My Magic Has No Upper Limit
Chapter 398 - 335: Advancement! Middle Level Mage
Chapter 398: Chapter 335: Advancement! Middle Level Mage
With the Medusa killed in a single blow by the Instant Flash Ball, Zelir’s experience bar began to shoot up.
The rate of increase was even beyond his expectations.
Level 41 (149/975) -> Level 43 (563/1025). He had leveled up twice in a row!
The Medusa provided an enormous amount of Experience Points—2,389 in total!
With the level-ups came another twelve attribute points to allocate.
Power: 124
Agility: 134
Constitution: 127
Spirit: 197
Intelligence: 178 -> 190
Perception: 32
Charm: 68 -> 71
Lucky: 51
Talent Skills:
Technique Celestial Calculation
Magic Contract
After allocating all twelve attribute points to Intelligence, the stat jumped to 190!
With his points allocated, Zelir nodded in satisfaction.
His control over his Magic Power was now far more refined, having reached a new plateau.
The feeling of a breakthrough was growing stronger. ’Looks like I’ll soon be able to...’
Zelir was just about to properly examine the state of his sea of consciousness.
Suddenly, the Spirit Chains coiled around his Spring Seed let out a sharp CRACK that only he could hear.
CRACK, CRACK, CRACK...
Cracks spread across the chains, and then... they shattered!
An invisible ripple swept through his entire sea of consciousness, as if announcing the event to the cosmos.
Zelir’s eyes slowly widened, his expression filled with disbelief.
’I... I’m not sensing things, am I? The shackles of a Junior Mage... they’ve actually been broken?!’
A wondrous tremor spontaneously arose from the depths of his soul.
It was an incredibly powerful, distinct feeling of fulfillment and longing, the sensation of a profound metamorphosis about to occur!
The feeling surged through Zelir’s heart like a raging storm.
Zelir struggled to suppress his excitement and steady his mind.
He focused, sensing it again...
’Yes, it’s real!’
’This is a Power that cannot be suppressed.’
’An epiphany that defies words.’
’This is the glorious fruit born from the culmination of his Magic Power!’
After pushing his two core Attributes, Spirit and Intelligence, to the absolute limit for a Junior Mage, a quantitative change had finally triggered a qualitative leap!
The very instant Zelir confirmed this, a dazzling series of phenomena unfolded within his sea of consciousness.
The light from the Spring Seed suddenly erupted!
Its soft halo became as blazing as the sun, and its rotation sped up considerably!
Just by brushing his consciousness across his sea of consciousness, he could feel the intense will it radiated—a desire to break through!
After advancing from Level 9 to become a Junior Mage, Zelir, now at Level 43, had finally reached the threshold of a Middle Level Mage.
All Zelir had to do now was one last thing.
He had to find a safe environment and undergo one perfect Meditation to complete the breakthrough!
"Phew..."
With the Medusa blown to bits, Gray heaved a sigh of relief and dropped to the ground.
"It’s finally over... We really ran into every kind of bad luck today."
"A Witch Demon and a Medusa. One with corpse explosions, the other with petrification... Both of them are just plain nasty."
Gray untied the strip of cloth bound tightly around his calf and looked down.
The frightening patch of bluish-purple skin from the venomous snakebite had completely faded.
He figured it was because of the Purification Aura Zelir had just cast. While it was resisting the petrification, it must have also dispelled the poison.
He hopped on one foot a couple of times, trying to shake off the numbness in his calf from the lack of circulation.
"That’s the first time in my life I’ve ever been bitten by a snake..."
Marcus took off his helmet. It was drenched with sweat on the inside.
Clutching his head, he leaned against a crumbling stone throne and slowly sat down.
He had been swinging his sword and shield for so long that his head was still dizzy. The whole world was spinning before his eyes.
Suddenly, Hill, who had been regulating her breathing, turned to look at Zelir with an intense gaze.
Her eyes flickered a few times before she finally spoke, her voice laced with uncertainty and concern.
"Zelir, are... are you injured?"
Hill’s Perception was the sharpest. She sensed highly unstable fluctuations of Magic Power emanating from Zelir.
It was surging and ebbing, flaring and fading...
’Did he expend too much in the fight with the Medusa? Is his Magic Power about to run rampant?’
"Zelir’s injured?" Hearing this, the others immediately turned to look at him.
"No... I’m fine."
Zelir shook his head in response to his teammates’ concern, but he couldn’t stop a faint smile from gracing his lips.
"I just had a new epiphany about Magic."
"You had a new epiphany about Magic... in the middle of a fight?"
Gray gave him a look that said, *you’ve got to be kidding me*. "Are you even a Mage?"
"That’s a good thing."
Marcus, however, looked pleased.
"If Zelir’s getting stronger, our squad will have an easier time dealing with Demons."
If it weren’t for Zelir’s dispelling effect, Marcus didn’t know how they would have survived this Medusa.
Within a few rounds, their entire squad would have likely been turned to stone. Only Hill might have been fast enough to get away.
The Medusa’s upper torso had been blown to smithereens, with bits of flesh scattered so widely it would be difficult to gather them even with a shovel.
Fortunately, however, her Demon Core was located in her lower, serpentine body.
The Medusa’s Demon Core was quite peculiar. It was a perfectly shaped, prismatic crystal.
However, its surface was in a state of constant, peculiar flux.
Every so often, a layer of grayish-white stone would form over it, only to recede a moment later, like the ebb and flow of the tide.
Beyond that, the iridescent Snake Scales on the Medusa’s lower body were also extremely valuable, possessing powerful defensive properties.
Even after enduring the aftershock from the Instant Flash Ball, the surfaces of the scales were left without a scratch, making them prime material for crafting top-tier Scale Armor or a Shield.
...
With this exploration concluded, the Marcus Squad headed back the way they came.
They didn’t linger long at their camp, however. After a brief rest, they mounted their Land Birds and returned to Sengu Town.
