One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 1368 - 1365: Now It's Your Turn
After the flames extinguished, the atmosphere in the entire dark room calmed down, yet this calmness felt abnormal, a bit terrifying.
Neither Igor nor Kuyi Tulan spoke a word, as if they were waiting for the other to break the silence first.
The atmosphere was eerily quiet, like the strange calm that fills the sky before a storm.
This eerie atmosphere lasted for several Gudu Times, with everyone scarcely daring to breathe. They feared that any movement might provoke a fatal strike from the other side.
Kuyi Tulan had just finished a massive battle, and his body hadn't recovered to its primary state; to be precise, he was still in a weakened state. Although this condition wasn't enough to make him collapse, he still couldn't freely use his skills. Now he could only use some basic spells. These spells wouldn't crush everyone, but they were enough to withstand their attacks.
To be honest, Kuyi Tulan was ready to battle these people. He initially thought they would attack him while he was fighting over that Spirit with the others, but in the end, they didn't. Although he found this strange, he was somewhat grateful because that period was quite grueling. Despite his arrogance and bravado at that time, in reality, he was under immense pressure, a pressure that is hard to describe.
Ultimately, silence needs someone to break it. Kuyi Tulan knew there wasn't a possibility of reconciliation with the people opposite, and he was quite interested in that blue-skinned guy.
So, in the end, he knew it would have to be him to break the silence; he didn't want to waste any more time, though time was indeed on his side right now.
"I'm pleased that you stand with fellow kinds..." Kuyi Tulan said softly. He was quite satisfied with the current situation, having fully suppressed and taken control.
"We're not on your side; we just didn't want to disturb your particular struggle." Igor followed, knowing that their enemy was now definitely Kuyi Tulan, and there was no need to hide anything anymore.
"To express my gratitude, I decide not to bring you too much pain. If you would follow me, I would be happier." As always, Kuyi Tulan spoke with contempt, carrying a hint of disdainful arrogance. It seemed that, in his eyes, everyone else was inferior.
"Everyone has their choices; not everyone is as fixated on power as you. We judge a person not by the strength but by the integrity of the person." Igor said leisurely, showing indifference to the situation at hand.
He had already decided to oppose this adversary, so there was no need to strive for anything else.
Think about how even his master, Grand Master Guzan, couldn't persuade this guy back into the path of righteousness. How could these mere juniors hope to convince him? Preparing to fight him was all there was left, as any quarrel held no meaning.
Igor was already prepared, not to be intimidated or deceived by Kuyi Tulan's tricks.
"If that's the case, I won't force you. You just need to leave him here, and you can all go, including Xiso!" Kuyi Tulan laid out his condition.
"None of us will stay here." Kadi replied, "You're overthinking!"
Clearly, Kadi wasn't intimidated by Kuyi Tulan at all.
"I'm overthinking?" Kuyi Tulan laughed, clearly disdainful of Kadi's words.
Kadi didn't want to waste more words on this guy. He directly grabbed his Butterfly Blades and charged forward.
The flash of blades brought sudden light to the previously dim dark room, emanating from the angry flames on Kadi's body. The light from these flames made people feel an odd sense of eeriness.
"Kadi!" Igor wanted to warn Kadi to be careful. However, Kadi's speed was so brisk that he couldn't hear Igor's shout at all.
At that moment, Igor was supporting Xiso, unable to free his hands to help Kadi, forced to watch helplessly.
This situation was peculiar. Kuyi Tulan originally thought they would exchange more words, allowing him a buffer. But who would have thought this blue-skinned guy would be so impulsive, a complete airhead.
This airhead charged forward fiercely, causing Kuyi Tulan to retract in haste, dodging the flashes and fire shadows of blades.
Yet, Kadi didn't relent. Missing a strike, he immediately followed up with another, completely seamless with not an ounce of sluggishness, displaying an unmatched resolve throughout the duel.
Kuyi Tulan, seeing this move, had no choice. He just wanted to talk a bit more, yet no one here, as stubborn as Xiso, would even listen.
Thus, he could only brace himself.
This youngster's techniques he had seen before—the style of League Guard Kevin. Familiar with such techniques, Kuyi Tulan promptly employed his Exchange Spell, armoring himself with layers.
Currently, he could only use this level of the Exchange Spell since he just recovered. Many complex offensive spells hadn't regained function, so such simple foundational spells sufficed for self-defense.
These armors couldn't withstand Kadi's blade flashes. With a tearing sound, the armor shattered, another ripping sound followed, and the entire armor fell to the ground.
As it turned out, Kadi's blade edges were imbued with fire, this fire having Devouring Power, effortlessly consuming the Spirit Power encasing the armor. The leftover scraps of metal stood no chance against the sharpness of Kadi's Butterfly Blades, getting sliced off to the ground in no time.
Igor watched in utter amazement, initially sweating anxiously for Kadi, but now suddenly realizing Kadi completely held the advantage. No matter what method Kuyi Tulan used to parry, Kadi resolved it adeptly with fluidity.
Kadi's attack momentum showed no signs of abating, and no wonder, having suppressed his battle lust for so long, he'd been longing for a fight. With such a formidable opponent in front of him, how could he resist?
Kadi's relentless assault left Kuyi Tulan in sheer embarrassment. He had thought he would effortlessly claim the Devouring Power. Yet, it now seemed things were not as simple as he imagined. This resistance was somewhat unforeseen...
However, deep down he knew, these people wouldn't hold out for long since this entire dark room was his domain!
