One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 1398 - 1395: Deduction
Igor and Xiso stood there in a daze. Clearly, Xiso's theory just now was too horrifying. Igor still hadn't recovered from the shock.
Could it be that everything Kuyi Tulan did before was just a pretense? What was he doing all this for?
One question after another kept popping out of Igor's mind, like a group of mischievous children beating drums, making Igor's head throb painfully.
"Kuyi Tulan did all this to seize the energy from the Shadow Ghost," Xiso said with penetrating eyes; his deductions were always top-notch.
"Why did you say it so clearly? It doesn't feel that way to me," Igor expressed his doubts because Kuyi Tulan's previous actions didn't seem like an act at all; it was indistinguishable from reality.
If you could see through it, he wouldn't need to act here.
This was Xiso's explanation to Igor, which Igor thought through carefully and found quite accurate.
If someone's disguise is seen through, there is no need to continue the charade. After all, once exposed, continuing becomes burdensome.
Kuyi Tulan had always acted normally, restrained when he should be, and rebelling when it was time to fight back...
Igor didn't understand the purpose of Kuyi Tulan's actions at all.
"I now have a little doubt about my deduction too, a feeling I've never experienced before. It's really bizarre," Xiso said faintly, the odd nature of the deduction making even this strategist question himself.
"Can deductions have errors?" Igor knew he shouldn't ask this question but couldn't help himself. So he asked Xiso directly, not caring about offending him.
"Generally, deductions don't have flaws, but now even I find this deduction process strange. Something's just not right about this matter," Xiso began to doubt his own confidence as well.
"Why?" Igor raked his hands through his hair, overwhelmed by the multitude of questions in his mind, too many to cope with.
The chaos was such that he didn't know which direction to head in, completely shrouded in the unknown.
Were these chaotic scenarios left by Kuyi Tulan? Did he leave these things to confuse others so they wouldn't know what to do, allowing him to better execute his plan?
The more Igor thought, the more chaotic it became, the chaos driving his thoughts even faster, bringing him to the brink of madness.
Compared to Igor, Xiso was much calmer, constantly observing and trying to deduce what Kuyi Tulan's true intentions were.
"These unearthed graves are hidden quite deeply; if it wasn't for me releasing Spirit Power just now, Igor, you probably wouldn't have seen these traces."
"Oh!" It was only at this moment that Igor understood that the reason he could spot signs of the graves was entirely due to Xiso's intervention.
Knowing this, Igor realized that the traces here weren't left intentionally by Kuyi Tulan. Rather, Kuyi Tulan was desperately trying to hide these traces, seemingly afraid of others knowing he had been here.
But since Kuyi Tulan knew the grave hid the Shadow Ghost's secret, why wouldn't he know the Shadow Ghost would come here? If it weren't for the Barrier being broken, this guy probably wouldn't have come here either.
This question started tormenting Igor again.
But Igor remained patient because next to him stood Xiso, a senior who would quickly deduce what the truth really was.
"You'll find that the whole thing isn't as complicated as we imagine," Xiso said leisurely, his tone very calm, revealing that his deduction had yielded new insights that made him realize how laughable his previous doubts were.
Everything here could produce special Symbols, and in the scholars' Numerical Sensing Skill, these symbols construct multiple possibilities. The possibilities may vary, but through a precise exclusion method, scholars can narrow down numerous possibilities to one, and continue refining that possibility to form a singular answer.
This is the scholars' deduction process, which may seem unbelievable to others, but for scholars, it's not too surprising. Their dedication to deduction is as natural as blood flowing.
Deductions of the past, deductions of the future — all these are the lifeblood of scholars, influencing others' decisions, which is why they are never careless.
Scholars continuously organize these symbols, allowing them to restore the truth. Each scholar's abilities differ, so they can't know all symbols and must discover and explore continually with their abilities...
Xiso, being a standout among them, is naturally skilled at this deduction, and now, in this graveyard, he is verifying his previous speculations through his deducing skills.
The previous judgment wasn't entirely correct; only through continuous deduction can one ascertain whether the prior judgment was accurate.
To find the answer, one must press forward, using new things to confirm...
Regarding Kuyi Tulan, Sol is now very clear that this guy is just a deceitful bastard.
The reason for his actions might be to seize the power of the Shadow Ghost.
No matter how powerful Kuyi Tulan might be, he wouldn't be a match for the Shadow Ghost; the only reason he could devour the Shadow Ghost was due to the extensive groundwork he laid beforehand.
The dug-up graves are evidence that Kuyi Tulan didn't possess that formidable Spirit Power, knowing he couldn't face the Shadow Ghost head-on, he had no choice but to adopt a strategy of compromise and deception.
"Wait," Igor suddenly interrupted Xiso's narrative, "did you derive all this from deduction?"
Igor asked because he found this explanation to be a bit tenuous, not very realistic.
"Yes, it's from deduction, but I can assure you, this is indeed the situation."
Igor didn't disbelieve Xiso, but remained a bit unconvinced by such a definitive judgment.
"You can look at what has been done beneath these graves, Igor," Xiso said patiently, hoping Igor would examine more closely.
So Igor observed again, this time discovering many symbols imprinted on the coffins beneath these graves...
Without unearthing this grave, Igor might never have discovered this secret.
