Chapter 83: Foreigners Never Fear
Blood gushed out in absolute Madness—a volume far beyond what any single human body could possess. Blaze felt a chill run down his spine.
[Lethal Execution]: In close combat, using a Slash or thrust on a vital spot would cause massive, instant-death hemorrhaging.
This Passive Skill was Invalid against creatures of colossal size, insects, and the Undead Series.
Belcimann did not fall into any of these categories. Yet, he slowly turned his head, revealing a horrifying smile amidst the massive fountain of spraying blood.
Above his head, a string of question marks began to Twist.
[Sinful Beast — Belcimann Level 100]
[Primordial Vampire]
"A Vampire?!" Greenland had clearly seen the name above Belcimann’s head as well, letting out a gasp of disbelief.
However, her movements remained incredibly sharp as she launched an attack at the exact same moment as Blaze.
The Twisted Greatsword and the Branch Staff struck Belcimann simultaneously, easily snapping his body in half. His upper half flew through the air, but in that same fraction of a second, his lower half delivered a swift kick to both Blaze and Greenland. In that split second, lasting less than a heartbeat, Blaze and Greenland’s eyes met.
Despite it being a bizarre lower-body Kicking Skill, it was an incredibly "textbook" execution of a massively powerful Skill known as the [Spartan Kick].
He used his own eyes to see the [Skill] and his own consciousness to comprehend the [Flaw].
The world turned pitch black. Lines of white Chaos sketched out the motion of that kick.
Blaze saw exactly where the strike would land; he could even see the entire trajectory of the foot. But, captivated by this new field of vision, he only had time to raise his Twisted Greatsword at an angle to block the attack.
BANG!
Blaze was sent flying by the kick, smashing into a stone pillar. Greenland, however, easily dodged the blow, raising her cat claws to cleanly cleave the lower half of the body in two. All of this happened in the blink of an eye.
Belcimann’s upper body floated eerily in midair, swarmed by the surrounding blood. The wound on his neck shifted from spraying blood to absorbing it, completely regenerating his lower half along with his clothing.
This was the very symbol of a Vampire: [High Blood Submission].
"As expected of a Vice Alien and a Lost Home Knight from the Golden Country." Belcimann cupped his hands together and clapped elegantly.
Blaze forcefully pulled himself out of the crushed stone pillar. He had angled his Twisted Greatsword just in time to deflect the majority of the damage, but even so, he had still lost a significant chunk of health.
Fortunately, this royal hall was built by the moon-worshipping Arcadians. As long as it was night, the area was entirely bathed in moonlight. Yet, this did nothing to alleviate the pressure.
"To think he isn’t a Werewolf, but a Vampire!"
Blaze’s heart began to race uncontrollably, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
A Vampire was a Monster far more dangerous and powerful than a Werewolf. They were a perfect race with virtually no weaknesses other than Sunshine and silver.
Capable of using Magic and Prayer, and possessing an immensely powerful physical body, they were one of the strongest Undead races.
And to make matters worse, he was a Primordial Vampire. This meant Belcimann hadn’t been turned into a Vampire; he had become a first-generation Vampire through his own free will. His absolute minimum Level would be Level 100.
"This is my answer to God’s Curse!" Belcimann raised his hands high. Blood erupted from his back, unfurling into giant bat wings.
Those pitch-black wings resembled the night sky, dotted with silver-white specks of light that felt cold and eerie.
"Since the Curse of the Arcadians stems from blasphemy against the moon, I might as well commit to the blasphemy until the very end! I will swallow the silver whole and plunge into a night where light can never reach!
"And there is only one path to becoming the greatest blasphemer, and that is cannibalizing one’s own kind!"
Murdering his own brother, then devouring his own offspring—through these horrifying crimes, he had achieved Transcendence over both the living and the dead, becoming an existence that blasphemed the Deities.
What a terrifying Monster. Blaze’s breathing grew involuntarily heavy, but Greenland’s muttered words jolted him out of his shock.
"He probably just thought that since the Curse came from the blood, all he had to do was become a Vampire who could control blood."
While Blaze was horrified by Belcimann’s appalling monologue, Greenland simply summarized it with effortless ease. It was like simplifying a poem full of flowery rhetoric into a plain, easy-to-read diary entry.
"With all those question marks above his head, I thought he’d be some Monster I’d never seen before, but it turns out he’s just a Vampire."
This was the absolute confidence of a Savior who had faced countless formidable foes and rescued an untold number of worlds. Greenland hopped lightly in place to warm up, completely ignoring Belcimann’s blasphemous tirade.
"A Primordial Vampire just means he doesn’t have a higher-ranking master. It doesn’t mean he’s the strongest Vampire.
"Vampires can control their own blood to prevent HP loss, but we have silver weapons that counter them.
"Since their weakness is silver anyway, swapping a Werewolf boss for a Vampire boss is perfectly reasonable!
"As long as it’s reasonable, it can be defeated!"
Even though the oppressive aura of a Level 100 Monster made it hard to breathe, and the horrifying whispers of blasphemy and corruption instilled a bone-deep chill, Greenland turned a blind eye to it all. She was even eager to fight.
It was the thrill and anticipation of challenging a powerful enemy and overcoming a massive gap in strength.
Blaze couldn’t help but exhale the heavy tension in his chest. A Foreigner’s strength never stemmed from a God’s Blessing, but rather from the very phrase that symbolized their fearlessness and detachment.
"As long as it has a health bar, even a God can be defeated... huh?"
It wasn’t an impossible demand. He shouldn’t be swayed by the enemy’s words, nor overwhelmed by their strength. He needed to remember Greenland’s advice: stay calm, see through the attacks, dodge them, and seize the moment to counterattack.
Blaze relaxed his body, naturally slipping into peak combat condition.
"Bring it on, blasphemer!"
Meanwhile, outside the Priest Stone Forest, Romeo picked up the scent of danger.
"I knew they hid in this place. This is their Priest grounds, which can also serve as a sanctuary.
"There are at least several thousand Arcadians! If we kill them all, we can climb straight to first or second place on the leaderboards!"
These were hostile Foreigners, casually discussing the horrific prospect of genocide in a lighthearted tone.
Not all Foreigners were righteous, but Romeo still felt a sense of sorrow over this. The individuals before him were Foreigners who had chosen the path of virtue. Their voices sounded even younger than his, yet they were willing to slaughter all the Arcadians just for some so-called leaderboard.
"Ah! That’s the hidden boss from the video! It hasn’t been killed yet!"
One of the Warrior Foreigners—shining in head-to-toe Gold, clad in a flashy and domineering Armor, and wielding a massive Dragon-Slaying Blade—jumped up in pleasant surprise upon seeing Romeo.
"Fantastic! We can snatch the first kill of this Special Monster right out of the Fairy Kingdom’s hands!"
Romeo reared up his body, letting out a low, threatening growl.
Faced with his final warning, the Foreigners drew out Great Swords wreathed in Flame.
"Lots of fur means weak to Flame, and a Wild Beast fears explosions! Plus, we brought silver weapons. We’re definitely going to win!"
