My Taming System Makes Me Overpowered
Chapter 250: Beyond the outer rim
The quiet that settled over the celestial-jade citadel had stretched far into the cycle, fading into a deep, velvety stillness beneath the unbroken amethyst sky.
The Null Expanse was no longer a fractured wasteland of wild void-beasts, unpredictable dark-matter storms, and warring primordial entities. Integrated completely into Vince’s Inward Absolute Domain, the five former sectors now hummed as five unified celestial sanctums. Their ley-lines flowed in perfect, harmonious orbits, anchored firmly by Barnaby’s fully bloomed Lotus Core and tied directly through the World-Heart to the First Canopy back in the elven homelands.
Vince stood alone at the absolute edge of the highest terrace, his dark coat billowing gently in the serene cosmic breeze. His hands rested comfortably in his pockets, his dark amethyst eyes fixed on the distant western horizon—the absolute perimeter where his newly expanded domain met the infinite, uncharted void beyond.
Far beyond the terrace, the edge of the domain shimmered like a thin veil stretched across the heavens. The protective boundary was almost invisible from this distance, yet faint bands of amethyst light moved through it whenever the surrounding void brushed against its surface. Small fragments of broken celestial matter drifted outside, slowly tumbling through the darkness before being caught by distant currents of space. There were no stars close enough to illuminate that region. Only scattered points of pale light marked distant galaxies, some so faint they looked like dust caught against black glass. The silence there felt different from the quiet within the citadel. Inside, every part of the domain carried the subtle rhythm of life, from the steady pulse of the ley-lines to the distant movement of countless inhabitants. Beyond the barrier, nothing answered. It was an open stretch of unknown territory, untouched by Vince’s laws and beyond the reach of his current perception. Even the cosmic wind seemed thinner there, carrying strange fluctuations that vanished before reaching the terrace. Whatever existed beyond that boundary had remained hidden for ages, waiting in the darkness beyond the reach of the former Void-Gods. and the ancient celestial order beyond.
A soft, familiar warmth settled against his right side as Barnaby glided up beside him. Her translucent silver gown fluttered softly, her golden eyes glowing with a quiet, celestial radiance that emanated directly from the blooming lotus mark over her heart. The shared soul-tether between them pulsed with a steady, comforting rhythm, a constant reminder of their absolute and permanent bond.
"You’re already looking past the wall, My Lord," Barnaby whispered softly, leaning her head against his broad shoulder and resting her pale hand over his arm.
"A border is only a temporary marker, Barnaby," Vince replied smoothly, his voice calm, deep, and carrying an iron weight that seemed to echo through the jade floor beneath them. "The Null Expanse was merely the threshold. A stepping stone to establish our foundation."
Footsteps echoed softly across the polished jade tiles as the rest of his vanguard joined them on the high terrace.
Lyrielle walked up at his left side, her elder-wood bow slung comfortably across her back. Her forest-green gown was lined with silver-wood threads that pulsed with the vibrant life force of the reconnected elven realm. Beside her, Vetra rolled her shoulders with a lazy satisfaction, her dark dragon-wings flaring slightly while her golden-crimson scales caught the soft ambient light of the realm. Elena glided forward carrying a glowing tactical slate, her golden eyes scanning lines of translucent spatial data hovering before her fingers.
"The territorial stabilization of Phase Three is completely finalized," Elena reported, her tone crisp and brimming with executive satisfaction. "Every province—from the lower human territories to the First Canopy and the five new Void Sanctums—now operates under a single, unyielding grid. Law enforcement, ley-line distribution, and administrative communication are functioning at absolute peak efficiency."
"And the outer rim?" Vince asked, without shifting his gaze from the horizon.
Elena tapped a glowing rune, expanding a high-density spatial projection that mapped the immediate cosmos lying just outside Vince’s domain.
"The collapse and assimilation of the five Void-God domains generated a massive energy ripple across the deep cosmos," Elena explained, her slender fingers tracing the glowing outer perimeter of their map. "Beyond our current rim sits a vast, uncharted realm known in ancient high-elven archives as the Primordial Firmament."
Lyrielle stepped closer to Vince, her violet eyes shining with remembered lore from her queenly studies. "The Prime Ancestors believed the Primordial Firmament was where the true celestial pantheons resided—entities far older, far grander, and far more entrenched than the local Void-Gods we just harvested. It is said to be an endless ocean of true cosmic seats, where higher divine laws govern entire galaxy clusters."
Vetra let out a low, eager chuckle, resting the flat of her heavy broadsword against her shoulder with a sharp grin. "True celestial pantheons, huh? Sounds like we’re finally done with the warm-up rounds. I was starting to worry we’d run out of decent targets."
"They’ve already noticed our expansion," Elena added, pointing toward three massive, radiant energy signatures appearing at the extreme edge of her long-range scans. "Three high-order celestial emissaries from the Firmament have taken position just outside our barrier. They haven’t attempted to cross, but they are monitoring our domain borders with intense scrutiny."
Barnaby let out a low, purring laugh, her slender arms wrapping tightly around Vince’s waist as she looked up into his face with complete devotion. "They fear what you’ve built, Vince. A mortal who ascended to absolute divine authority, erased the Obelisk, and devoured an entire void expanse in a matter of days... they know their old balance of power is over."
Vince’s mouth curved into a slow, dark smirk. He wrapped one arm around Barnaby’s waist, pulling her flush against his side, while his other hand reached out to gently cup Lyrielle’s chin, drawing a soft, flushed smile from the elven princess.
He looked out past the shimmering, protective edge of his amethyst sky, gazing directly into the infinite expanse of the Primordial Firmament where new empires, higher gods, and uncharted realms waited to be claimed.
Phase Three was complete. The Null Expanse was conquered, the lotus was fully bloomed, and his empire was unshakeable.
"Let them watch," Vince said smoothly, his deep voice echoing across the silent stars with absolute, untouchable supremacy. "Prepare the vanguard. Phase Four begins now."
