The children were treasures to him, irreplaceable, and yet he lost two of them.

Jose Floyd spoke, his fingers clenching the steering wheel as he started the car.

Just as Jose Floyd was about to leave, a car hurriedly drove out of the Seys Family residence, pausing Jose’s actions and drawing the attention of Ariel Morris and the children towards it.

The driver in the car stuck his head out, urgently calling to Ariel Morris, "Young Madam, the Old Master is not doing well. I’m going to pick up the First Madam now, and the family has already informed the Eldest and Second Masters at the military district. The Young Master is on his way back."

"Hurry up! I’ll take care of things at home!"

"Yes, Young Madam."

The driver quickly drove away.

Ariel Morris hurriedly pulled the children towards the house, her face showing panic, and her footsteps slightly unsteady.

Jose Floyd stopped the car and quickly got out, following Ariel Morris’s pace.

"Ariel Morris—" Jose Floyd helped support Ariel Morris’s body, and only after she stabilized a bit did he let go, quietly asking, "Is there anything you need me to help with?"

Ariel Morris glanced at Jose Floyd. She did not speak.

"Just consider it as me fulfilling her filial duty," Jose Floyd said, recalling the driver’s words, knowing that at this critical moment, none of the Seys Family members had returned yet, and fearing Ariel Morris might not handle it alone.

"Uncle, you’re not an outsider; let’s hurry to see Great-Grandfather." Ryan Seys grabbed Jose Floyd’s hand and started walking inside.

Ariel Morris dared not delay either. Hearing that Grandpa was seriously ill, she immediately took Finley Sutherland’s and Iris Seys’s hands and went inside.

Inside Dominic Seys’s room.

Ariel Morris knelt by the bedside, her eyes reddened, "Grandpa, Dad and Second Uncle are on their way back."

Dominic Seys smiled contentedly, but before he could speak, a sound came from downstairs.

"The Young Master is back! The Young Master is back!"

With the servant’s voice, Arlo Seys hurriedly approached, bending down to kneel by Grandpa’s bed alongside Ariel Morris, his voice slightly hoarse, "Grandpa, I’m back."

"Good." Dominic Seys softly responded.

Jose Floyd stood aside, looking at the Seys Family, somewhat dazed.

The Old Master’s condition was obviously deteriorating, and among the Seys Family’s descendants, she was absent, making Jose Floyd’s heart ache slightly.

Old Master Seys weakly instructed his grandson Arlo Seys on some matters, finally directing his gaze to Jose Floyd, who stood silently beside them. With a slight smile, Old Master Seys’s smile was exceptionally kind, "You came too."

Jose Floyd stepped forward, politely and quietly addressing him, "Old Master Seys."

"I never expected to see you in front of me at this time, to see me off..." Dominic Seys’s spirit began to dissipate, his pupils growing weaker by the moment.

"You are her family. Both emotionally and logically, I should be here." Jose Floyd replied in a low voice, "Just consider it as me fulfilling her filial duty. She’s not here, but I am. Because in my heart, she is the only one for me in this lifetime. I know the path of the Seys Family is different from mine, but I’ll finish what needs to be done for her and won’t invite any gossip from outsiders."

The Seys Family and his path were two different roads, and in Old Master Seys’s heart, the Seys Family likely wouldn’t want to be too close to someone like him?

For a prestigious political family like the Seys, being too close to him would definitely invite attention.

Dominic Seys chuckled, his eyes on Jose Floyd deep and unfathomable, like a well with no visible bottom. "You still don’t understand our Seys Family... Reputation and family, for our Seys Family... Family always comes first... Reputation is important, but how can it compare to family? Jose Floyd, when I’m gone, during Qingming Festival, visit me often, bring her along...."
