-----------------------
Tapu Lele had agreed to treat Mewtwo, and although she had not said that the others were forbidden from watching, everyone discussed it and decided that only Julian, Mewtwo’s Trainer, Caitlin, Tapu Lele’s friend, and Cynthia, who was good with words, would go.
That would ensure the treatment proceeded smoothly without provoking her.
Julian rode Miraidon, Cynthia rode Garchomp, and Caitlin followed on a rented Altaria.
The treatment location was not on Akala Island.
Tapu Lele directly brought Mewtwo to Ula’ula Island for treatment.
In a lush green mountain, there was a cave hidden behind vines.
Tapu Lele moved the vines aside and brought him into the cave.
Deep inside the cave was a vast space with a skylight above.
At the centre was a spring, radiating a rich vitality.
Because of the skylight, the cave was not dark.
Tapu Lele pointed at the spring water, telling Mewtwo to soak in it.
Naturally, Mewtwo did exactly as the doctor instructed.
After he entered, the spring water slowly bloomed with faint green light.
She flew above Mewtwo’s head and scattered scales containing a large amount of Psychic power.
Mewtwo’s body absorbed the scales, and the conflicting genes inside him were immediately activated.
His body began to tremble.
Tapu Lele revealed an innocent smile.
She had agreed to treat Mewtwo.
But that did not mean she would use her full strength to treat him.
The rough treatment method Tapu Lele was currently using could solve Mewtwo’s genetic illness, but the process would be extremely painful.
Tapu Lele waved a hand.
Under the guidance of her Psychic power, the energy contained within the spring wildly surged into Mewtwo’s body.
Every cell in Mewtwo’s body began operating at full capacity.
Julian frowned slightly.
He understood Mewtwo’s current condition to some extent, but he did not speak up to interrupt Tapu Lele’s treatment.
A healer on her level was something one could only encounter by chance.
Since she had chosen to intensify the pain Mewtwo would endure during treatment, they could only accept it silently.
The only thing Julian could do was silently support him from the side.
After Tapu Lele activated every cell in Mewtwo’s body, she discovered that the Psychic power inside him had not only doubled in quantity, but was also filled entirely with destructive force!
When Tapu Lele’s Psychic power came into contact with Mewtwo’s during the treatment, it was invaded and partially altered in nature.
If Mew’s Psychic power represented the infinite possibilities of Psychic power...
Then Mew, using her endlessly changeable Psychic power, could freely transform into all Pokémon.
Mewtwo, meanwhile, was the most destructive possibility Team Rocket had extracted from Mew’s infinite potential in order to realise their ambitions.
Mew could transform into all Pokémon.
Mewtwo was the most aggressive possibility among them.
And because the destructive genes of other Pokémon had also been refined into him, Mewtwo’s potential even surpassed Mew’s!
This was also why Mewtwo believed his power was above Mew’s.
Tapu Lele was not weak.
As one of Alola’s guardian deities, she possessed immense Fairy and Psychic power. Her scales could heal wounds, but they could also be dangerous enough to harm those who touched them carelessly.
But her power naturally leaned towards healing and subtle interference. Compared to Tapu Koko’s explosive aggression or Tapu Bulu’s overwhelming physical pressure, her attacks were less direct.
Mewtwo was different.
His Psychic power had been shaped for destruction from the moment he was created. It was sharp, forceful, and terrifyingly focused.
While treating him, Tapu Lele sensed that quality clearly.
And for the first time, she saw a way to make her own Psychic power more destructive.
Tapu Lele was secretly delighted.
On the surface, however, she showed nothing. She merely began slowly reducing the treatment’s effectiveness while ensuring the level of pain remained unchanged.
Although Tapu Lele had not been using her full strength to begin with.
Originally, she had intended to cure Mewtwo in one go.
But now that she wanted to learn from him, she needed to extend the time she spent in contact.
As for maintaining the pain, that was because only under intense pain would the destructive nature of Mewtwo’s Psychic power be fully displayed.
Almost an hour passed.
Through the intense pain, Mewtwo remained completely silent and continued accepting the treatment.
At that moment, a bull flew in through the skylight.
Seeing Mewtwo in the spring and Tapu Lele flying in the air, Tapu Bulu merely flicked his tail.
In an instant, the entire mountain space was wrapped in rich Grass-type energy.
Vitality from nature slowly flowed into Mewtwo’s body.
It nourished every cell in Mewtwo’s body while also easing the pain he endured during treatment.
For the first time, Mewtwo’s expression relaxed.
Tapu Lele looked at Tapu Bulu in dissatisfaction.
"Lele!"
Tapu Bulu scratched his head.
Was it wrong for him to help send vitality?
Tapu Lele scattered more scales, once again activating Mewtwo’s body.
For the first time, dense blue Psychic power was released from Mewtwo’s body.
Her expression became unusually excited.
Julian frowned slightly.
He felt that Tapu Lele’s attitude towards Mewtwo did not resemble that of a doctor towards a patient.
That excitement was not because she enjoyed seeing Mewtwo suffer.
Rather...
It was because she was excited by the overwhelming destructive power contained within Mewtwo’s Psychic power.
Julian knew a little about what Tapu Lele wanted thanks to the Pokédex entries he had seen in his previous life.
Clearly, Tapu Lele wanted to use Mewtwo to enhance the destructive power of her own Psychic abilities.
Every healer had a heart that yearned to deal damage.
With Tapu Lele’s warning, Tapu Bulu did not act again.
Instead, he flew beside Julian and looked at him with some displeasure.
Julian immediately shrank his neck nervously.
Only after seeing Tapu Bulu did Julian remember that he had forgotten about the fruit tree he had planted!
Even if an Oran Berry tree did not require too much management, it was still only a sapling and needed a certain amount of care from the farmer.
Julian hurriedly said, "I’ll go water the fruit tree later!"
Only then did Tapu Bulu nod in satisfaction.
The treatment lasted two and a half hours in total before Tapu Lele finally ended it, reluctant and unwilling.
She returned to her indifferent expression and gave Mewtwo the doctor’s orders.
Then she flew away through the skylight.
Mewtwo revealed an exhausted expression as he flew from the spring to the shore.
Julian hurriedly supported him.
"What did Tapu Lele say?"
Mewtwo’s voice sounded somewhat weak.
"She said my illness isn’t something that can be cured with one or two treatments."
"She told me to stay on Ula’ula Island and soak in this spring every day, using its rich energy to ensure the treatment effect doesn’t weaken."
"She will come treat me once every seven days. As for when I’ll be cured, that depends on her mood."
That answer was very Tapu Lele.
Cynthia frowned slightly.
"In other words, Mewtwo, you need to stay in Alola for treatment and won’t return to Sinnoh with us?"
Mewtwo nodded.
"For now, that is the only option. But I’m confident that after receiving Tapu Lele’s treatment a few more times, I’ll grasp the method for treating my genetic illness myself."
"As Mew’s clone, I still possess some of Mew’s abilities."
Caitlin revealed a wicked smile.
"You can copy Tapu Lele’s treatment method?"
Mewtwo nodded.
"Although I won’t reach her level of effectiveness, I’m confident I can achieve at most seventy percent of it."
