One Piece : Noble Phantasm Maker
Chapter 235: Mission Failed, Carefree Aokiji!
Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Mission Failed, Carefree Aokiji!
As he spoke, Usopp went straight over and stuck the Rabbit Talisman onto Raynor’s face.
Although he didn’t know how to use it, he believed that Raynor’s consciousness was still there.
Sure enough, the next moment, Usopp and Raynor vanished from where they stood.
Seeing this, a trace of relief appeared in Aokiji’s eyes.
He let out a sigh and said to himself,
"There’s nothing I can do. The mission has failed."
With that, Aokiji walked toward the ice.
He then hopped onto his little bicycle and set off toward Marine Headquarters.
...
On the Straw Hats’ side, Usopp carried Raynor, frozen solid, and ran straight ahead.
He was afraid that Aokiji would catch up with them again.
At that moment, Sanji and the others were also trying to melt the ice around Luffy’s arm.
Luffy’s arm had stretched too far, so they couldn’t wash it with hot water indoors. They could only let it melt slowly in the sea.
When they saw Raynor frozen solid, their eyes widened in shock.
They had all witnessed Raynor’s strength.
They never expected that even Raynor would be no match for a Marine admiral.
If that Marine admiral had wanted to kill them, they would have had no chance of escaping.
But this wasn’t the time to think about that. Sanji turned to Zoro and said,
"You stay here and look after Luffy. I’m going to help Usopp."
Without waiting for Zoro’s reply, Sanji used Moonwalk to reach the shore.
By then, Usopp was already gasping for breath.
Although they had used the Rabbit Talisman’s power, they hadn’t controlled their direction properly and had ended up more than ten miles away on the ice.
Usopp had rushed back as fast as he could, but it had taken him quite a while.
Sanji took Raynor from him. Usopp collapsed onto the ground, breathing heavily, unable to move at all.
Usopp had several patches of frostbite on his body as well, but Sanji had no time to worry about that. He threw Raynor into the sea and began rubbing him down.
If any more time passed, Raynor’s injuries would flare up again.
Only after seeing that Raynor was safe did Usopp finally relax and pass out.
After about two hours, the ice covering Raynor finally began to show signs of melting.
By then, the ice around Luffy’s arm had finally melted too, and the ice covering the rest of his body was slowly falling away.
Luffy sat on the deck, gasping for breath, his arm still trembling uncontrollably.
For the first time in his life, he felt so powerless.
He gritted his teeth.
"Damn it! I’m going to beat that Marine old man into the ground someday!"
Thinking of this, Luffy looked around and shouted,
"Hey, Raynor! I want to get stronger. Help me figure out how!"
As soon as he said this, Luffy glanced over and saw Raynor lying in the sea, slowly melting the ice covering his body. His eyes widened in shock.
In Luffy’s eyes, Raynor was an unbeatable existence.
Yet now, even he was covered in ice and lying in the sea.
Sanji continued rubbing Raynor’s body, hoping he could melt the ice as soon as possible.
Chopper had once said that Raynor’s bandages needed to be changed every two hours.
But nearly four hours had passed without changing them. If this continued, his wounds would become infected.
Just as Sanji was growing anxious, Raynor’s Soul-Cutting Sword suddenly began to give off a thick blaze of fire.
The ice covering the sword melted instantly.
The flames then spread onto Raynor’s body.
The ice covering Raynor began melting rapidly as well.
Seeing this, Sanji ignored the flames burning at him, picked Raynor up, and used Moonwalk to return to the Going Merry.
Everyone was overjoyed to see this.
After melting the ice from his body, Raynor braced himself against the deck and gasped for breath.
Sure enough, that bastard Aokiji could never bring himself to blindly kill innocent people just because the Five Elders told him to.
What he had done earlier was only a symbolic punishment. Otherwise, Raynor definitely would not have survived.
Seeing Raynor’s miserable condition, Luffy’s eyes trembled.
He understood deeply how urgent it was for him to become stronger.
With that in mind, Luffy tried moving his wrist. Then he slowly climbed to his feet and walked behind Raynor.
"Raynor, please make me stronger. I’m begging you."
As he spoke, Luffy bowed deeply to Raynor. His expression was extremely serious, without the slightest hint of a joke.
Come to think of it, Raynor had never taught Luffy or the others anything before.
Since Luffy wanted to become stronger, Raynor might as well help him develop his Haki.
With that thought, Raynor stood up and looked at Luffy with both eyes.
"Let me warn you first. If you want to become stronger, you’ll have to go through extremely brutal training. It may be even harsher than the training your grandfather put you through. Can you handle it?"
Hearing this, Luffy clenched his fists and nodded.
Seeing Luffy’s determination, Raynor stepped back and looked at Zoro and Sanji.
"Do you two want to join in as well?"
At this, both Sanji and Zoro were tempted. However, Sanji waved his hand.
"I don’t need to rush. Train Luffy first. I’ll go check on Usopp."
After hearing this, Zoro also took a step back.
"Then I’ll sit this one out too. Good luck, Luffy."
Hearing this, Luffy’s enthusiasm soared. He clenched his fists.
"Okay, Raynor! Let’s start training!"
Raynor looked at Luffy coldly.
Luffy couldn’t help taking a step backward, as if Raynor were about to pounce on him like a wild beast.
Then Raynor said coldly,
"Hit me with your strongest move!"
Luffy froze for a moment. Then the corners of his mouth lifted.
A chance like this didn’t come often.
With that thought, Luffy stretched out his arm and swung it forward.
"Rubber Pistol!"
Luffy’s punch was incredibly fast, leaving behind an afterimage.
Yet just before it reached Raynor, Raynor dodged it with an extremely strange movement.
Luffy wasn’t surprised. He immediately twisted his body.
His arm struck the ship’s mast, bounced back, and came flying toward Raynor again.
The rebound was even faster than the original punch.
"Rubber Pinball!"
The instant he finished speaking, Raynor flashed to the side and dodged Luffy’s Rubber Pinball.
Luffy’s fist slammed straight into his own head, sending him flying.
He looked absolutely miserable.
After a long while, Luffy struggled to his feet. A trace of excitement shone in his eyes.
"Not bad, Raynor. But things won’t be so easy from here on!"
With that, Luffy swung both arms far behind him.
Then he shouted,
"Rubber Machine Gun!"
The moment he finished speaking, Luffy began throwing both fists desperately toward Raynor.
But no matter how fast Luffy moved, even though his fists left afterimages, he still couldn’t touch Raynor at all.
At times, his fists even seemed to pass straight through Raynor.
