His grip around the sword tightened, and his expression became more excited as he looked at the golden phantom.

"Now I can finally fight to my heart content."

As he spoke, the huge phantom behind him moved.Its other arm slowly extended, and a second gigantic sword formed in its hand.

Garrick now stood with twin swords in his hands.

The two massive blades carried tremendous power as he raised them both. The phantom behind him moved in the same way, raising its twin swords and preparing to attack.

On the other side, Ethan stood inside the golden Knight phantom.

The huge figure of Light surrounded his body like armor, and its golden light spread across the ruined Capital. Ethan slowly raised his hand and looked directly at Garrick.

Around them, the Capital had already been turned into a battlefield of destruction. Dust continued falling from the sky, broken buildings surrounded them, and cracks covered the ground beneath their feet.

Yet neither of them cared about the destruction anymore.

Their eyes were locked on each other.

Ethan’s expression remained calm.

"Bring it on."

The two huge phantoms rushed toward each other once again.

Garrick’s phantom raised its twin swords and swung them from both sides, while Ethan’s golden Knight phantom brought its single large sword forward to block. The three massive blades met in the middle of the ruined Capital, and the ground beneath them cracked from the pressure.

CLANG!

Ethan’s phantom was pushed backward.

It dragged its feet across the broken street and quickly adjusted its stance before Garrick’s phantom could follow up. One of the twin swords came down toward its head, but the golden Knight raised its sword and caught the attack.

The second sword came from the side.

Ethan quickly moved the golden Knight’s body backward, and the blade passed close to its chest. He then swung his large sword upward and forced Garrick’s phantom to pull one of its swords away.

For a moment, both phantoms stood facing each other.

Then Garrick’s phantom stepped forward.

Its twin swords moved in quick succession, one aiming at the chest while the other went toward the legs. Ethan blocked the first strike, but the second forced the golden Knight to jump back.

The ruined ground beneath it shattered when it landed.

Ethan’s eyes remained focused.

He controlled the golden Knight and brought the large sword down with both hands.

Garrick’s phantom crossed its twin swords above its head.

The golden sword slammed into the crossed blades and forced the phantom down several meters. Cracks spread across the ground beneath its feet, but it managed to hold its position.

Garrick’s eyes sharpened.

The phantom suddenly twisted its body and pushed Ethan’s sword away.

One sword immediately came toward the golden Knight’s neck.

Ethan pulled back.

The blade passed through the space where its head had been a moment earlier.

He tried to counterattack, but the second sword was already coming from the opposite side.

Ethan moved the golden Knight’s large sword to block it.

The force pushed the golden phantom sideways.

Ethan gritted his teeth.

He had barely regained control when the first sword came down again.

The golden Knight raised its blade.

A thin crack appeared across the sword of Light.

"What!"

Ethan was taken aback.

The pieces of golden Light scattered from the Knight’s hand and disappeared into the air.

Garrick’s phantom immediately took advantage of the opening.

Ethan moved the golden Knight aside just before the twin swords cut through the space where it had been standing. He quickly gathered Light around its hand and formed another large sword.

But Garrick’s phantom had already closed the distance.

One of its swords pierced straight through the shoulder of the golden Knight phantom.

The golden body shook from the impact.

"Damn! Why is this guy phantom so sharp and strong.."

Ethan’s gaze lingered on the sword buried inside the shoulder. He then looked past the phantom and toward Garrick below.

Behind him, the black-dressed knights were still standing in formation.

The strange energy continued leaving their bodies and flowing into Garrick.

Ethan’s expression changed slightly.

It seems the combined strength was enabling its strength.

The more energy that flowed into Garrick, the stronger the phantom became. Ethan could now understand why its sword was able to break through his Light so easily.

He tried to pull the golden Knight away.

But Garrick’s phantom did not allow it.

The second sword swung toward the damaged shoulder.

Ethan hurriedly raised the large sword to block, but the first sword was still lodged inside the phantom.

The second blade struck.

The phantom staggered backward as pieces of Light scattered from its body.

A large piece of Light broke away.

They suddenly split apart and spread across the area. In the next moment, the sparks turned into countless beams that began falling toward the ground.

Garrick immediately realized their target.

"Nooooo!"

He roared and moved at once.

His phantom rushed forward with its twin swords raised. Garrick swung both blades through the air, trying to intercept the falling beams before they reached his knights.

But the distance was too great.

The first beam struck the ground.

A huge explosion swallowed several black-dressed knights.

Before the dust could settle, more beams came down.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ground erupted in different places as the Light tore through the formation. The black-clad knights were thrown away, and the strange energy that had been flowing toward Garrick suddenly began to disappear.

Garrick’s face turned pale.

"No!"

He swung his swords again, but the shower of Light continued falling.

One beam after another struck the battlefield, tearing apart the ground and destroying the source of the strange power that had been strengthening his phantom.

Garrick stared through the explosions with disbelief.

He finally understood what Ethan had done.

Instead of trying to defeat the phantom directly, Ethan had gone after the black-dressed knights that were supplying it with power.
