Chapter 172: Arts II
Celestial Arts were powerful techniques that could allow someone to become an absolute powerhouse as long as they continued to comprehend and master them.
"Yes. The Celestial Art is called Endless Ocean. It’s a Domain-type Celestial Art," Emilia explained.
Kaiser stared at her for a moment.
"Then why can’t we take it too?"
"According to the information I have, it’s stored inside a single-use Memory Tree Crystal," Emilia replied.
Kaiser sighed.
"No wonder."
He finally understood.
A single-use Memory Tree Crystal could only be used once. Once someone absorbed the information stored inside it, the crystal would disappear, meaning only one person could obtain the Celestial Art from it.
As for why Celestial Arts couldn’t simply be copied or taught to others, the reason was simple.
A Celestial Art had to be imprinted directly onto a person’s soul.
The person also had to comprehend the art themselves.
Only after fully comprehending and mastering the Celestial Art could they pass it on to another person.
And even then, the process was extremely difficult.
Some Celestial Arts could take hundreds or even thousands of years to fully comprehend and master.
That was just how powerful they were.
There were even records in the Cosmic Worlds of Celestial Art users creating entire worlds using nothing but the power of their own Celestial Arts.
Kaiser looked at Emilia.
"So you want to obtain the Endless Ocean for yourself?"
Emilia nodded.
"Yes."
Kaiser looked at Emilia for a moment before asking,
"Then why should we help you? What’s in it for us?"
Emilia smiled.
"Although there is only one Celestial Art, the dungeon also contains ten Grand Arts."
Kaiser raised an eyebrow.
"Ten?"
Emilia nodded.
"Yes. The Legacy Dungeon contains the inheritance of an ancient water-type powerhouse, so all ten Grand Arts are related to water."
Kaiser nodded as he understood.
Although Grand Arts were not as powerful as Celestial Arts, they were still extremely valuable.
They were only one level below Celestial Arts, and like Celestial Arts, their power depended on how deeply their user comprehended and mastered them.
The deeper the comprehension, the stronger the Grand Art became.
"And do you know the names of some of them?" Kaiser asked.
Emilia nodded.
"I’ve managed to obtain information about several of them."
She raised one finger.
"The World-Devouring Ocean."
A second finger.
"The Corrupted Red Sea."
A third.
"The Ethereal Mist."
Then she smiled.
"And the Clear Soul Lake."
Kaiser’s expression became slightly more serious.
Even just the names sounded powerful.
A Legacy Dungeon containing one Celestial Art and ten Grand Arts was clearly far more valuable than he had initially expected.
"If there are ten Grand Arts, what happens to the other ones?" Kaiser asked.
"I’m not sure," Emilia replied. "The information I obtained only mentioned their existence. The remaining names and their exact inheritance methods weren’t recorded."
Kaiser leaned back in his chair and thought for a moment.
"So your plan is to obtain the Endless Ocean while we can take the Grand Arts?"
"Exactly," Emilia said.
Kaiser glanced at Alex.
Alex immediately shrugged.
"I’m fine with it."
Kaiser then looked back at Emilia.
"Alright. I’m interested."
Emilia smiled.
"Then we have a deal."
Kaiser nodded.
"Tell us everything you know about the Legacy Dungeon. Before we go there, I want to know exactly what we’re dealing with."
Emilia nodded and began explaining.
"The Legacy Dungeon isn’t actually a normal dungeon. It was originally the remains of an ancient organization called the Abyssal Tide Palace."
Kaiser and Alex listened carefully.
"The Abyssal Tide Palace existed countless years ago. It was one of the most powerful organizations in the ancient era, and its members came from many different races."
"Most of them were sea-related races, such as Merfolk, Sea Beasts, Ocean Demons, Deep-Sea Giants, and other aquatic races. However, they also accepted members from other races."
"The organization was incredibly powerful and produced many experts throughout its history. At its peak, it controlled a massive territory beneath the seas and possessed countless treasures and inheritances."
Emilia paused.
"However, their history wasn’t entirely peaceful."
"They fought many wars against other ancient organizations and powerful races. Some of their actions also caused them to make enemies with several major powers."
"Eventually, the conflicts became too much."
"The Abyssal Tide Palace was attacked by several powerful forces at once."
"After a massive battle, the organization was destroyed."
Kaiser narrowed his eyes.
"Completely?"
"Almost," Emilia replied.
"Most of its members were killed, while the survivors scattered across the world. Their territory was also destroyed, and most of their treasures were lost."
She continued.
"However, the leader of the Abyssal Tide Palace had already prepared a final inheritance."
"He created a special Legacy Dungeon containing a portion of the organization’s most valuable treasures, techniques, and inheritances."
Kaiser nodded.
"So that’s where the Celestial and Grand Arts came from."
"Exactly."
Emilia then took out a small blue token and placed it on the table.
"This is an Abyssal Tide Token."
Kaiser looked at it carefully.
"The Legacy Dungeon can only be entered by people who possess these tokens."
"Each token allows the holder to bring a limited number of people into the Legacy Dungeon."
She raised her hand.
"One token can allow up to five people to enter."
Kaiser looked at her.
"Where did you get it from?"
Emilia nodded.
"I found mine several years ago."
She looked at the token for a moment.
"I’ve been searching for the Legacy Dungeon ever since. Now that I’ve finally found its location, I don’t want to waste this opportunity."
Kaiser nodded.
"How many tokens exist?"
"Nobody knows," Emilia replied. "Many tokens were scattered throughout the world after the organization was destroyed. Over the years, several people have obtained them."
She paused.
"Some of them have already entered the Legacy Dungeon, but most of the information they obtained was either incomplete or kept secret."
Kaiser frowned slightly.
"So we’re not the only ones who might be going there."
"That’s right."
Emilia’s expression became serious.
"There may be other token holders who have already entered the Legacy Dungeon, and there could also be people waiting for the dungeon to open."
Kaiser nodded.
"Then this won’t be as simple as entering a dungeon and taking the treasures."
"Definitely not," Emilia replied.
"The Abyssal Tide Palace left behind a great inheritance, but it also left behind many dangers."
