Chapter 800:Pull Out The Trump Card
Chapter 800: 800:Pull Out The Trump Card
But this time, Garrick did not stay down. A burst of sword energy exploded from inside the building.
SHING!
The remaining wall was cut apart as Garrick rushed out through the rubble with his sword raised. The dust had barely settled when he reached Ethan, and he swung his sword with all his remaining strength.
Ethan stepped forward instead of retreating and caught the blade with his hand.
CRACK!
The sword trembled under his grip. Garrick’s eyes widened as he immediately pushed more mana into the sword and tried to pull it free. Ethan’s fingers tightened around the blade.
CRAAACK!
The blade broke apart.
Garrick’s expression changed, but before he could react, Ethan drove his knee into his stomach.
BOOOOM!
Garrick bent forward from the impact, but he refused to fall. He grabbed Ethan’s shoulder and tried to pull him down while raising his knee toward Ethan’s chest. Ethan blocked the attack with his arm, but Garrick then headbutted him.
THUD!
Ethan’s head moved slightly from the impact. Garrick quickly followed with a punch, but Ethan caught his fist. His eyes became even colder as he grabbed the back of Garrick’s head and drove him through the remaining wall behind him.
CRASH!
Stone and broken bricks fell around them. Garrick coughed as he pushed himself away from the wall and quickly swung his broken sword at Ethan, using the remaining part of the blade like a dagger. Ethan moved his head aside, and the broken blade passed beside his face.
Garrick followed with another strike, but Ethan caught his arm. Garrick suddenly kicked Ethan in the stomach.
BOOM!
Ethan was pushed back several steps. Garrick didn’t waste the opportunity and rushed forward, punching Ethan in the chest.
BOOM!
Ethan’s body moved back. Garrick grabbed a broken piece of stone and threw it toward Ethan before rushing in behind it. Ethan knocked the stone aside, but Garrick was already there.
His fist came toward Ethan’s face.
Ethan blocked it with his forearm. The impact pushed both of them apart. Garrick breathed heavily, but his eyes remained focused. He knew he was losing, but he still refused to stop.
Ethan moved forward again.
Garrick tried to retreat, but Ethan grabbed his arm and pulled him back. He spun Garrick around and threw him across the street.
BOOM!
Garrick crashed into the ground and rolled several times. He quickly planted his hand against the ground and stopped himself before reaching the collapsed building behind him. He pushed himself up and rushed forward again.
Ethan waited for him.
Garrick swung his fist, and Ethan caught it. Garrick immediately attacked with his other hand, but Ethan blocked it. Garrick tried to knee him, but Ethan caught his leg.
For a moment, the two were locked together. Garrick struggled desperately to free himself, but Ethan’s grip only tightened. He pulled Garrick forward and drove his fist into his stomach.
BOOM!
Garrick’s feet left the ground. Ethan followed with another strike that sent him backward. Garrick crashed through another damaged structure and fell into the ruins.
He lay there for a moment, breathing heavily. Blood ran down his face as his fingers moved through the rubble and he tried to push himself up.
Ethan slowly walked toward him.
Garrick raised his arms to defend himself. Ethan grabbed both of them and pulled him away from the wall. Garrick suddenly twisted his body and tried to kick Ethan away, but Ethan caught his leg.
Garrick’s expression tightened as he tried to pull himself free.
Ethan swung him over his shoulder.
BOOM!
Garrick hit the ground. He immediately rolled away and pushed himself back up, but Ethan was already beside him. Ethan grabbed his collar.
Garrick struck Ethan’s arm with his elbow.
Ethan’s grip loosened for a moment. Garrick took the chance and drove his fist toward Ethan’s face, but Ethan tilted his head and avoided it. He then grabbed Garrick’s wrist and pulled him forward.
BOOM!
His fist slammed into Garrick’s stomach. Garrick’s body folded, and Ethan followed with another strike that sent him backward.
Garrick crashed into the ruins and fell to one knee. He tried to stand again, but his legs trembled. Still, he forced himself up.
Ethan stared at him without saying anything.
Garrick raised his fists despite his injuries. He was breathing heavily, and blood continued running down his face, but his eyes still held the will to fight.
Ethan walked toward him.
Garrick tried to move first.
Ethan grabbed him by the head and lifted him. For the first time, fear appeared in Garrick’s eyes. He struggled and struck Ethan’s arm repeatedly, trying to break free.
Ethan’s grip tightened.
