Dominic Seys sighed, "Forget it, I’m leaving soon, just rambling... Jose Floyd, when that day comes, you can thank me..."

Jose Floyd didn’t pay much attention to Dominic Seys’s words. Seeing Dominic’s gaze starting to lose focus, he sighed inwardly.

Old Master Seys is truly about to depart...

Dominic Seys turned his gaze to his grandson, his voice becoming weaker: "Your father and second uncle didn’t make it back; tell them... Grandpa can’t wait any longer, but I hold no blame and completely understand... Military matters take precedence. I am proud of the responsibility and dedication of the two brothers. Arlo, the Seys Family... from now on, it’s all yours, for young and old alike... I know you won’t disappoint Grandpa..."

Dominic Seys let out a final, gentle breath, his hand letting go of Arlo Seys’s, peacefully closing his eyes.

"Grandpa/Grandpa/Great-grandpa!"

Ariel Morris and Arlo Seys knelt by the bedside with reddened eyes; Ryan Seys and Iris Seys clung to Dominic sobbing.

Jose Floyd stood beside, witnessing everything about the Seys Family. Seeing Dominic Seys depart peacefully, his mind couldn’t help but think of Nicole, feeling a heaviness in both heart and expression, without saying a word.

Veralina Quinn and Lily Cox, two daughters-in-law who had just arrived home and hurried upstairs, entered quickly and reddened their eyes at the scene, calling out "Dad."

When Evan Seys and Enzo Seys returned from the army, Dominic Seys had already been dressed in burial robes, and the two brothers also knelt beside him with reddened eyes.

Throughout his life, Dominic Seys served the nation with integrity and made numerous contributions in his youth. The Seys Family’s status was earned by the scars Dominic acquired fighting in wars. The Seys Family enjoys an excellent reputation in politics, and although they intended Dominic’s funeral to be low-key, many descendants of comrades and political figures still came to pay their respects.

The Seys Family all stood in front of the mourning hall, bowing and greeting friends and relatives saying their final farewell to Dominic Seys. Alex Cooper and Daniel Wilson were also present to bid farewell to Old Master Seys.

The entire funeral was silent, everyone bearing the heavy heart of saying goodbye to Old Master Seys. Apart from the Seys Family, no one noticed a man in a black suit standing solemnly behind them.

Throughout the funeral, during the Seys Family’s heaviest three days, Jose Floyd stood quietly by, not resting for a minute, staying with the Seys Family as they kept vigil for Old Master Seys for three days.

The Cemetery.

After friends and relatives who came to bid farewell had left, the Seys Family lingered, standing in front of Old Master Seys’s grave, weeping.

Jose Floyd pressed his lips together, looking at Old Master Seys’s tombstone, feeling particularly heavy. His gaze shifted to the tombstone buried in the same graveyard, his eyes filled with sorrow and depth.

The Seys Family did not leave the cemetery until nightfall returned. After their departure, Jose Floyd bowed three times to Old Master Seys’s tombstone and said in a deep voice, "Old Master Seys, I’m here in her place to bid you farewell, as a last tribute, to serve as her final filial act. Let me, as a grandson-in-law, see you through this last journey. Farewell."

Jose Floyd exited the cemetery, silently starting the car and driving away.

Watching him drive off, in a car parked not far away, Ariel Morris’s gaze deepened in the passenger seat, "Jose Floyd has changed quite a bit; although he seems colder than before, he’s truly devoted to our Seys Family."

The person driving, with a calm demeanor, had eyes turning deep, gripping the steering wheel, quietly watching Jose Floyd’s departing car in silence.

"Arlo..."
