Chapter 797:Martial Phantom
Chapter 797: 797:Martial Phantom
Inside the barrier, Ethan moved toward Garrick once again, his sword firmly held in his hand as he prepared to attack. His eyes remained cold as he gathered his strength, but before he could get any closer, an invisible force suddenly struck him.
BOOOOM!
Ethan was swatted away as if he had been hit by something massive. His body flew through the air and crashed into the ground, creating a deep crater. Dust rose around him as he slid across the broken ground.
Ethan shook his head and slowly raised it.
His eyes immediately fell on Garrick.
But something had changed.
A figure was slowly condensing behind Garrick.
"What’s going on?" Ethan asked as he looked around, trying to understand what was happening.
Then he noticed them.
Black-geared knights from various places seemed to be lining up behind Garrick. They stood completely still while holding their swords. Their bodies were covered in black armor, and there was not a single movement from them.
Then, a strange energy erupted from their bodies.
Wisps of energy began flowing out from the knights and moved toward Garrick. The energy entered his body and continued gathering around him.
Ethan’s eyes narrowed.
As the strange energy continued flowing, a human figure slowly began forming behind Garrick. It overlapped with his body and gradually took shape.
A knight.
Its facial expression was almost the same as Garrick’s.
"This...The energy that is flowing. It doesn’t seem to look like that of mana, rather..."
Ethan stared at the wisps carefully. He could feel something strange from them. The energy felt similar to soul power.
For some reason, it also felt familiar to him.
But he could not identify it.
Ethan shook his head and stopped thinking about it for the moment. His gaze returned to Garrick, and his eyes became cold.
Garrick raised his huge sword and pointed it toward Ethan.
"Ethan!"
His loud voice echoed inside the barrier.
"I will give you a chance."
"Surrender and work for me..It would be a waste for you to die here.."
"????"
Question marks appeared on Ethan’s face.
Garrick seemed to think Ethan was too stunned to speak, so he continued while looking at him seriously.
"You are too young to die here. You have quite a lot of life ahead. It’s okay to bow."
"Shut up!" Ethan shouted, clearly sick of the bullshit.
His expression became cold as he looked at Garrick.
"I didn’t even want to finish you all, but your atrocities had gone overboard!"
Ethan then looked toward the black-geared knights. His eyes narrowed as he sensed the strange energy coming from their bodies.
"These knights...I don’t know what kind of inhuman method you have used to turn them into this. I can’t even feel any sense of life from them."
"It’s just some worthy sacrifice for a bigger cause." Garrick added.
"Bigger cause...What bigger cause? You are saying as if you are going to pacify the world or something." Ethan snorted.
"Their bigger cause is to serve us. It has always been like this. Weaker ones serve the stronger ones. Isn’t it the same for you."
Ethan grabbed his head, feeling a deep headache.
He closed his eyes for a moment before slowly lowering his hand. He was clearly tired of listening to Garrick’s words.
"I ain’t gonna waste my time arguing with you. You already have lost it, so bring it on."
Garrick shook his head, displeased by Ethan’s answer.
He tightened his grip around the huge sword and slowly moved it.The strange figure behind him moved along with him.
Then, Garrick swung his sword.
A huge sword light tore across the sky and came straight down at Ethan.
The gigantic sword came rushing down toward Ethan with terrifying speed.
BOOOOOOOM!
The moment it struck the Capital, a huge slash spread across the ground. The streets were split apart in an instant, and the stone beneath them was torn open as the sword continued cutting through everything in its path. Buildings were sliced in half, walls collapsed, and entire sections of roads were buried beneath the falling debris.
BOOOOM! BOOOOM!
The force of the attack continued spreading through the Capital. Houses and shops near the impact were crushed under the shockwave, while windows shattered across the surrounding buildings. Large pieces of stone were thrown into the air, and several buildings began collapsing one after another as their foundations were destroyed.
The ground shook violently.
Cracks spread through the streets like a spider web, and some parts of the road sank into the ground. Dust and debris covered the area as people desperately tried to escape from the destruction. The once crowded streets were now filled with broken walls, fallen stones, and burning remains.
The sword slash had cut deep into the Capital, leaving behind a massive scar that stretched across the city.
Clouds of dust and debris rose high into the sky, covering the entire area and making it difficult to see anything.
Garrick stood in the middle of the destruction and stared ahead. His clothes moved from the remaining wind as he looked through the thick clouds of dust, trying to find Ethan.
Then, something suddenly appeared inside the dust.
A huge golden light hand emerged from the clouds.
CLANG!
The hand caught the gigantic sword and stopped it in midair.
The impact caused another shockwave to spread across the ruined streets. Broken stones were lifted from the ground and thrown away as the golden light pushed against the sword.
Garrick’s eyes widened slightly as the golden light began to spread from the hand. A huge humanoid figure made entirely of Light slowly emerged from behind it.
The figure was enormous, and its body covered a large part of the ruined area. Golden light flowed across its body while its massive hand continued holding back the sword.
The golden humanoid figure pushed its hand forward.
BOOOOM!
The gigantic sword was forced backward.
The force pushed the sword away and sent another wave of dust through the ruined streets. Several damaged buildings collapsed completely under the pressure, sending more debris crashing onto the ground.
Garrick stared at the golden figure for a moment.
But instead of being surprised, a look of excitement shone in his eyes.
"I didn’t know you had such means but its okay."