Garrick kicked his legs and tried to pull Ethan’s hand away, but it didn’t work.
Then Ethan threw him straight down.
BOOOOOOM!
Garrick crashed into the ground, and the broken street collapsed beneath him. A large crater formed around his body as dust rose into the air.
Ethan landed a short distance away and slowly turned toward the crater. The battlefield became quiet for a moment as dust continued falling from the ruined buildings.
Inside the crater, Garrick’s fingers slowly moved.
Looking at the figure in such a sorry state, Ethan cracked his knuckles tightly with a soft grin.
"You are a tough nut to crack, huh!"
"Fine..It had been a long time since I hadn’t tortured someone, so I will start with you." Saying this, Ethan sprang down into the crater.
His body dropped like a stone, and the ground beneath his feet cracked the moment he landed. Dust rose around him as Ethan slowly straightened his body and looked toward Garrick, who was still struggling to move inside the crater.
Garrick forced one hand against the broken ground and pushed himself up. His breathing was rough, and blood ran down the side of his face, but his eyes were still sharp. Even in that condition, he raised his broken body and prepared himself but Ethan didn’t give him time to recover.
"It’s time to rock and roll."
...
Outside, a devastating battle was taking place between the allied forces and the Families.
Rathlos, Lancelot and Garron fought against the family heads. Their battle spread across the sky and ground as powerful attacks continued to tear through the surrounding area.
Cedric moved first.
He rushed toward Lancelot and swung his sword downward. Lancelot raised his own weapon and blocked the strike, but the force pushed him several meters backward.
At the same time, Dorian raised his hand and released several magic attacks from behind Cedric. The spells flew toward Rathlos from different directions.
Rathlos calmly stepped between them.
He avoided one attack, knocked another away with his arm and then moved directly toward Dorian. Dorian quickly raised a magic barrier, but Rathlos struck it with his fist and cracked the entire barrier.
Dorian’s expression changed.
Before Rathlos could follow up, Cedric appeared beside him and swung his sword toward Rathlos.
Rathlos turned and blocked the blade with his own weapon.
The two weapons pressed against each other for a moment before Rathlos suddenly pushed Cedric away. Cedric twisted in the air and landed safely, while Dorian immediately moved farther back and began preparing another spell.
Garron knew about Lancelot’s prowess, but he was taken aback by Rathlos managing to hold off and fend off the attacks. Rathlos was not simply defending himself. He was constantly moving between the three opponents and disrupting their attacks before they could properly work together.
Lancelot was already shaken by Ethan’s strength at the Transcendent Knight stage, and now even Rathlos was at that stage. He watched Rathlos block another attack and couldn’t hide the surprise in his eyes.
Rathlos noticed the gaze and sneered.
"What do you know about me?"
He caught Cedric’s sword with his own and pushed it away before turning his body to avoid a spell from Dorian.
"Even if you two combined your age, mine would still be more than yours."
Meanwhile, Cedric, Valen and Dorian’s expressions weren’t good.
Despite starting with a major advantage, the three of them were still finding it hard to attack through the opening. Cedric was strong enough to fight at close range, while Dorian could attack from a distance, but Rathlos and Lancelot kept disrupting their rhythm.
The main reason was because Valen wasn’t a pure fighter type. If he could fight, they might manage to push them off, but he wasn’t.
Valen stayed behind the other two and continued supporting them with healing and energy. Whenever Cedric was forced back, Valen restored his strength. Whenever Dorian’s magic started to weaken, Valen supplied him with more energy.
But that support alone wasn’t enough.
On top of that, the three enemies were clearly veteran warriors. They had spent countless years fighting and knew how to react when their opponents tried to create an opening.
Cedric swung his sword again, but Rathlos blocked it.
Dorian immediately followed with a spell from the side.
Rathlos moved away from the sword and avoided the spell at the same time. Lancelot then stepped in and attacked Cedric before he could follow Rathlos.
Cedric blocked the strike, but Dorian had already been forced to retreat.
Their attacks kept interrupting each other, and neither side could gain a clear advantage.
Most of the fight at the Transcendent stage happened like this until there was a deciding factor. At this level, one mistake could decide the entire battle, so both sides were carefully waiting for the other to make one.
Cedric finally stopped and looked at Dorian.
Dorian also understood what he meant. His expression became serious as he looked toward Valen.
Cedric tightened his grip around his sword.
"It seems we can’t go on like this..We should pull out that thing."
The moment he said this Dorian and Valen body shook.
