Chapter 240: 240: Suspicious S Rank Monster

As they stepped out of the meeting hall, Commander Lynn turned to Ayra.

"This could be dangerous. Are you sure you want to come at all...?" he asked worriedly, his gaze dropping toward her stomach.

Lord Vale nodded as well. "That’s true... This is an S-rank monster. It’s unpredictable..."

But Ayra smiled and nodded. "Let me observe at least... I might have an idea of what to do."

She explained, making them hesitate for a moment before Lord Zark finally spoke.

"Let’s go. I’ll protect her."

"Me too." Lord Ash agreed as they all looked at Ayra.

Nyx folded his arms. "Let’s go before the monster leaves."

Immediately, they turned and made their way toward the scene.

When they arrived, they were rather shocked to find Ally and the little ones already there. Ayra instantly rushed over to them as the triplet snakes gathered around her, holding onto her legs.

"What happened...? Why are you here?" Ayra asked, staring at Zay in Ally’s arms. "What happened to him?"

Ally shook her head as she explained, "...But he’s safe. Nothing happened to him."

Ayra let out a deep sigh of relief. She crouched down and took her time checking on all three of her cubs, making sure they were completely fine.

And when that was confirmed, she finally turned toward the scene to see what was happening.

The tribe lords, along with Commander Lynn and Nyx, were standing at the front with the warrior beastmen, all confidently facing the giant green snake.

"I guess it came faster than expected, before we even had time to prepare," Commander Lynn explained.

"I guess that’s fine too. At least we don’t have to waste time waiting for it..." Nyx said as they stared at the giant snake monster, which was stepping backward as though it were trying to run away from something.

The bruises were still visible across its body, while the snake cautiously looked around as though searching for a way to escape.

Lord Zark looked around before turning his attention back to the monster.

"You’re alone..." He stared at the snake. "I thought you’d come with your group if you wanted to take us all by surprise."

Lord Ash pulled out his weapon. "And why should we wait for its reinforcements to arrive before we strike? We should take the opportunity before it does something funny here."

In agreement, the beastmen around them remained alert as Lord Vale raised his voice.

"Take that monster down now!"

At his command, the beastmen all rushed toward the monster with their weapons raised.

The snake hissed hard as it stepped backward. When the beastmen attacked, the snake only defended itself.

It dodged their attacks while using its tail to sweep them away. Some were even struck by its large tail and sent stumbling backward.

The tribe lords, Commander Lynn, and Nyx stood at a distance, watching the scene while waiting for the perfect opportunity to make their own move.

But as they watched, they became increasingly shocked and confused by the sequence of the fight.

Only their men were actively advancing and attacking. The snake wasn’t fighting back.

Rather, it was simply defending itself, mildly using its tail to brush the beastmen away without making any serious attempt to attack them.

"Is it just me, or do I think this S-rank monster is being too lenient...?" Lord Ash raised an eyebrow as he observed the scene.

Nyx slowly nodded in agreement. "It’s an S-rank monster. It could have taken them all down ages ago if it wanted to... So why is it not doing that?"

"It’s not even using its venom at all..." Lord Vale observed. "I think something is wrong."

"Or is this some sort of plan from it...?" Commander Lynn asked as they tried to understand what was happening.

"It’s clear it doesn’t want to fight back at all."

Ayra stepped closer to the scene, standing beside her mates as she stared at the monster.

They all turned to her as she continued, "I have a feeling that it’s more than we think. The S-rank snake monster was never here to attack us."

She paused before explaining further. "From the very beginning, if they wanted to attack us, they would have done it. They could have harmed the little ones. They could have killed whoever they wanted..."

Ayra hesitated as she looked at the injured monster.

"But they didn’t do any of that. It’s as though they’re being cautious and always trying to run away... They haven’t harmed anyone so far."

Nyx slowly nodded. "So what do you think the issue is?"

Ayra sighed. "I might not be certain, but I want to try something..."

She turned to them. "So watch my back."

None of them opposed her. They knew she was up to something that might actually work, so they nodded and surrounded Ayra protectively as she stepped forward.

Ayra stared at the monster for a while before signaling the beastmen who were attacking it to stop.

Confused, the beastmen paused. They looked at one another before slowly stepping backward, watching to see what Ayra would do.

The scene suddenly grew calm.

The giant snake monster stared down at Ayra, breathing heavily as it cautiously moved backward. Its golden eyes remained fixed on her, as though trying to understand what she was planning.

Ayra slowly approached the monster. Her eyes remained fixed on the curious creature as she gave it a tender smile.

She looked warm and welcoming, so different from the hostile beastmen surrounding it that the monster seemed unsure of what to expect.

"You’re going to get hurt if this continues... More hurt. You’re already injured," Ayra said gently as she stretched out her hands toward the monster.

Her pheromones were already working, dispersing a calming energy throughout the atmosphere. The monster slowly felt its nerves settle, while the pain from its injuries began to soften.

It inhaled and exhaled, staring down at Ayra while trying to understand what she was up to.

But Ayra only smiled, keeping her hands stretched toward it.

"Come... I’ll heal your injuries."
