Origin Summoner: All My Summons Are Broken
Chapter 82: Is He Crazy???!!
Chapter
"Look..."
One of them pointed toward the street, drawing everyone’s attention back to the battle.
"He’s not being overwhelmed."
What they saw made their mouths slowly fall open, and a collective gasp escaped the group as they finally realized what was happening.
The monsters were the ones being overwhelmed.
Orion was dominating the battle with such ease that it could hardly be called a real fight. He was using nothing but his bare hands, yet the Webfiends couldn’t even force him to retreat, and his movements were so controlled that it almost seemed as though he were putting on a demonstration for an audience.
He moved his head slightly, allowing a bladed limb to sweep past his cheek, then shifted his body to avoid another attack aimed at his ribs. When a third strike came toward him, he took a small step to the side, letting the blade pass harmlessly beside him.
The movements were minimal, barely anything at all, yet each one was enough to evade an attack that could have killed an ordinary person.
Orion studied the monsters with a calm gaze, showing no intention of rushing or wasting energy. He simply waited for an opening, and the moment one appeared, he struck without hesitation.
His fist shot forward.
BOOM!
The punch landed directly against the Webfiend’s body, forcing its torso to bend under the impact as a horrible cracking sound echoed through the street. Before the monster could even scream in pain, another force slammed into it as Orion followed through with a second strike.
The Webfiend’s head snapped violently to the side, and its body collapsed almost immediately.
Dead.
The entire exchange happened so quickly that the people watching could barely follow it. One moment, the Webfiend was attacking, and the next, it was lying motionless on the ground.
The remaining monsters responded with furious growls, their eyes burning with bloodlust as they rushed toward Orion and launched a relentless barrage of attacks.
Bladed limbs tore through the air, their sharp points aimed at his head, chest, and abdomen. One monster attacked from the front while another moved around his side, attempting to catch him off guard, and a third lunged toward his back to prevent him from escaping.
Their attacks were vicious. Had an ordinary warrior been caught in the middle of such an assault, they would have struggled to defend themselves, let alone find an opportunity to counterattack.
But Orion wasn’t an ordinary warrior.
His body moved with astonishing precision as he lowered his head beneath one blade, pivoted on his foot, and allowed another attack to pass over his shoulder. Rather than retreating, he stepped forward and drove his fist directly into the first Webfiend’s face.
CRACK!
The monster’s head snapped backward. Before its body could even fall, Orion twisted his waist and drove his elbow into the chest of the second monster, sending it staggering away from him.
A third Webfiend immediately attempted to exploit the opening, thrusting its bladed limb toward Orion’s side, but he saw the attack coming and shifted just enough to avoid the blade. Using the monster’s forward momentum against it, he drove his knee upward into its torso.
BOOM!
The Webfiend was launched backward, its body crashing into the ground and rolling several times before finally coming to a stop.
Orion didn’t wait for it to recover before moving toward the next opponent, his fist cutting through the air as another blow landed and another monster fell.
The battlefield became a blur of movement, with Orion slipping between the Webfiends as though he were following a carefully rehearsed routine. He didn’t need to rely on brute force alone, since his understanding of their movements allowed him to exploit every weakness they exposed.
He knew when they were about to strike, which direction they would move, and how their bodies shifted before they launched their attacks. Origin Eyes had already analyzed their fighting styles, while Origin Mind allowed him to apply that knowledge with frightening efficiency.
Every movement became a calculated decision, every counterattack was directed toward a vulnerable point, and every blow carried enough force to inflict devastating damage.
The Webfiends continued attacking, their roars growing louder as their frustration mounted. They couldn’t understand why they were losing, especially when their opponents were supposed to be prey.
Humans were supposed to be weak.
And yet, this particular human was treating them like practice targets.
One Webfiend lunged toward Orion with both bladed limbs raised, attempting to cut him down with a powerful downward strike. Orion leaned backward, allowing the attack to pass over him, then smoothly stepped inside the monster’s reach before it could recover.
His fist struck its abdomen, causing the creature to double over in pain, and he immediately followed with an upward strike that connected with its jaw.
CRACK!
The Webfiend was thrown backward, crashing into the side of a building with enough force to make its body slump against the wall.
Before the remaining monsters could react, Orion had already turned toward them, his expression peaceful and his breathing steady. There wasn’t even a hint of strain on his face, despite the number of opponents he had just fought.
The difference in their strength was simply too great.
And as a wise man had once said, understanding one’s opponent was the first step toward victory. Orion had already understood these monsters better than they understood themselves, and when that knowledge was combined with his overwhelming attributes, Origin Eyes, Origin Mind, and the other advantages granted by his Reawakening, the outcome had practically been decided before the fight could properly begin.
Although this battle provided slightly more stimulation than the previous one, it still wasn’t enough to place Orion in any real danger. He was simply too skilled, too fast, and too powerful for these monsters to pose a serious threat.
A few more exchanges followed before the final Webfiend collapsed.
Silence briefly settled over the street as Orion glanced at the bodies scattered around him.
Another easy victory.
Ding!
[9 Webfiends have been slain.]
[9 EXP gained.]
Orion barely paid attention to the notification. Instead, he turned his head toward the street food shop, where the people inside had been watching the entire battle through the windows.
The moment they realized the monsters were dead, their expressions changed dramatically, and cheers erupted from within the building.
"He’s done it!"
"The monsters are dead!"
"We’re saved!"
Some people hurried toward the windows, while others cautiously made their way outside, eager to see the warrior who had just saved their lives.
The old man who had scolded the others earlier wore an expression of undisguised satisfaction. Looking toward the young man who had argued with him, he couldn’t resist reminding everyone of what he had said.
