Pokémon: My Online Friend Is Cynthia
Chapter 312: Return To Veilstone
Chapter 312: Chapter 312: Return To Veilstone
Julian released his Aura and checked Mewtwo’s body, then nodded in satisfaction.
"As expected of Tapu Lele. Even with only a small amount of effort, your condition has improved this much."
Mewtwo nodded.
"After this treatment, my genetic illness has improved by roughly 15%. But considering that the effectiveness of later treatments may decline..."
"I will need to receive at least ten more treatments from Tapu Lele before I can recover completely."
As he spoke, a faint pink glow appeared over Mewtwo’s body, nourishing him.
"Compared to the treatment itself, learning Tapu Lele’s healing method is actually harder. My understanding of Fairy Energy is too poor."
"I still need to spend more time in Alola to understand it. If I want to reach seventy percent of her effectiveness, even ten treatments may not be enough."
Caitlin counted it out.
"One treatment per week, ten treatments... doesn’t that mean it’ll take at least two and a half months to cure you?"
Mewtwo nodded.
"After the treatment is finished, I will go to Veilstone Gym. When the time comes, I’ll have Julian call you."
"If you still need guidance in training your Psychic ability, come to Veilstone Gym and learn there."
Caitlin nodded, though she was confident that she had already gained control over her Psychic power.
As long as she continued training, she should not lose control again.
Julian went to water the terraced fields and happened to run into Aula, who had also come to tend the farmland.
Seeing Julian watering the plants, he greeted him warmly.
"Didn’t we agree that once your matter was handled, you’d come to my house for dinner? Why didn’t you come?"
Julian rubbed his temples.
"I should be the one treating you to a meal. After I leave, I’ll have to trouble you to help look after these terraces."
"When I come back to Alola next time, you’d better let me eat some sweet Berries!"
Aula laughed and nodded.
"No problem!"
After handling the farmland, Julian invited Aula to bring Acerola and join their bonfire party that evening.
Julian invited him so warmly that he really could not refuse, so he could only agree.
After one lively gathering, it was almost time for them to say goodbye to Alola.
Mohn’s family, old Sofu — Julian personally went to say goodbye to all of them and gave them pastries he had made by hand as parting gifts.
Alola really was a wonderful place.
If he had time, Julian intended to come back and train his Pokémon here for a while.
The richness of the energy here was no worse than the Great Crater of Paldea.
And there was not much danger.
The people here were all talented, and they were so polite too.
Julian liked this place very much.
It almost felt like coming home.
Inside the flying fortress, Darius was doing weighted push-ups in the gym as he said, "Julian, after we return, I’ll leave Veilstone Gym to you. I’m going to focus all my energy on challenging the Elite Four!"
Julian narrowed his eyes.
"I have no problem taking over the Gym. But if I find out you’re not training your Pokémon and have run off to play games instead..."
"You know what I’m capable of."
Darius believed his bones were tough, but in his current condition, he really could not withstand Julian’s fists.
Darius hurriedly said, "After we get back, I’ll go find Professor Rowan immediately! I won’t return to Veilstone City until I evolve Primeape into Annihilape!"
Julian glared at him.
"Even after you come back, you’ll go honestly to Verdant Cloud Mountain and train. Don’t even think about playing games!"
Darius chuckled.
"Julian, can I play one day a week?"
Julian smiled without warmth.
"What do you think?"
He continued bargaining.
"Half a day! Half a day should be fine, right?"
Julian looked at him calmly.
"You remember what you promised Mum. Fulfil it yourself. It’s not like I can control you anyway."
Darius held his weighted push-up position.
Love had made him so haggard.
From today on, he would quit games!
Maylene kicked the sandbag.
"I can’t wait to go back and challenge Gyms. Over the past few days, Paul has definitely earned another Badge."
"I can’t let him overtake me! It’s just Fuchsia Gym. Watch me break through it with one punch!"
Maylene punched out, directly bursting the gym’s sandbag.
Hearing the movement from the gym, Caitlin opened the door and looked inside.
Although she did not use the gym, everything here was made from the best materials.
The corner of Caitlin’s mouth twitched.
"Maylene, that sandbag can withstand a Hitmonchan’s full-power punch. You broke it?"
Maylene smiled awkwardly.
"Maybe I ate too well in Alola recently? My strength seems to have increased by a tiny, tiny bit again..."
Julian nodded.
After seeing their mother, Maylene had begun showing a speed of improvement that far surpassed their unmotivated old man.
Only now could Maylene’s future as a Fighting-type Elite Four member be considered steady.
As for their useless old man...
Julian could only hope he would not be cut down by Flint.
Caitlin still needed to make a trip to Saffron City in Kanto.
She was going to find Sabrina’s father and learn some techniques for controlling one’s Psychic ability.
Darach and Sabrina’s father were friends.
Back then, they had both been adventurous handsome young men.
Now, Darach was still that handsome.
Sabrina’s father, however, had been tormented into a worn-out old man by his genius psychic daughter.
With Mewtwo absent, although Caitlin believed she would be fine, Darach still arranged another teacher for her.
After all, after being tormented by his daughter for so many years, Sabrina’s father must have accumulated rich experience in raising psychic geniuses.
Everyone had their own matters to handle, so they did not go to Veilstone Gym for dinner and instead went their separate ways.
Julian returned to Veilstone Gym alone, where Kai came forward enthusiastically to welcome him.
Kai smiled and said, "Master, did your trip to Alola go smoothly?"
Julian smiled and nodded.
"Very smoothly. Dad has even gone to prepare for his Elite Four challenge and aim for the Fighting-type Elite Four position."
Kai waved his fist.
"Really? This is youth!"
Julian waved his hand.
"Alright, Kai. Go announce that Veilstone Gym opens tomorrow. No limit on the number of challengers!"
Kai froze.
"Master, can you handle that alone?"
Julian lifted his head confidently.
"Remove the question mark."
When news of Julian’s return spread, the Veilstone Pokémon Centre immediately boiled over.
All the Trainers rushed towards Veilstone Gym as fast as possible.
Everyone was saying that Julian had gone to some special training ground this time.
Not only had his Pokémon’s strength increased greatly, even his golden touch had become more powerful!
A blue-clothed boy with a ponytail rushed at the very front of the crowd.
"Give up, all of you! I’ll be the first person to challenge Gym Leader Julian tomorrow!"
At the front desk, Kai watched the huge crowd charging towards Veilstone Gym from the road.
Each one of them looked fierce, as if they had some grudge against the Gym.
The blue-clothed boy rushed through the doors.
"I’m Aen from Mistralton Town. I’m signing up for tomorrow’s Gym battle!"
Kai nodded and registered him.
"Aen from Gale Town. First Gym battle tomorrow."
Use this:
Aen turned back towards the queue of panting Trainers and gave them a bright, infuriating grin.
"Sorry, everyone. First slot’s mine."
One of the Trainers at the door immediately pointed at him.
"You little—don’t look so smug! Once I finish signing up, battle me. Let’s see if you’re as fast in a match as you are when cutting the queue."
Several others nodded along, their expressions less than friendly.
Aen’s grin stiffened.
"Another time."
Then, before anyone could block the door, he slipped sideways through the crowd and disappeared at remarkable speed.
Julian watched the scene with mild surprise.
He had expected a few challengers after reopening the Gym.
He had not expected them to treat the first slot like a limited-edition prize.
