Chapter 84: The Strongest Silver Wolf

  • Next Chapter

In the Sacrificial Stone Forest, the Foreigners raised their flame-enveloped weapons, closing in on Romeo step by step. They stared greedily at Romeo as if looking at a massive medal. Their gazes also drifted behind him, eyeing the Sacrificial Stone Forest that shimmered under the moonlight like a colossal treasure trove.

Romeo exhaled, his expression cold and stern. He couldn’t see these Foreigners’ Levels, but he could gather some information about them through his sense of smell. Simply put, the pressure exuded by these twenty-odd people was about the same as that of six Vice Aliens. This night would be exceptionally long, but he had already endured the most difficult one. He would use the Power and willpower he had gained that night from Blaze and the Vice Aliens to make it through the dark.

HOWL—

Taking the initiative, Romeo unleashed a wolf’s howl. The immense sonic Impact tore through the ground. Caught off guard, a Foreigner was sent flying and shattered into dust mid-air.

He was stunned that the attack had actually connected. During his battle with the Vice Aliens, he would be beaten mercilessly whenever he used his howl. Because of that, he had assumed this Skill could only be used as an opening move. He never expected it to instantly kill a Foreigner.

"Holy shit! Use fire! Use fire!"

The Foreigners immediately panicked. The Mages among them brought their hands together, chanting ancient and profound Spells as scorching Fireballs shot out from their palms. In an instant, Romeo was swallowed by the Flames.

"What the hell! As long as it’s still a Wild Beast, Flames will deal massive damage."

WHOOSH—

The Foreigners had barely finished cheering when a violent gale erupted from the sea of fire. It was an exhalation that cleaved the inferno right down the middle. Then came an inhalation. The scattered Flames gathered and were sucked entirely into the Silver Werewolf’s nose and mouth, vanishing completely. His sacred and beautiful fur was utterly unharmed, even appearing more radiant beneath the moonlight.

Romeo thought of Mr. Scary Clown, that terrifying man who had detonated a Highly Poisonous gas inside Romeo’s mouth, where there was no fur for Defense. He had been brought to the brink of death time and time again by that move. What was truly terrifying was that Mr. Scary Clown had only Consumed the minuscule amount of MP needed to spark a Flame. In contrast, the Magic Flame attacks from this group of Foreigners not only targeted his upper body, which had the highest Defense, but also wasted a massive amount of MP.

"W-What’s going on! Fire is actually useless!"

The Foreigners fell into another uproar, which left Romeo incredibly bewildered. The Vice Aliens had calculated exactly how many moves it would take for him to generate a Resistance Skill. They would finish a combo and immediately switch tactics, their attacks raining down endlessly like a torrential storm. Even though he was the one getting beaten up, he almost wanted to yell at them, "Don’t panic!"

"If fire doesn’t work, use Silver weapons!"

A Berserker charged forward, raising a giant Silver axe. Romeo grew vigilant. This Foreigner was one of the most imposing ones in the group—likely a legendary Full Level Foreigner.

"Eat my axe!"

CLANG—

Romeo easily caught the giant axe with his massive claw.

"Hahaha—idiot! Silver is to you... what!"

The Berserker’s eyes widened in disbelief. The giant Silver axe, which should have easily sliced through the fur, twisted and deformed under the massive claw, becoming a piece of scrap metal.

Romeo felt a bit hurt. Did he look like a Filthy Werewolf? Juliet loved lying on him, taking in the scent of his beautiful fur. Then again, this Full Level Foreigner’s Power was far too weak—only half that of Mr. Cannibal. Was it because the Professions he had chosen were all Basic Professions?

"Taste this!"

A Foreigner hoisted an explosive barrel, tossed it from a distance, and followed it up with a Fireball.

"You motherf—!" the Berserker shrieked.

BOOM—

The Berserker was blasted until his face was covered in ash. Though he looked furious, he was confident that the enemy had taken far more damage than he did. However, when the smoke cleared, let alone being injured, the Silver Werewolf didn’t even have a speck of dust on him. Instead, he slowly opened his mouth toward the Berserker. It was clearly a Beast Monster! How could it not be afraid of fire, or even explosions!?

CHOMP—

The Berserker’s upper half vanished into Romeo’s bite, while his lower half gradually turned to dust and faded away.

Twenty left.

Romeo raised his head and let out a majestic wolf’s howl. The remaining Foreigners only felt their bodies grow heavy; their actions were instantly interrupted, leaving them completely immobilized.

"It actually has interrupts and crowd control!?"

For these Foreigners, the true terror was yet to come.

[Shadow Beast Summoning A]

The black Shadow beneath Romeo’s feet writhed. Pitch-black werewolves slowly emerged one by one. Their numbers perfectly matched the remaining Foreigners—a full twenty beasts.

"I-It actually scales its Summoning Followers to match the number of players!?"

"Isn’t this a Skill that requires a massive amount of MP?"

"This guy seems to have a Skill called Moon God’s Protection! Initiating a Prayer under the moon doesn’t Consume MP!" A Foreigner with the Hunter Profession widened his eyes, observing the incredibly bizarre Skill Set on Romeo.

"Who the hell designed this monster? Why does it have so many Resistance Skills!"

Bosses, especially hidden bosses, typically possessed Skills that tied into their background lore. There would absolutely never be an unreasonable combination. Just like how aquatic creatures wouldn’t have the running Skills of terrestrial creatures. If they did, it could only be described as overly malicious. Yet, in the eyes of the Hunter Foreigner, Romeo was simply an amalgamation of pure malice.

Despite being a monster that should be weak to fire, it possessed Advanced fire and explosion Resistance. Despite being canonically set as a solitary creature, it possessed the Summoning Followers ability. All of its offensive Skills were plain, unadorned Low Level Skills, yet their Skill Levels had reached the Full Level threshold, thereby triggering additional Effects. Not to mention its Strength Attribute, which was enough to instantly kill a Full Level player in a single strike.

Its only weakness seemed to be the low health pool brought about by merely being Level 80, but beneath the moonlight, it would rapidly regenerate health.

"Which shit-eating designer came up with this! I’m going to file a complaint!"

Romeo lowered his body and lunged into the crowd of Foreigners like a fierce tiger descending a mountain, instantly throwing them into complete disarray.

"Spiritual Attack! Hurry, use a Spiritual Attack!"

A Foreigner stretched his mouth wide, pulling an ugly Ghost face in an attempt to perform an Intimidation. However, Romeo was completely unfazed. Compared to Miss Claire’s face, this was as innocent and naive as a baby’s, not to mention Miss Claire’s Spiritual Attack Skill that felt like gazing directly into eldritch chaos. As a result, the Foreigner pulling the Ghost face was directly cleaved in half.

"It’s no use! This guy has Advanced mental fortitude!"

"Has this guy met an Evil God before or something!?"

"He’s coming! He’s coming over here!"

"Stop spamming Skills blindly! Do you even know how to play!?"

The Foreigners began attacking haphazardly without distinguishing friend from foe. Romeo took advantage of this, weaving between the Foreigners and occasionally diving into their Shadows for a sneak attack. In less than a minute, the Foreigners were entirely wiped out.

However, Romeo couldn’t relax. A transparent and Illusory Teleportation Tower was floating in mid-air.

It was a Temporary Teleportation Tower. From now on, Foreigners would teleport over in an endless stream. The Foreigners would soon adapt to his attacks. Tonight had only just begun.
