Chapter 1669: Chapter 1643: Wherever the Gaze Falls, There Lies Eternity: I Have a Girlfriend
Watching Joseph Lancaster take out the toys one by one from the mesh bag, Violet Zimmerman felt a bit uneasy.
“Joseph, you don’t need to buy toys for Robert anymore, he’s still young.”
During the New Year, the red envelope for her son had a passbook with a scheduled deposit of ten thousand yuan, and she wanted to return the envelope, but Daxton Lancaster stopped her.
“What Joseph gave to Robert, just keep it, consider it as safekeeping for Robert.”
Joseph Lancaster understood Violet Zimmerman’s thoughts, and after placing the last toy in the box, he smiled and said, “Sister-in-law, these toys cost next to nothing, compared to the two companies my brother gave me, they aren’t even a drop in the ocean.”
Speaking of companies, Daxton Lancaster suddenly remembered his brother’s newly opened cement factory.
“Joseph, how’s the new factory? Do you need me to help you contact some clients?”
Joseph Lancaster tossed the empty mesh bag into the box, walked to the baby’s crib, and looking at the sleeping little one, he said softly, “No need, brother, I know you have many business connections, but I can’t rely on you for everything.”
Daxton nodded, having to admit that his brother had a good head for business, went over, and patted Joseph Lancaster on the shoulder.
“Alright then, let me know if you need anything from brother, we’re all family, don’t be shy.
Come on, let’s go eat so we don’t keep everyone waiting too long.”
After dinner, Joseph Lancaster was called over by his mother, he intentionally came back late, not just to embarrass the matchmaker and the girl’s side, but also because the parents felt a bit uneasy.
Regardless of whether he liked the other party or not, Lorelei Howard felt the process had to be followed, after all, the Lancaster Family had a reputation to uphold and couldn’t let outsiders criticize.
“Joseph, what were you thinking today! Making everyone wait for so long, is that how you handle things? Didn’t we agree you would come back early!”
“Mom, I was busy!” Joseph leaned casually on the sofa, absentmindedly fiddling with a throw pillow.
“Busy?” Lorelei Howard retorted with a stern face, “No time for a blind date, but you have time to buy toys for Robert!”
“Joseph, what exactly are you thinking!” Bodhi Lancaster also asked seriously.
“Dad, Mom, haven’t I said that I’ll consider dating after I’ve succeeded in my career?” Joseph said with a hint of helplessness, finding no other excuse.
“Succeeded in your career?” Bodhi Lancaster coldly questioned, “You already own two companies and have opened a new cement factory, isn’t that considered successful?”
“I want to make the business even bigger.” Joseph said indifferently.
“Bigger? How big could it get!” Bodhi Lancaster raised his voice to scold,
“Joseph, I’m telling you, don’t think I don’t know you’re using that as an excuse! Whatever you’re thinking, I’m not sure, but I want to remind you! You’re not young anymore, you’re at the legal marrying age!”
Reaching the legal age but not dating or marrying usually means someone is undesirable or has bad family conditions.
Joseph Lancaster knew these truths, tossed the pillow aside, and said with some helplessness, “Dad, Mom, honestly, I have a girlfriend, you don’t need to worry about me anymore!”
“You have a girlfriend?” Lorelei Howard’s face brightened with joy, then immediately complained, “Why didn’t you tell your dad and me, leaving us in the dark! Joseph, tell mom, what does the girl do, what profession are her parents in?”
Bodhi Lancaster also stared closely at his son, waiting for him to speak.
