My Magic Has No Upper Limit
Chapter 399 - 335: Advancement! Middle Level Mage
Chapter 399: Chapter 335: Advancement! Middle Level Mage
Zelir didn’t want to complete his breakthrough in that environment. After all, the ruins were crowded and full of prying eyes; it wasn’t safe.
Heart of the Emerald Residence.
Steam filled the bathroom as Zelir stood up from the wooden tub, wiping the water droplets from his body with a towel.
After bathing and changing his clothes, he sat cross-legged in the center of the large bed.
The feeling of being on the cusp of a breakthrough lingered in his mind, refusing to dissipate. He just needed to complete the final step to pierce through that last barrier.
He had already told Hera at the front desk not to let anyone disturb him.
Besides, the other members of his team would also keep an eye out for any unexpected situations.
All preparations were complete.
’Then... let’s begin.’
’Middle Level Mage, here I come.’
Zelir took a deep breath, focused his mind, and entered a state of Meditation, shutting out all the noise of the outside world.
He banished all stray thoughts, concentrating his will on the Spring Seed.
Once he was fully immersed, the precarious chain of shackles... was completely shattered!
A great ROAR echoed within his sea of consciousness!
After the Spring Seed broke free from its bonds, a vast amount of Magic Power began to expand wildly.
A brilliant light flared, illuminating everything!
The space of his sea of consciousness was forcibly expanded several times over by this surging impact, and it was still growing!
The Magic Power produced by the Spring Seed was also purer and more condensed than before.
Under this tempering, it gradually sublimated toward a higher peak!
Everything worked in concert, striving to reach a higher level!
The night in Sengu Town was silent, but within Zelir’s sea of consciousness, waves crashed one after another!
Throughout this process, just as when he had advanced to Junior Mage, Zelir’s consciousness uncontrollably sank into a deep slumber.
The following steps required no conscious control from him; it was all a natural progression.
The huge breakthrough brought by the advancement not only caused his Spirit and Intelligence to skyrocket, but his other Attributes also benefited.
A fluorescent blue radiance washed over Zelir’s body again and again, polishing his aura and making it more profound.
The Ascension of his Magic Realm also made Zelir’s Perception of his surroundings increasingly sharp.
The night passed without incident.
...
「The next morning.」
Pale golden sunlight streamed through the windowpanes, casting bright patches of light on the soft, large bed.
Outside the window, branches and leaves swayed gently.
His eyelashes trembled slightly, and his eyes slowly opened.
His pupils were still as black as ink, but in their very depths, they had become much calmer.
As his consciousness gradually cleared, the faint woody scent in the room awakened Zelir’s senses.
’I fell asleep again...’
’Does this mean... I’ve completed my advancement?’
His gaze swept around the room as a wondrous feeling welled up within him.
He focused his mind, and the data panel appeared.
Power: 124 -> 130 (+6)
Agility: 134 -> 140 (+6)
Constitution: 127 -> 133 (+6)
Spirit: 197 -> 247 (+50)
Intelligence: 190 -> 240 (+50)
Perception: 32 -> 37 (+5)
Charm: 71 -> 76 (+5)
Lucky: 51 -> 66 (+15)
Talent Skills:
Technique Celestial Calculation
Magic Contract
Awaiting Selection
Even though he was mentally prepared, Zelir was still utterly shocked by the massive increase in his attribute values.
The grogginess from just waking up was instantly shaken off.
’Oh my god...’
’Spirit and Intelligence both shot up by 50 points!’
’You could only experience this kind of rocket-like growth during an advancement.’
’Back when I went from Magic Apprentice to Junior Mage, my Spirit and Intelligence only increased by 20 points.’
’Perception and Charm each increased by 5 points, which isn’t bad.’
’But the most mysterious stat, Lucky... actually increased by 15 points!’
To be honest, Zelir was starting to question his own class.
Lucky was an Ultimate Attribute; every point of increase required a full 4 attribute points.
points of Lucky was equivalent to a bonus of 60 attribute points, which was even more than the increase in either Spirit or Intelligence.
He couldn’t help but wonder...
’Could it be that when I undergo Reclassification in the future, I’ll unlock some kind of Lucky-related class?’
He casually felt the flow of Magic Power within his body. Compared to his time as a Junior Mage, its strength was on a completely different level.
Moreover, his sea of consciousness had also undergone a major change.
The space had become more layered, and unlike during his time as a Junior Mage, it no longer had clear boundaries.
Zelir perceived it carefully. He felt that his sea of consciousness was now a bit like a real universe, with no discernible edge.
