Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 2767: Welcome to the Show
Because of the metal breakdown, the surface of Punishment City along with the underground structures completely disintegrated. Even if it couldn’t 100% collapse all the metal structures within, it was enough to render this so-called location prop completely obsolete.
Of course, with the building collapsing, the players trapped underground, along with some of the aliens that hadn’t been killed, all managed to escape. Quite a few of them knew Xu Huo, Chai Sheng, and Lei Xiaohe rushed to his side immediately, forming a defensive formation against the Law Enforcement Team players outside the original Punishment City defensive barrier.
"A lot of people have come," Xu Huo glanced slightly, smiling, "So, you can’t film your TV show anymore?"
These people, dressed in white protective suits, not even showing their faces, clearly didn’t want to waste words with them. As one of them gave an attack gesture, the players started their sonic wave instruments one after another, with intense vibrations and sharp sounds echoing within the defensive barrier.
The aliens fleeing in all directions moaned under such attacks, bleeding from ears and noses in a moment, collapsing on the ground—watching the miserable states of the aliens, the players hovering in the air began using props, attempting to forcefully break through Punishment City’s barrier.
However, these barriers could regenerate repeatedly; once a layer was destroyed, another layer would rise immediately. Moreover, the players outside the barrier kept stacking block props, turning the original barrier into a buffer zone, while the barriers formed by the props they carried couldn’t be completely destroyed so easily!
Sure, the barrier also blocked the enforcement players, both sides were at a standstill temporarily, each trying to delay time.
"I’m afraid more enforcement players will come to assist soon," Chai Sheng said to the others, "There are spatial instruments everywhere around here, long-distance spatial teleportation devices probably won’t work effectively; it’s hard for us to completely lose these people’s pursuit all at once. The best way is to escape in different directions, whether we can get away depends on each person’s luck!"
Many zones perhaps didn’t have super players, but the means to deal with regular players were quite rich. At least in terms of instruments and energy weapons, they could keep supplying endlessly; as long as costs weren’t considered, how many could escape safely below super player level?
The longer the time dragged, the less safe they were, so after a brief exchange, three players released explosion props into the air. After several consecutive explosions, there was only a layer of blockade barrier left in the sky, and at this moment, the law enforcement team’s support arrived, with nearly fifty people coming from front to back.
They probably couldn’t wait for more people, Xu Huo looked up at the sky, his hands slightly sinking down, the spatial ray linked to his fingers directly influenced and disintegrated a corner of the blockade barrier. As the barrier began to collapse, the space above Punishment City suddenly cracked, a giant wave over a hundred meters tall soared from another world, instantly covering the entire area of Punishment City.
The blockade barrier was completely swept open, under the pouring waves, the buildings and forest toppled like wheat fields in the wind waves, all falling in one direction!
The players didn’t fare much better, although the defense props they wore were enough to withstand the impact of the tsunami, the tsunami came too suddenly and too close, so whether it was on Xu Huo’s side or the enforcement team’s side, most people were caught up in the waves. Although the speed of the waves wasn’t particularly fast for players, many were swallowed by the waves and never came out!
The curly-haired woman and others who had already escaped looked back, only seeing glimpses of white shadows with the waves, seemingly already dead.
Not investigating how these people died deeply, the curly-haired woman and the others scattered in different directions without looking back.
And this sudden tsunami didn’t last for long; when people on the other side of the city noticed the commotion here, the water source was cut off, and the remaining water cascade quickly fell to the ground completely, the seawater spread out with corpses, reaching the outskirts of the city’s population congregating area when it was reduced to a thin layer.
A few running children didn’t stop and stare at the sound from afar like the surrounding adults; they noticed lots of paper pieces floating on the water’s surface, scrambling to pick them up.
"There are words on this!" one child said, "Do you recognize it?"
"I recognize it! I recognize it!" Another child happily raised the paper piece, "It says, Welcome to watch!"
"Welcome to watch." The city law enforcement team’s aircraft hovered over Punishment City, and the giant metal plate captured in the camera also reflected the glaring light with these four words.
"Boom!" On the other side of the city, at the top floor of a Sky Tower overlooking the whole city, a middle-aged man waved his hand, smashing the floating projector in front of him, furiously saying, "Players from the Outer Zone can cause such damage, the guardsmen are all doing nothing!"
There were three other people present in the office; among them, a white-haired elder calmly said, "Let’s think about how to respond to the Enforcement Department. A third of the guardsmen were borrowed from the Enforcement Department, and now nearly all are dead. The situation inside Punishment City will be exposed to the public eye, Zone laws don’t allow underground livestreaming. Once an investigation begins, the entire company will be implicated."
"Figure out a way to bribe high-level officials in the Enforcement Department, to gain time, and recover the players’ bodies. If Punishment City is gone, it’s gone, anyways it’s almost completely collapsed, there probably won’t be much left."
"How do we explain it to the public?" the elder asked again.
"Do I need to explain to them?" the middle-aged man said angrily, "As usual, find an excuse and deal with it. You still need me to teach you this? All of you, get out!"
The three left the room silently, the middle-aged man hesitated for a while before taking out the communicator, dialing the first contact, but the call didn’t connect for a long time. Just while he was anxious and nervous, the projection screen finally appeared.
"Grandfather..." the middle-aged man hastily began to speak, only to find that the projection was a completely unfamiliar person—no, not entirely unfamiliar, as he saw this face in the live broadcast from Punishment City just two minutes ago!
No time to react, the middle-aged man’s body stiffened in place, unable to move his limbs, unable to make a sound, only able to watch as the person in the projection walked into reality.
Xu Huo picked up the nameplate on the desk, "Towen Smith, Executive Officer of Black Sea Technology Co., Ltd."
Sitting partially on the edge of the desk, he turned back to look at the middle-aged man, "It’s you?"
The middle-aged man’s eyes drooped, indicating he couldn’t speak.
"Can’t speak, can’t nod?" Xu Huo’s gaze turned slightly cold, then he asked again, "Is Punishment City yours?"
This time, the middle-aged man dared not attempt to negotiate, vigorously nodding his head.
"Seems like it was a fake Punishment City then," Xu Huo casually tossed the nameplate back on the desk, "Let’s talk about the primary business of the Smith family then."