"See?! I told you to shut your mouths and watch!"
The young man could only stare in silence, having no idea what to say. The man he had called stupid had just slaughtered a group of monsters with his bare hands, and he had done it with such ease that the entire display was almost insulting.
Meanwhile, Orion gave the cheering people a small wave, showing little interest in their praise.
After all, he hadn’t saved them because he wanted to be called a hero. He had simply wanted to fight, and the fact that he had managed to save a few lives along the way was an added benefit.
Still, it was nice to know that his little experiment hadn’t been entirely unproductive.
With that thought, Orion bent his knees slightly before jumping into the air.
His body shot upward, carrying him toward the rooftops, where he landed on one building before pushing off again and continuing from one rooftop to another. His movements were swift and effortless, allowing him to cover the distance in a matter of moments.
Eventually, he reached the tallest building in the area, giving him a much wider view of the city.
Orion stood at the edge of the rooftop and looked around, but the smile on his face gradually faded as he took in the situation below.
Something wasn’t right.
The monsters seemed to have spread throughout the city, moving through different streets and attacking anything they encountered. Worse still, their numbers didn’t appear to be decreasing. If anything, it looked as though more of them were appearing with every passing minute.
Orion frowned.
Why are there so many of them?
He scanned the surrounding area, trying to get a clearer picture of the situation, but the sight of so many monsters roaming freely through the streets only raised another question.
And why does it seem like there aren’t any warriors stopping them?
Surely, a city like Daylight City should have enough awakened warriors to respond to a dungeon break. Yet, from his current position, he could see countless monsters moving through the streets with little resistance, leaving him wondering why nobody had stepped forward to deal with them.
It didn’t make sense.
Of course, there were warriors in the city. However, most of the available fighters had already joined Katherine at the dungeon, while the few warriors who remained in Daylight City had gathered at the city lord’s bunker in preparation for the approaching siege.
The city’s defenses were being stretched thin, and with so many monsters spreading through the streets, there simply weren’t enough warriors available to deal with every threat.
Orion didn’t know any of those details, but he could clearly see the result.
People were in danger, the monsters were continuing to spread, and if nobody stopped them, the situation would only become worse.
His expression grew serious.
I guess I have to speed things up.
He had initially intended to take his time, enjoy himself, and test his new powers against as many monsters as possible. That had been the entire point of coming out to fight in the first place, but his plans had changed now that he understood just how widespread the disaster had become.
He didn’t want innocent people to lose their lives simply because he had decided to have some fun.
Orion fell silent for a moment, considering the situation before asking himself a simple question.
Would I want people to die just because I wanted to have fun?
The answer came with the same calm certainty as always.
No. I wouldn’t.
His gaze sharpened as he made his decision.
It was time to stop playing around.
He had already tested his daggers, examined his physical strength, and even fought without weapons. Now, it was time to get serious and make use of an ability that could help him deal with the growing number of monsters much more efficiently.
Orion reached into his storage and brought out the Golden Mirror.
The mysterious treasure appeared in his hand, its surface gleaming as it reflected the light around him. He examined it briefly, recalling the information he knew about its capabilities.
This was the Mythical Treasure capable of producing perfect clones of the person who shattered it, with each clone possessing seventy percent of the original’s abilities, skills, and total combat strength.
The stronger the person who broke it, the more fragments and clones it could produce. And if he remembered correctly, the clones would remain until he canceled the transformation, at which point they would return to being mirror fragments and reconstruct the original treasure.
It was an absurdly powerful item.
However, there was one small problem.
He had to break it first.
Orion tightened his grip around the mirror before throwing a punch without hesitation.
BANG!
His fist struck the surface with considerable force, and the impact echoed across the rooftop. However, when he pulled his hand back to examine the treasure, he found that its surface remained completely intact.
There wasn’t even a single scratch.
Orion frowned slightly before shaking his head.
It seems this thing will only break when it’s struck with enough force.
That was understandable. After all, it was a Mythical Treasure, and it would be rather disappointing if something of that caliber could be shattered by an ordinary punch.
If that was what the mirror required, then Orion would simply give it what it wanted. He wasn’t going to let a little difficulty stop him from using such a powerful treasure.
His eyes sharpened as the blue dagger appeared in his left hand.
The moment he grasped the weapon, its power surged through him, doubling his physical attributes and dramatically increasing his strength.
Orion glanced at the Golden Mirror before tossing it into the air.
The treasure spun upward, its golden surface reflecting the sky as it rose above him. At the same time, he activated his Telekinesis, gathering a powerful invisible force around the mirror and holding it suspended in the air.
He had no intention of letting it fall before he could strike it properly.
His gaze remained fixed on the treasure as he considered the amount of force he could now exert.
Earlier, he had punched it with a physical attribute of 50, which had been the limit of his strength without any additional boosts. However, things were different now that he had the blue dagger.
With the weapon doubling his physical attributes, his strength had risen to 100. When he combined that with his Telekinesis, which allowed him to exert five times his base force, the power he could bring to bear reached an astonishing equivalent of 300 in physical force.
Three hundred!
That was six times the strength behind his original punch.
Orion remained calm as he focused his mind, keeping the Golden Mirror suspended in the air with Telekinesis while his left hand held the blue dagger. He drew back his right fist, allowing the invisible force to gather around his arm and amplify the power behind his movements.
For a brief moment, he focused entirely on the treasure hovering before him.
Then Orion punched.
BANG!
His fist shot forward with overwhelming force, and the air itself seemed to tremble as the blow connected with the Golden Mirror.
A sharp cracking sound rang out.
The mirror’s surface finally gave way, and in the very next second, the Golden Mirror shattered into two pieces.
