Chapter 85: Staff in Hand, Sword in Mouth

Silver Castle.

Belcimann spread his wings, and the cold, spectral stars within them flared with blinding light. Before they could fully manifest, however, arrows pierced through the air and shattered them.

"Aim for the glowing spots, right?" Blaze shouted to Greenland. Her response was a thumbs-up and the flash of Silver light from her Magic Staff. It was extremely high-level Teleportation Magic.

"Trying to Escape? Vice Alien!" Belcimann sneered, baring a mouthful of sharp teeth. He mocked her, assuming she was trying to Escape.

But Greenland’s position didn’t change at all. Was spatial teleportation forbidden in this King’s Chamber? No. Greenland wasn’t the target of her own Teleportation Magic.

A massive powder keg, its fuse already burned to the very end, materialized right behind Belcimann.

"What!?"

BOOM!

Amidst a deafening explosion, Belcimann crashed to the ground, billowing black smoke. Even a Vampire would be caught completely off guard by a point-blank explosion to the back—not to mention the silver powder hidden inside the powder keg.

Belcimann’s eyes twitched. Melted by the intense heat, the silver powder had turned into liquid and seeped into his body. His tainted blood recoiled in fear from the holy metal. Until the silver cooled and solidified, he could only endure the agonizing, burning pain it brought.

"How despicable! Foreigner!"

"Where are you looking!" Blaze stepped right into Belcimann’s attack range. The blood scattered around them splashed upward, lunging at him like striking cobras.

But before it could connect, Blaze used [Black Shadow Stealth] to dive into the shadows of the blood. He shot out at high speed, slicing across Belcimann’s neck like a streak of black light. A fountain of blood erupted once more.

[Lethal Execution] couldn’t instantly kill a Vampire like Belcimann, but it could squeeze out his blood in one massive burst. Although Vampires could manipulate blood, that same blood was their very Life. Having such a massive amount forced out of his body inevitably plunged him into a state of Weakness, forcing his body to prioritize reclaiming the lost blood.

This gave Greenland the perfect window to deal damage. At this moment, Greenland was so moved she could cry.

From the day she became a Vice Player, she had been an orphan abandoned by this world. Even a passing dog would want to take a bite out of her. She couldn’t talk to NPCs or buy items, and she had to skip all the lore and fight bosses completely blind.

The only main-hand weapon she had—one of the mere six Eden Weapons in the entire game—was obtained after she fought in beginner’s diapers for a full week, finally defeating seven evil Fire Angels and their six weak, idiotic pet snakes.

Later, she learned from other Eden Weapon owners that it was a special quest with incredibly difficult trigger conditions, but incredibly low combat difficulty. It could be cleared even without meeting the level requirements. As long as the quest line was completed normally, the seven Fire Angels, whose Attributes countered the final boss, would fight alongside the player. One could win effortlessly without lifting a finger.

At that time, she suffered a complete mental breakdown. She had broken all her equipment and spent her entire fortune just to get this growth-type weapon.

But look at her now!

The enemy was a Level 100 Primordial Vampire whose Attributes completely crushed hers. But her teammate was the only Black Beast Knight in the world, holding the cheat-like Skill [Lethal Execution]. With a single strike, he could inflict a massive hemorrhage that far exceeded the Effect of any bleed-specialized player—a move perfectly tailored to crowd-control Vampires. And all of her items had been provided "for free" by the Arcadian Herbie!

Was this what the world of normal players felt like?

"Take this!" Greenland’s morale was at an all-time high. Wielding her Magic Staff like a spear, she launched a Piercing Attack to perform an Acupoint Strike, simultaneously crowd-controlling Belcimann while dishing out massive damage.

"Damn it!"

Belcimann was sent flying in absolute humiliation. Greenland didn’t chase him; instead, she swung her Magic Staff in place, teleporting massive stone pillars directly above Belcimann. The boulders crashed down, leaving Belcimann battered and covered in dust. The moment he staggered to his feet, Blaze was already in front of him, raising his foot.

[Spartan Kick]

Belcimann was kicked straight into the wall, remaining motionless for a long time.

Greenland’s expression stiffened as Belcimann suddenly burst from her shadow and tore her body in half. However, no blood sprayed from the severed halves. Instead, purple melons sprouted from the wound.

[Corpse Substitute] + [Highly Poisonous Bomb Melon]

The tips of the Highly Poisonous Bomb Melons were Broken, firing out highly destructive seeds that forced Belcimann to retreat repeatedly.

"Underhanded tricks!" Belcimann swept his cape, deflecting all the seeds. He stared darkly at Greenland, who was now shielded behind Blaze.

"Despicable scum like you must be universally despised pests in your world, too."

"Who are you calling a pest? I’m a streamer with 1.5 million followers! One word from each of them would be enough to cancel you on the spot!" Greenland bristled with immediate anger.

Belcimann fell into an eerie silence. Then, the corners of his mouth suddenly curled up. His face jutted forward, black fur sprouted across his skin, and his body rapidly expanded in bulk. He didn’t turn into a Werewolf, but rather a bizarre amalgamation of a wolf and a bat. He now possessed a bat’s head and winged claws, combined with the muscular physique of a Werewolf.

That was no longer Belcimann; it was a Twisted Bat Giant.

"Foreigner!"

The Bat Giant unleashed a ferocious screech, and a crushing pressure washed over them.

"Why did he suddenly enter the next phase!?" Greenland was stunned.

Normal bosses had multiple phases. They would either switch combat patterns when their health dropped to a certain threshold, or transform after an entire health bar was depleted. But the most liberating and creative aspect of this world was that players could skip phases via trash talk.

As long as you knew enough about the lore, you could ruthlessly target a boss’s sore spots and flame them until their composure broke, forcing them straight into the next phase. To achieve this, Greenland had specifically acquired two Professions called Beast Speaker and Necromancer. Combined with the Druid class that could talk to plants, she could ignore species barriers and the boundaries of Life and death, trash-talking her way past mechanics.

Back in the day, she had flamed those seven Green Tea Fire Angels so hard they instantly skipped to their final Doomsday Horn forms.

As a Professional Player, Greenland had already guessed the flow of the battle the moment she entered the King’s Chamber. They would fight Belcimann in his Human form, and after lowering his health to a specific point, he would transform into his Werewolf form. During the cutscene, when Audrey mentioned the matter of the Lord inheritance rights, Greenland was already preparing her verbal ammunition, waiting to roast Belcimann directly into his second form.

But right as she was about to use her ultimate keyboard warrior tactics to break Belcimann’s defenses, he transformed on his own!?

Which sentence triggered him?

But none of that mattered!

Even if he had turned into this Bat Giant standing before them—a form that obviously boasted high attack and high defense—it wasn’t a problem. Belcimann’s most troublesome trait was the Arcadians’ high-speed health regeneration under the moonlight. For someone like her, who lacked burst damage and could only whittle down health bit by bit, it was fatal.

But now, she was a noble player who had properly followed the storyline! Her teammate, the Black Beast Knight Blaze, possessed the ability to strip away the enemy’s regenerative Curse.

They could win. They could definitely win!
