Joseph Lancaster went around the department store, driving home only when it closed, carrying large bags full of baby items.

As he neared the house, he saw his family’s car approaching from the opposite direction, and with a slight frown, Joseph pressed the accelerator to drive forward.

The family chauffeur drove the car past him, inside sat the matchmaker and that girl.

Joseph parked the car in the garage, carrying the net bag and baby stroller back to his place, just in time for dinner, as the Lancaster Family members started to gather at the old master’s house.

Across the street, Atlas Lancaster and his wife were leading their grandson this way, and from afar, Eva Hayes called out, "Joseph, did you go shopping? What did you get so much stuff for!"

Joseph smiled, "Yep, I got off work early, so I bought some toys for Robert."

Hearing it was toys, Eva hurriedly pulled her grandson to quicken their pace, coming up to Joseph under the streetlight to inspect the net bag in his hands.

"Let me see what you bought!"

Joseph was anxious to deliver it to his son but couldn’t refuse, so he stood under the streetlamp, allowing Eva to rummage through.

"Oh wow, this is nice, Robert is too young to play with it anyway, it’s perfect for our Maximilian!" Eva pulled out the Rubik’s Cube intending to give it to Maximilian next to her.

"Aunt Eva, I bought this for Robert, if Maximilian likes it, I can get him one next time."

Without a change in his expression, Joseph took the Rubik’s Cube back and stuffed it into the net bag again.

Seeing Joseph take back the Rubik’s Cube, Eva became unwilling.

"Joseph, why are you so stingy? Robert is your nephew, isn’t Maximilian your nephew too? You can’t be so blatantly biased!"

Maximilian, only five years old, had the toy snatched away just as he was about to get it, and immediately opened his mouth and started wailing.

"Ah... Grandpa, Grandma, I want that, I want that cube!"

Joseph picked up the stroller beside him, saying with a faint smile, "Although Maximilian is also my nephew, as the saying goes, the further the relation, the lesser the obligation."

After speaking, ignoring the wailing Maximilian, he walked forward with the toys and stroller.

"What kind of person! Sees the child crying and won’t even bring something out to comfort him!"

Eva complained discontentedly at Joseph’s back, to which Atlas, with bulging eyes, angrily replied, "Isn’t it your fault!"

"Hmph! Isn’t it your nephew who’s stingy!"

Eva retorted defiantly, then looked down to soothe the crying grandson, "Don’t cry, Maximilian, we don’t need his crappy toy! Tomorrow grandma will take you to the department store! Hmph! A toy worth a few bucks, does he think we can’t afford it!"

Eva grumbled while leading her grandson on the spot. Atlas, exasperated, flung his sleeve and marched off first.

"Lorelei, what’s wrong with Maximilian? Who made him cry?" Lorelei Howard and her husband approached, Aurora Lancaster accompanying them.

Eva snorted displeasingly at her, "It’s all your Joseph’s doing!"

"Joseph?" Lorelei looked back puzzled, "What about Joseph?"

She just saw her second son come back, carrying lots of toys, and had just turned her brother and sister-in-law back to the house.

"I don’t know, go ask your sweet son yourself!" Eva snapped back, then led Maximilian away.

"Maximilian, don’t cry, let’s have some dignity, you’re not allowed to play with Robert anymore!"

Arthur Saunders...

Lorelei Howard...

Their Robert isn’t even a year old yet, how could he have offended her?

Aurora Lancaster wrinkled her nose at Eva’s retreating figure with dissatisfaction, "If you don’t want to play with my nephew, then don’t. Once Robert has a little brother or sister, they won’t care about you either!"
