Chapter 239: 239: S Rank Monster.

That night, Ally and her siblings were sitting around the fireplace.

Ayra and their fathers had let them go out that night for some fresh air, under the condition that they had security beastmen keeping an eye on them.

So Ally sat with the triplet snake cubs and the dragon gathered around her, watching as she told them stories by the fireplace. The security beastmen stood around them with their arms folded, keeping a close eye on them.

"Tell us another one," Neris said as soon as she finished one story. The snake cubs moved closer, eager to hear every part of it.

Zay was sitting at the edge, not too far from them.

"Yes. Tell us another one. We want to hear more," Nat said, tilting his head as he sat close.

Ally sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Hmmm, I think I’ve said all I know... At least I’ve told you all that I remember Mama telling me..."

Nyeon sighed. "Please tell us another. We don’t want to go in and sleep yet..." He turned and stared at the security beastmen, who were standing nearby and waiting for the time to take them in once they were done with their stories.

Neris nodded. "Yes. Tell us another one. The one with the great lion or something..."

Ally sighed as she thought. "Hmmm, okay. Let’s see..."

While she thought of what else to say, Zay sat quietly at the edge, watching and listening to them.

But as he did, he suddenly felt something.

While his siblings were busy listening to the stories, Zay stared into the distance. His attention shifted toward the bushes nearby.

Zay had felt something. He didn’t know what to make of it, but he was sure he had sensed something there. He remained seated for a while, staring toward the bushes without paying attention to the conversation anymore.

Soon, he felt the need to get closer.

While the others remained occupied with their stories and the security beastmen were distracted by them, Zay quietly made his way out.

He sneaked away without anyone noticing and headed toward the bushes to confirm the strange feeling he had gotten.

Zay got closer to the bushes and looked around. Instantly, he felt the energy growing stronger. Whatever he had sensed was close, and his eyes began to focus on a particular spot.

He stared for a while.

Then suddenly, something moved.

A green snake slowly crawled out of the bushes, appearing right before his eyes.

Just like that, Zay found himself standing before a green snake that was almost his size. The snake had golden eyes and was staring directly at him.

Their eyes locked for a while in silence, with Zay staring at the creature as though studying it.

Instantly, the snake turned and attempted to run back into the bushes, but Zay wasn’t going to let it escape.

Alert, Zay stepped closer and opened his mouth, breathing out flames as fire burst into the scene.

The flames from his mouth rushed into the bushes and caught the snake before it could escape.

The snake jumped at the harsh flames coming toward it. This dragon cub certainly wasn’t just anyone.

His flames were harsh and dangerous, and even the snake knew it had to protect itself. In an attempt to do so, the snake took its full form.

Its body suddenly grew into a giant figure, towering before Zay and causing him to stagger backward.

But Zay didn’t stop.

The little dragon stepped backward while continuing to send flames toward the snake. The great snake was affected by the flames, hissing hard as it moved backward in defense.

The commotion quickly attracted attention.

Everyone nearby realized something had happened and began moving toward the scene. It wasn’t too far away, so Ally and the security beastmen could already see the giant snake in the distance, hissing and violently moving around.

"Zay!" Ally instantly called as she got to her feet and rushed toward the scene.

Zay was still there, fighting against the snake with his flames. He confidently sent his flames toward it, and none of them missed. The fire struck the snake, forcing it backward in pain.

But it was too dangerous.

Ally immediately pulled Zay away from the scene, carrying him firmly in her arms as she moved him backward.

"Stay away from it. It’s not safe at all!" Ally said firmly.

Zay wanted to protest and continue fighting, but she held him tightly while stepping farther away.

The triplet snakes also wanted to step forward and fight, but Ally immediately snapped at them.

"Listen to me now! Step back and stay away! It’s not safe at all!"

"But..." Nat tried to speak, but Ally cut him off firmly.

"Listen to me now."

As the eldest child and daughter, Ally’s words carried enough weight that they had no choice but to listen and step backward.

The security beastmen instantly rushed into the scene, positioning themselves before the children alongside other warrior beastmen to protect them.

They pulled out their weapons, ready to attack, while Ally and the cubs continued moving backward.

More beastmen soon flooded into the scene, with the brave ones rushing to the front to protect the little ones from the monster.

Others stayed back, carefully observing what was happening.

The snake hissed loudly and mightily. Still affected by the burns from Zay’s flames, it struggled to stand firmly as the beastmen prepared for the impending attack.

The beastmen stared closely at the giant creature right before their eyes.

"This is a powerful S-rank monster!" one of them said.

"So be careful! We can’t be careless, or it’ll kill us!" another warned while they cautiously made their way around the monster.

*****

And while they panicked over the scene, Ayra and the rest had already heard the commotion from where they were in the meeting hall.

Without hesitation, they got up and rushed out towards the scene to know what we happening.
