"Huh?"

Nyx snapped back to his senses. He was so shocked by Ayra’s words that he instantly staggered backward, nearly falling over.

"What are you talking about...?" he snapped as he stared down at himself and finally felt it.

It was already hard and standing, close enough to make its way out of the water.

Shame and panic flushed across Nyx’s face as he instantly covered himself with both hands. He stared at Ayra in disbelief. "What... What are you talking about, you...?"

Ayra smiled and shook her head.

"Shameless..." he muttered as he turned away. "You’re safe now... I should get going. Enjoy your bath alone."

He instantly rushed out of the water, grabbed his loincloth, and quickly wrapped it around his waist as he hurried away from the scene, his face still flushed with embarrassment.

Ayra couldn’t stop laughing. She found the whole scene rather cute and funny, especially with Nyx’s cat ears standing tall in embarrassment and his cheeks turning bright red.

"Cute," she muttered.

Just then, the system beeped right before her.

[Congratulations, Host! Nyx’s Affection Level has massively improved.]

[Rewards: More bottles of Hyper Baby Milk restocked.]

[Keep it up, Host!]

Ayra smiled as she stared through the screen. "I guess that will be a necessity for keeping these little ones in check while also helping them grow well."

She shook her head before turning to stare at Zay, who was still sitting there and watching her. He had been so quiet that she had almost forgotten he was still there.

"Mama is so pretty," Zay said while sitting there and observing her.

Ayra couldn’t help but blush as she smiled back at her little one. "Is that so? Thanks, darling. You too."

Zay slowly smiled back at her.

Ayra’s smile widened. Her little dragon rarely smiled, but whenever he did, he was so adorable and tiny that she wanted to throw him into her pocket and keep him safe forever.

"You should smile more. Don’t be like Dad, who rarely smiles. Okay?" she said while Zay sat there staring at her, still smiling.

She shook her head with a smile and turned to continue bathing herself. While she did, Zay suddenly spoke.

"The bad cat isn’t so bad after all, Mama," he said firmly. "He’s a good cat."

Ayra smiled and nodded. "Yes. He is a good cat. So don’t be mean to him again, okay? Be nicer to the cat."

Zay firmly nodded. "Mmm. I’ll do that."

Ayra smiled as she shook her head and continued bathing. But while she did, she couldn’t help thinking about what had happened earlier.

The monster that was getting closer than expected.

Ayra was worried about what this monster was and what it wanted. More importantly, she was worried about their safety.

With that realization, she knew for certain that they had to do something quickly, even before the monster struck.

That night, they gathered for a more official meeting regarding the impending issue facing the tribe.

Ayra was present in the tribe lords’ meeting hall, along with the three tribe lords, Commander Lynn, Nyx, and several other warrior beastmen and elders involved.

They sat together and discussed the matter at hand, seeking solutions on how to handle it before it took a more dangerous turn.

Lord Ash folded his arms as he stared at Nyx, teasing him further. "I didn’t know you would actually make it to our meeting invitation. You’ve really been inactive in our tribe ever since you returned."

Nyx folded his arms. "It’s my decision."

When he returned and saw the female getting so much attention and value, Nyx hadn’t been happy about it. He had then decided not to officially involve himself in the affairs of the tribe, even though he had previously been active in them.

He stayed indoors and did his own things without associating with everyone else.

It was his way of rebelling.

But now, he had officially joined the meeting, which surprised them. The fact that he had also actively saved Ayra from being hurt left them even more shocked.

"I guess the Wild Cat has opened up to our fox," Lord Vale said with a smile. "He even saved her from harm. That says a lot about our Wild Cat."

They continued teasing him.

"I have a name," Nyx firmly said. He then added, "And that’s not important now. At the moment, we have a problem to handle, so let’s get to that."

They smiled and slowly nodded before proceeding with the discussion.

"At the moment, it’s clear that it’s coming for us. We don’t know when, but it’s very soon." Lord Vale stared around at everyone. "We should do something. We should get ready."

Lord Zark cleared his throat. "Get the army ready. The warriors should be on standby."

"I already arranged for that," Lord Vale said. "And I also arranged for tighter security around the tribe. More men and more security..."

He added, "We don’t know where they are. From what Nyx said, it seems these monsters are using some kind of energy-masking technique to make their way through without being recognized, so it’s difficult to track them. Our security should be top-notch."

Nyx nodded. "As we speak, they might even attack again tomorrow, given the fact that they’ve already broken into the tribe. So I think we should be prepared for the worst if possible."

Silence filled the room as they stared into thin air for a while, thinking about what they could do.

It was all happening so suddenly that they had to come up with something strong enough to protect the people of their tribe.

This wasn’t their first attack. But it was their first attack from potential S-Rank monsters in a long time, so they needed a defense force strong enough to handle them.

And at the moment, that seemed too difficult to come up with.

While they were still sitting there in thought, they suddenly heard a loud scream coming from outside.

Everyone looked up and stared toward the exit.

Ayra gasped as the scream came again.
