One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 1367 - 1364: Kuyi Tulan's Return
Igor's rampant laughter echoed throughout the dark chamber, carrying a certain suppressive power, though it was unclear who exactly it targeted.
Igor and Kadi were aware that at this moment, Igor was dealing with the Spirit, and doing so very forcefully.
Igor felt that during Igor's handling of the Spirit, the fragments on Xiso played a significant role.
They did not know the reason behind this, but they could sense that the Spirit had no resistance to the power these fragments emitted.
Though they couldn't see the Spirit's fear of the power of these fragments, they could still perceive the Spirit's helplessness against this energy.
With the Spirit's methods, ten Igors could only cause trouble, but now Igor had virtually suppressed the Spirit entirely. There must be some mystery here, and Xiso's fragments might be a key factor.
Earlier, Xiso's narration also touched on this point. Xiso believed that Igor found a way to deal with the Devouring Power, discovered its weaknesses.
Yet Xiso wasn't too familiar with the fragments on himself. He merely thought these odd items might be a source, the resources Igor used against the Spirit.
"Hahaha, you might never know why you failed," Igor continued boasting, with a capital advantage for his arrogance.
"Indeed, we discovered ways to harness your energy through you, but this approach doesn't rely entirely on you. This, you will never understand."
"Our Spirit Power System is indeed a derivative of your energy. Without Energy Fluctuations, Spirit Power would never come into being..."
Igor narrated, seemingly explaining to the Spirit why it failed.
Arrogance, disregard for others, these are the shortcomings of these Spirits, and he hasn't changed this for many years, accumulating over the years.
"See this dark chamber? This is the application of Spirit Power. The entire Alchemy Array is a reuse of Spirit Power. These things depend on the presence of energy but will never be controlled by energy. Here, Spirit Power stands on its own."
Igor grew more and more excited, seemingly showing the Spirit his abilities, bragging about his prowess!
The Spirit was completely oppressed, without a trace of resistance, a feeling it encountered for the first time.
Igor continued speaking about the Spirit Power System. He didn't fear these things being known. He kept speaking, kept laughing, seemingly in a good mood.
Igor and Kadi did not interfere with Igor at this moment, not because they saw Igor as an ally at this moment, but because they thought a person striving to be themselves deserved respect.
Igor, though obnoxious, wasn't in the realm of unforgivable evil. Even though he did many outlandish things, as Master Guzan said, he's just a guy who chose the wrong path. Igor's choices differ from everyone else. In the Alchemist's Perception skill, he favored impurities, unlike most alchemists. Perhaps this is why he's unique, incompatible with traditional alchemists, having no ties with those fellows, always forging a different path, yet able to create a new style on this unique road.
In a sense, Igor can be called a master on this path. He created a new stream.
However, this stream has considerable connection to Forbidden Spells...
Igor, being possessed by the Spirit, hadn't let go of resistance in his own consciousness. He grew stronger, surpassing typical cognitive ranges.
Igor and them did not interfere, knowing that when Igor fully regained his identity, he'd become extremely troublesome, but even so, they didn't take advantage of his vulnerabilities.
Some things are supported by faith, and this faith must not disappear or be ignored.
Igor and Kadi watched silently as Igor regained himself. They observed the whole process.
They felt the greatness of the Spirit Power System Igor talked about, understanding that even ants have their way to survive, never despairing because of others' strength, surviving continuously, alongside these mighty beings, continuing their journey in this world.
Being oneself is crucial, Igor's choice deeply inspired Igor and the others. This resistance is an inherent human quality. In a sense, Igor set an example for those Soul Devourers.
Being devoured and forgetting oneself, yielding to others' oppression, such spineless fellows became Soul Devourers. These Soul Devourers have no prospects, this is Igor and their belief, and it's Igor's thought too.
No one forgets their identity, as long as they are dignifiable individuals, this is immensely important!
"I am Igor, this cannot change regardless!" Igor proclaimed hysterically.
Igor and Kadi saw flames rise around Igor, with odd-colored flames, indescribable in their appearance, knowing only that this should be the final stage.
Soon, Igor could completely suppress the Spirit, fully control his body, to truly be himself.
The flames erupted with infinite light and heat, enough to scorch a person, while the luminosity was immense, a spectacular sight, causing Igor and them to shield their eyes, fearing the intense light might damage their eyes.
The light lasted for a long time, flames burning more than heat but also emitted a tragic groan.
This sound probably was the Spirit's final struggle, but it wouldn't vanish, merely utterly suppressed by Igor. This suppression equates to losing itself completely, only able to perform Spirit tasks, waking, sleeping, sleeping, waking!
That's why it roars...
However, now Igor is the boss. He fully occupies the initiative, reverting to himself!
The Alchemy Workshop's chief returned this strong!
