The beams of Light blasted over the heads of the black-dressed knights’ formation, disrupting the influx of power that was flowing toward Garrick. The strange energy that had been leaving their bodies suddenly became unstable, and the connection between them and Garrick started to weaken.

Garrick screamed angrily after seeing his plan disrupted. His face twisted with anger as he waved his hand.

The phantom behind him immediately dispersed.

All the remaining power was pulled together and squeezed into a small orb. The orb hovered in front of Garrick for a moment before locking onto Ethan.

Then it shot toward him.

Ethan saw the attack coming but did not bother to move. He simply raised his hand and formed a barrier in front of himself.

BOOM!

The orb struck the barrier.

But the next moment, it suddenly passed through it.

Ethan’s eyes widened.

The orb hit him directly.

Ethan’s body was thrown backward as he lost his ground. It felt like a loud punch had slammed into him, as if a speeding truck had rammed straight into his body. His mind became dizzy for a moment, and his vision blurred as he struggled to keep himself in the air.

"Soul attack...GAAAHH!"

He gasped for breath and grabbed his forehead. His figure swayed in the air before he finally lost control and fell toward the ground.

Ethan crashed into the broken street destroying one building after another before rolling across the ground.

A throbbing headache assaulted him as a hidden energy wreaked havoc inside his mind. He clenched his teeth and pressed his hand against his forehead while trying to understand what had just happened.

Now he understood why Garrick was able to destroy his power of Light.

It wasn’t a physical manifestation of power at all. Rather, it was the power of intent harnessed from the soul.

The phantom was formed from the battle-hardened intent of countless warriors, and all of that intent had been combined to form a huge imprint.

Just now, Garrick had sent a part of that intent directly into his soul.

Ethan had not expected a soul attack, so he had been caught off guard.

Thankfully, due to being a mage and other things, his soul was sufficiently strong. Otherwise, he might have been killed already.

Ethan squeezed his head and forced himself to remain calm. He slowly lit up his soul and pushed his own power through it, forcing the strange intent away.

"This thing...Why does it feel similar to Martial Phantom from wuxia and xinxia.."

A bad premonition welled up in his heart.

But he didn’t have time to dwell on it.

Ethan quickly moved.

A sword arc cut across the buildings where Ethan had been standing a moment ago.

Several buildings were sliced apart, and pieces of stone came crashing down into the street.

Garrick stared at Ethan with a look of newfound respect.

"You really managed to survive the attack."

There was genuine surprise in his voice as he watched Ethan slowly rise again.

"Most warriors should have been crippled by this. If not, they would have been unable to move around, but you managed to take it on."

Garrick’s grip tightened around his sword.

"You are really something else, alas we stand on opposite sides."

As he finished speaking, Garrick flashed his sword again.

BOOOM!

A loud blast erupted as the sword arc rushed toward Ethan.But Garrick’s expression suddenly changed.

Ethan was standing there.And he grabbed the sword with his bare hand.

But on second glance,it wasn’t a bare hand.

Ethan’s hand seemed to have been covered with Draconic scales. The dark scales spread across his fingers and palm, firmly holding the blade in place.

Garrick felt goosebumps crawl over his body.

Ethan slowly raised his head.

His eyes were cold as he stared directly at Garrick.

"Tell me?"

His grip tightened around the sword.

"Where did you get these techniques from?"

"Do you think you will ask and I will tel-"

Garrick hadn’t even finished his sentence when something struck him.

BOOOOM!

His body was sent flying before he could react. He crashed through a damaged building and broke through several walls before finally stopping among the rubble. Stones fell around him as he dug his fingers into the ground and forced himself to stop. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he raised his head with a sharp breath.

Before Garrick could even understand what had happened, Ethan appeared beside him. His expression was colder than before. There was no shouting or wild rage on his face. His eyes were simply filled with anger as he grabbed Garrick by the throat and pulled him out of the rubble.

Garrick immediately reacted. His hand shot toward Ethan’s face while his other hand reached for his sword. Ethan caught his wrist as while his other hand drew a sword.

CLANG!

This time, Ethan’s strength was overwhelming. Garrick gritted his teeth and pushed against him, trying to force Ethan back. His muscles tightened as he put his entire strength behind the blade. For a brief moment, Ethan’s arm was pushed back, and Garrick took the chance to twist his body and free himself from Ethan’s grip.

Ethan didn’t let him.

He twisted Garrick’s arm and forced the blade away before striking him across the face.

BOOM!

Garrick’s body spun through the air. He managed to regain control before hitting the ground and landed on one knee. His sword was still in his hand as he immediately pushed himself forward and swung it toward Ethan’s chest.

Ethan caught his wrist again.

Garrick’s eyes sharpened. He released his grip on the sword and struck forward with his free hand.

His fist hit Ethan’s shoulder and forced him slightly to the side. Garrick pulled his sword back and swung again, but Ethan blocked it.

The two blades met, and Ethan’s strength once again overwhelmed him. He twisted Garrick’s arm and forced the blade away before striking him across the face.

Garrick’s body spun through the air, but Ethan followed immediately. He caught Garrick by the leg and swung him sideways.

BOOM!

Garrick crashed through the side of a building and disappeared into the dust.
