Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 259: Treatment and Accusation
Chapter 259: Chapter 259: Treatment and Accusation
Damian Lynn was petrified.
CRACK... CRASH—!
With a crisp snap, the stone statue lost its balance, tipped forward, and slammed heavily onto the hard ground.
The petrified Damian Lynn instantly shattered into countless pieces, becoming a pile of irregular stone fragments and dust.
A once-vibrant life was now reduced to a chaotic mess of rubble on the ground.
Crystal Lynn clutched the wound on her left arm. It was deep enough to expose bone and still gushing blood.
The intense pain made her face pale, but what stirred more complex emotions was the scene before her.
Damian Lynn’s last strike had been vicious and decisive, clearly aimed to kill her.
If she hadn’t dodged in time, she would be the one lying there, a cold corpse.
But to witness her own father die in such a gruesome manner right before her eyes was an indescribable shock.
"AHHH!!! A murder!!!"
A piercing shriek shattered the dead silence.
The woman who had previously collapsed to the ground now shot up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. Her face was ashen as she pointed a trembling finger at Crystal Lynn, her voice shrill.
"You! You killed your father! You broke the safe zone’s rules! You’re dead! Guards! Where are the guards?!"
After shouting, her gaze greedily swept over Crystal Lynn’s RV as she eagerly declared,
"You killed your father, so this vehicle! And everything inside it! It’s all mine now! I’m his wife!"
Seraphina Sullivan was speechless.
The woman’s "husband" wasn’t even cold, yet her first thought wasn’t of grief or fear, but of how to seize his property. Seraphina found herself utterly exasperated.
’Sure enough,’ she thought, ’the depths of human shamelessness can always surpass your imagination.’
"Sister! Your arm! It’s bleeding so much!" Freya Lynn cried out, her little face pale with fright as she saw the blood streaming from her sister’s arm.
Seraphina immediately snapped out of her lamentation over the baseness of human nature and hurried forward.
"Don’t move. The wound is deep. I’ll perform emergency hemostasis and bandage it for you!"
Right now, treating Crystal Lynn’s injury was the most critical task.
Although Crystal Lynn’s Beast Taming Talent gave her a powerful companion like Beau, it didn’t enhance her own physical constitution.
She was, in essence, still a relatively fragile, ordinary person.
If the wound on her shoulder and arm, which was deep enough to show bone, wasn’t treated effectively and in time, the blood loss alone could be fatal.
It was uncertain whether the safe zone’s medical department was even up and running, let alone how efficient it would be. Any help from them would be too little, too late.
Seraphina’s mind raced. She realized this was the perfect opportunity to solidify her "Medical Assistance" persona.
Her RV was parked nearby, which was the perfect cover.
"Hang in there, I’ll be right back!"
she said to Crystal Lynn before running quickly toward her RV.
Using the body of the vehicle for cover, she quickly retrieved the iconic Medical Treasure Box item from her Scavenger’s Farm Space.
Carrying the box, she returned to Crystal Lynn’s side and immediately got into character.
Her tone was professional and calm. "I’m going to treat you now. Don’t talk. Conserve your strength."
She opened the Medical Treasure Box and first took out the Universal Syringe.
Finding the right spot, she administered a precise injection of Quick Hemostasis.
The effect was almost instantaneous. The gushing blood from the wound visibly slowed.
Soon, Crystal Lynn’s wound was only oozing slightly.
"The bleeding has stopped for now." Seraphina let out a sigh of relief.
She then took out disinfectant supplies to quickly clean the area around the wound. "It needs to be sutured next. Brace yourself for the pain."
Crystal Lynn bit her pale lower lip and nodded.
Seraphina focused her mind, gathering Energy in her hand. A slender Silver Needle shimmering with a faint light instantly took form.
Thanks to the enhancement from her Quick Sewing Skill, as well as her persistent practice with various materials, her suturing technique was already far beyond the ordinary.
Her fingers flew, her movements fluid and precise.
The Silver Needle, trailing an Energy Silk Thread, wove rapidly through the torn flesh of Crystal Lynn’s wound as if performing a piece of delicate, artistic creation.
The depth and spacing were perfect, minimizing tissue damage and the formation of future scars.
In just a minute or two, the gruesome wound was perfectly stitched up, the sutures fine and neat.
The whole time, Crystal Lynn gritted her teeth, enduring the pain of her flesh being sewn together.
Finally, Seraphina deftly applied a healing salve and properly wrapped the wound with a clean bandage.
"All done."
Seraphina straightened up, her tone calm.
"Don’t exert yourself for a while to avoid reopening the wound, and make sure to keep it clean."
Crystal Lynn looked at the cleanly treated wound on her arm, feeling the pain lessen significantly. Her eyes filled with disbelief and gratitude.
She never expected such a severe injury could be brought under control and receive initial treatment so quickly at Seraphina’s hands.
"Thank you! Really... thank you so much!" Crystal Lynn’s voice choked with emotion.
"I was just helping someone in need."
Seraphina replied coolly. Her gaze then swept over their surroundings, and her tone deepened. "However, our problems aren’t completely solved yet."
Crystal Lynn was immediately jolted from the relief of being saved, her eyes following Seraphina’s to look at the crowd.
Sure enough, because of Damian Lynn’s death, the attitudes of the surrounding onlookers—who had previously sympathized with Crystal Lynn and condemned her father—had undergone a subtle change.
The murmurs started up again.
But this time, they were no longer lambasting Damian Lynn. Instead, they began to point their fingers at Crystal Lynn.
"I can’t believe that girl is so cold-hearted and ruthless! That was her own father... she just let him be killed like that? Tsk, tsk, you really can’t judge a book by its cover!"
"Exactly. No matter how wrong her father was, he gave her life, didn’t he? Would she even be here without him? That’s just too cold-blooded!"
"Good thing the safe zone has rules. A dangerous person who dares to kill in public will definitely be kicked out! I don’t want to live in the same place as someone like that. It’s too scary!"
"Hey, look at the one treating her. Is she out of her mind? Helping a murderer?"
"Birds of a feather flock together, I guess. We should stay far away from them from now on..."
Seraphina was speechless.
Listening to these indiscriminate, holier-than-thou comments, she was so angry she almost had to laugh.
’Are these people all selectively blind?’ she thought. ’Didn’t they just see how viciously Damian Lynn ambushed his own daughter with a knife, trying to kill her?’
Seraphina knew full well that these people didn’t care about the truth.
They would only stand on their self-righteous moral high ground and make callous remarks because they weren’t the ones who had been stabbed.
If Crystal Lynn had reacted a moment slower and been stabbed to death on the spot, these same people would now be cursing Damian Lynn and lamenting the tragic fate of the Lynn sisters.
The selfishness and fickleness of human nature were on full display.
Amidst the cacophony of accusations, a single voice suddenly rang out:
"Who’s causing trouble! What happened here?!"
