Chapter 279:The Hidden Masters 2

Chapter 279: 279:The Hidden Masters 2

While a tense and deadly situation prevailed outside the mansion, the atmosphere inside was completely different.

It was bursting with excitement.

“Wooooow!” Nera jumped up from the couch and clapped her hands loudly.

“Big mother looks so cool!” she shouted, eyes sparkling.

Beside her, Miranda and Ray stood frozen, mouths slightly open, unable to blink.

“That’s so cool!” Leon shouted, sweeping his hands through the air like he was throwing spells himself.

“These kids…” Sophia muttered, pressing her fingers against her throbbing forehead.

The moment the explosions echoed outside, the children started howling that they wanted to see the fight.

Even though everyone knew it was dangerous, none of them budged. No matter what, they wanted to watch.

“It’s okay,” Diana said with a soft smile. “Everyone loves watching a fight.”

“Yes,” Lia added, her eyes glowing as she stared toward the rooftop. “Especially Sister Rina. She looks so cool.”

Sophia paused and glanced at Rina’s figure outside.

For a brief moment, jealousy bubbled up in her chest. Not because of Ethan’s love or anything like that.

She just wanted to look that cool too.

’Ahhh, Ethan… It’s your fault,’ she complained inwardly. ’Why didn’t you train me harder?’

If Ethan heard this, he would probably jump off his seat screaming that he had dragged her everywhere to train.

Sadly, Sophia was a knight, not a mage. She could not just read books and get stronger.

“Aahh! Look… fireworks…” Sally mumbled incoherently as another explosion lit up the sky.

…..

Outside, the night seemed to burn.

Dazzling flames burst into existence, swirling and condensing into a massive spear of pure fire. The heat distorted the air, and the ground trembled beneath it.

“You dared to disturb the peace of Blanks,” Rina said calmly, her voice carrying killing intent.

“Now you can die!”

She waved her hand.

The flaming spear shot forward with terrifying force, tearing through the night like judgment itself.

“Howwww?”

“Just howww?”

That was all the two assassins could manage to say.

Their minds felt like they had been smashed apart. Everything they believed made no sense anymore.

’How did the Blanks family produce three Master ranks?’ one of them thought in disbelief.

“FUCKKK!”

“Are you alright committing treason and trying to rebel?” one assassin screamed, unable to accept this absurd reality.

Rina did not care.

Unlike Hall and Noel, who had broken through using potions and still lacked stability, Rina had advanced under Emma’s guidance. Her power was refined, controlled, and deadly.

She lifted both hands.

A ring of fire bloomed behind her, splitting into dozens of flame lances that hovered silently in the air.

With a sharp flick of her fingers, they shot forward.

The assassins dodged desperately, twisting their bodies mid-air as flames grazed their cloaks and scorched their skin.

One lance exploded near their feet, blasting them upward.

Before they could regain balance, Rina stepped forward and slammed her palm down.

A wave of fire crashed into the ground, rolling forward like a burning tide. The earth cracked and melted as it chased them.

“Damn it!” one assassin cursed, rolling aside just in time.

Hall appeared from the left, his blade flashed as he struck. One assassin blocked, sparks flying, but Noel followed from the right, forcing him back.

The three of them moved in rhythm.

Rina controlled the battlefield, cutting off escape routes with walls of fire while Hall and Noel pressed from both sides.

Another spell formed above Rina’s head.

A spiraling flame sphere compressed until it screamed, then she released it.

The explosion sent one assassin flying into a wall, bones cracking loudly.

The second assassin tried to flee, feet pushing off the ground with desperate speed.

“You think you can run?” Rina said coldly.

She snapped her fingers.

A chain of ice burst from the ground, wrapping around both assassins’ ankles with a sharp crack.

They slammed to the ground, struggling, frost spreading rapidly up their legs.

The two exchanged a glance.

They clenched their teeth and began burning their life force, veins bulging as power surged wildly.

Before they could finish, Hall appeared behind them.

His blade rose and fell twice. Two heads rolled across the shattered ground.

The battlefield fell silent, and flames slowly died down.

Rina lowered her hand, her expression calm as if nothing extraordinary had happened.

Seeing the battle there was over, Duke Phillips turned toward the remaining assassin.

“So, what were you saying?” he asked calmly, his sword resting at his side.

“Hhhuhmm…” the assassin tried to speak, but his body was already twisted at an unnatural angle, bones crushed and joints dislocated.

“I am an experienced veteran, unlike them,” Duke Phillips continued coldly. “So do you really think you can commit suicide or take poison?”

The assassin’s eyes trembled in fear.

Phillips then turned his head slightly. “How is it over there?”

“Here!” Emma’s voice answered.

A figure was thrown across the ground, rolling several times before stopping. His mouth was sealed shut and both arms were bent backward at grotesque angles.

“I made sure he is completely broken,” Emma said flatly.

Two figures materialized beside them, kneeling briefly.

“Good work,” Duke Phillips said, still dazed. “For new Master ranks, you acted quite well.”

He shook his head slightly.

’Ethan hid things far deeper than I thought,’ he realized. ’What a frightening calculation.’

“Now inform him quickly,” Phillips ordered.

Hall nodded and pulled out a crystal ball communicator, channeling his mana.

“My Lord, we have taken care of the intruders,” Hall reported.

Inside the prison chamber, Simon stared at Ethan with a beast-like gaze.

“Aren’t you a little worried?” Simon sneered.

“Why would I—” Ethan paused and calmly pulled out a crystal ball. “Here. Listen for yourself.”

“My Lord, we have taken care of the intruders,” the voice echoed.

Simon’s eyes widened in horror.

He looked at Ethan as if demanding an explanation, but Ethan simply ignored him.

“Any remnants?” Ethan asked.

“Yes. His Highness Duke Phillips and Duchess Emma captured the ones they fought,” the voice replied. “The other two who came to assassinate us have been killed.”

“Good,” Ethan said calmly. “Now torture the captured one and see if you can extract any additional information.”

“Youuu!” Simon roared, veins bulging on his forehead as humiliation and rage surged.

Ethan cut off the connection and looked at the Adventure Guild Master.

“So, what do you want to do now?” Ethan asked softly.

“Guess,” he added with a faint smile.

That smile, which could charm any lady, felt terrifying to Simon.