However, his Magic Power reserves were still finite.
After taking in the simple enhancement of his Attributes, Zelir’s breathing quickened slightly.
’Next up... it’s time to choose a Talent Skill!’
On the data panel, the available options were the same as last time: a total of four Talent Skills.
[Absolute Focus], [Seizing Tyranny], [Overflowing Energy], [Arcane Surge].
However, of the four Talent Skills, only [Seizing Tyranny] was in a selectable state.
His will touched the bottom of the talent tree.
The words [Seizing Tyranny] quietly shattered, then reformed under the Talent Skills column.
Selection successful!
After unlocking Seizing Tyranny, an impulse surged through him.
Zelir felt a bit restless, eager to go kill something.
’It would be great if a goblin was here right now.’
’Is this a mental side effect of the Talent Skill...?’
Zelir frowned slightly.
Fortunately, this mental influence wasn’t very strong; it wouldn’t turn him into a bloodthirsty madman.
He could suppress it with ease.
Unlike Magic Contract, Seizing Tyranny didn’t provide an immediate boost.
According to the skill description.
The first time he participated in killing a unique hostile creature, he would receive a reward.
If it was a normal Demon, he would gain a corresponding attribute point boost based on its type!
If it was a special Demon, he could additionally seize a trait from it, permanently strengthening himself!
’I wonder just how large the attribute point increase is...’
’In that case, doesn’t Seizing Tyranny indirectly accelerate the path to becoming an Upper Level Mage?’
’After all, it gives extra attribute point rewards.’
’And what kind of traits can I actually seize from Demons...’
But even though Seizing Tyranny didn’t offer an immediate boost, he could finally use all the High Level Magic he had been saving up for so long!
The Four Level Multi-layered Spell Structure Magic that combined the destructive properties of both Flame and lightning: Flame Thunder Spear!
The Level Six Fire Magic capable of incinerating all things: Magma Pillar!
The Level Six control-type Magic that could alter gravity and create a black hole-like effect: Gravity Singularity!
And also Praise of Life and Magic Harmony!
Just unlocking these spells alone would instantly boost his combat power by a huge margin.
Recalling the scene of his mentors joining forces to subjugate the Abyssal Evil Vine, Zelir’s heart couldn’t help but leap with excitement.
’Finally, I can cast that kind of Magic too!’
’I have to test it out right away!’
"BANG!"
The door to the room was pushed open, and Gray, who had been dozing off outside, was startled awake.
He jolted, his hand instinctively going to the hilt of the sword at his waist.
Before he could even figure out what was happening, Gray saw a familiar figure rush down the stairs like a whirlwind.
"Was that Zelir?" Valles asked uncertainly from the other side of the doorway.
"Who else? A naked chick coming out of Zelir’s room?" Gray said, shouting after Zelir’s retreating back.
"Hey...! Zelir!"
But Zelir didn’t answer. Hearing the PATTER-PATTER-PATTER of his footsteps, Gray figured he was already far away.
"So ungrateful..." Gray grumbled, rubbing his eyes.
For the past few days, Gray had been guarding the door, practically never leaving his post.
It got to the point where he felt like a husband waiting outside the delivery room for his wife to give birth.
Hill had clearly said she would share the guard duty, but that woman had stayed in her room ever since they returned to the Heart of the Emerald Residence.
A textbook example of an irresponsible flake!
Just then, Hill happened to walk down the stairs.
When she saw Gray and Valles, her expression was quite surprised.
"What are you two doing?" Hill asked.
"What does it look like? We’re guarding His Excellency, the esteemed Mage, so he isn’t disturbed," Gray said with a sneer.
Gray narrowed his eyes. "Well, well, Your Highness. You’ve finally decided to grace us with your presence."
"I was watching over Zelir, too."
"You haven’t even left your room!"
"Do you have to stand right at the door to keep watch? That’s way too obvious."
Hill waved her hand dismissively and continued down the stairs. "Zelir’s room is right below mine. I had a crystal-clear view from my window."
"..."
Gray was finally speechless.
"From the looks of it, his advancement went pretty smoothly," Valles said with a yawn.
"Mages are such a pain. They even have to find a quiet place just to advance," Gray grumbled.
"When I had my breakthrough, I was in the middle of a bloody battle with Skeleton People in an Underground Tomb. And Marcus only advanced after you shot him with a couple of arrows."
He stood up and stretched, so tired that tears welled up in his eyes.
"Nope, nope, I’ve got to go catch up on sleep. I can’t take it anymore..."
