break the Array here, every living creature in this land will perish."

The ethereal figure standing in the sky glanced at them, a hint of understanding in his eyes.

"Let me take a look."

As he spoke, his Divine Sense enveloped the entire area. In a mere moment, he understood the root of the problem.

"I see." As he spoke, he stretched out his hand. At the same time, all the Spiritual Energy in the surrounding region began to converge on their location.

Before Nerida and Aeron’s curious eyes, an ancient, heavy-looking hammer emerged from the earth and slowly floated into the air. It then shrank and landed in Javier Sinclair’s hand.

"A hammer."

Aeron stared at the hammer in his hand, which was now emitting a golden light. He recognized it at a glance. "That’s the Divine Artifact of the Silvanis Clan! It’s the Clear Wind Hammer, our clan’s most sacred treasure. I’ve only ever read about it in the ancient records."
