Chapter 211: A New Crisis Appears

  • Next Chapter

After some hard work, Chen Qingdi finally got to the bottom of the problem. It turned out the Lin Group had intentionally manufactured this crisis to crush a competitor.

They had used underhanded means to cut off the cash flow to Bright Moon Company, trying to force it to fold under the pressure.

Faced with this reality, Chen Qingdi decided to take action. Using his own skills and extensive network, he found the Lin Group’s weakness and launched a counterattack.

After a fierce struggle, the Lin Group was ultimately defeated. They were forced to stop their attacks on Bright Moon Company and compensate for the damages.

With the matter resolved, Shen Mingyue’s company gradually regained its stability and began to grow again. The bond between Chen Qingdi and Shen Mingyue deepened as well. They had faced the hardship together and now shared the joy of their victory.

Chen Qingdi stood by the window, smoking anxiously, lost in thought. He had just finished dealing with matters in Jinghai and was planning another business trip when he suddenly received a desperate text from his girlfriend, Shen Mingyue.

"Schkhausen Grand Hotel, top floor presidential suite. I’m in the bathroom. Help me!"

Chen Qingdi’s heart sank. ’Shen Mingyue is in trouble!’ He immediately called his trusted subordinate, Chen Yuan. Minutes later, a helicopter landed before him.

He boarded the helicopter, heading straight for the Schkhausen Grand Hotel. After landing on the rooftop helipad, he strode into the presidential suite.

"Where’s the manager?" he asked a nearby hotel employee.

"In his office," the employee replied.

Chen Qingdi stormed into the office and grabbed the manager by the collar. "Who booked the top-floor presidential suite?"

The terrified manager didn’t dare to look up. "It’s Cao Youcai, the general manager of the Money Shop. He’s meeting with Shen Mingyue, the chairman and president of Jinshan Group, to discuss business."

His heart racing, Chen Qingdi shoved the manager aside and strode toward the presidential suite. He had a hotel employee open the door, then made his way toward the bathroom.

Suddenly, a loud banging sound came from the bathroom door, followed by a clamor from within. Chen Qingdi kicked the door open to find a group of men crowded around it. A large, fat man among them was shouting.

"Shen Mingyue, if you don’t give in to me today, your company can just go bankrupt! Don’t worry. Just spend one night with me. Once I’ve had my fun, we’ll wake up tomorrow and pretend we never met."

Enraged, Chen Qingdi sent the fat man flying with a single kick and roared, "Let her go!"

Startled, the men turned. When they saw it was Chen Qingdi, they all drew their guns. Chen Qingdi showed no fear. A martial artist since childhood, his movements were swift and agile. He snatched a gun from one of the men and pulled the trigger.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

A few shots rang out, and the men crowded at the door all collapsed, clutching wounded legs. Chen Qingdi kicked open the bathroom door to find Shen Mingyue slumped on the floor, her hands tied behind her back and her mouth sealed with tape.

"Qingdi!" Tears streamed down Shen Mingyue’s face. "I was so scared..."

Chen Qingdi swept her into his arms and strode out of the bathroom. The fat man lay on the floor, groaning in pain. "What do you think you’re doing? I’m the general manager of the Money Shop! I’m warning you, I have powerful connections!"

Chen Qingdi paused and glanced back at the fat man. "Your connections? I can crush them at will. You think I care if ants like you live or die?"

He turned and walked away, adding coldly, "I’ll let your master know this is the price for crossing me."

Shen Mingyue’s eyes welled with tears. "Qingdi... thank you..."

Chen Qingdi held her tightly. "As long as you’re safe." He bent down and kissed her tears away. "I’ll make this all go away."

He carried Shen Mingyue out of the suite, the cries of the fat man and his cronies echoing behind them. Back on the helicopter, Chen Yuan immediately offered a damp towel. "For Miss Shen, Boss?"

Chen Qingdi glanced at Shen Mingyue. "You should head back first." He handed the towel to her. "Wipe your face." Then he turned to Chen Yuan. "Bring a few of the boys over to clean up the scene."

"Boss, I’ll take Miss Shen back right away," Chen Yuan replied respectfully.

Shen Mingyue managed a faint smile and said her farewell to Chen Qingdi. "Qingdi, I’m heading back. You be careful, too."

"Okay, I will," Chen Qingdi replied with a smile.

After watching Shen Mingyue leave, Chen Qingdi turned and went back into the hotel.

His mood was complex. He was relieved that Shen Mingyue was safe, but vexed by what he had to do next.

"Cao Youcai!" Chen Qingdi said coldly, walking up to the bloated man.

"You called?" Cao Youcai asked, a fawning smile plastered on his face.

"Do you know why I called you over?" Chen Qingdi asked, looking at him with disdain.

"Come on now, we’re all on the same side here. Whatever it is, we can talk it out," Cao Youcai said, trying to ease the tension with a smile.

"Do you remember that debt you owe me?" Chen Qingdi asked coldly.

Cao Youcai’s face changed. He immediately understood. "This... this is all a misunderstanding..."

"A misunderstanding?" Chen Qingdi sneered, grabbing Cao Youcai by the collar. "You dare touch my woman and call it a misunderstanding? I’m going to kill you today!"

Cao Youcai’s face was pale, and he didn’t dare look Chen Qingdi in the eye. "I was set up! I had no choice!"

"Set up?" Chen Qingdi scoffed. "Are you kidding me? You were set up? Then why didn’t you tell me? Do you think I’m that easy to fool?"

Cao Youcai stammered, "I... I just didn’t think of it... I panicked..."

"You panicked, so you did this to my woman? Do you take me for a blind man?" Chen Qingdi demanded furiously.

Cao Youcai lowered his head, not daring to speak.

"Useless!" Chen Qingdi shoved Cao Youcai hard. The man stumbled back several steps, nearly falling. The onlookers all scurried out of the way.

Cao Youcai dropped to his knees. "I’m begging you..."

Looking at Cao Youcai’s ugly, groveling face, the fury in Chen Qingdi’s heart blazed.

"People like you only know how to chase profit, with no sense of responsibility! All you see is your own gain. The lives and deaths of others mean nothing to you!"

"I know I was wrong... Please, forgive me this one time..." Cao Youcai cried out. But Chen Qingdi had already walked away, ignoring him completely.

Back in his hotel room, Chen Qingdi’s mood was still heavy. He knew this wasn’t over. He had to see it through to the end.

So he picked up the phone and called his trusted statistician, Yang.

"Hello? Is that Yang? I need you to look into someone for me... Yes, that’s right, Cao Youcai," Chen Qingdi said in a low voice. Yang was one of his most trusted subordinates and worked with high efficiency. It wasn’t long before Yang called him back.

"Boss, I’ve already checked. This Cao Youcai is involved in serious tax evasion," Yang said, his voice grave.

"Good, I understand," Chen Qingdi said grimly. "Organize the files immediately and hand them over to the hearing and investigation teams."
