Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 176: Miraculous Song, Friend Communication List
Chapter 176: Chapter 176: Miraculous Song, Friend Communication List
Two types of monsters clashed.
On one side were the Dark Behemoths, mutated by meteoric substances and wielding terrifying Power. On the other were the monsters of the Petrification Rule, hailing from another world and also born of a special meteoric Energy!
The defenders on the Wall, both Native People and Players, stared dumbfounded at the unimaginable scene, hardly daring to believe their eyes.
"Th-that... what kind of Ability is that?"
"Petrification? It can actually petrify a Night Behemoth?!"
"My god... Who in the world is she?!"
However, something even more unexpected was yet to come.
On this chaotic battlefield, a whirlwind of Petrifying Light and monstrous roars...
...a clear, distant song, imbued with a strange, soothing yet uplifting Power, pierced through the deafening shrieks and explosions, reaching every single person’s ears.
The song came from the edge of the Wall, from the woman in black who had just summoned the Petrifying Legion.
It was Seraphina Sullivan.
She tilted her head back slightly, her red lips gently parting.
Her Musician Profession Ability activated at full Power.
It was the first time she had used this Profession at full strength in the Dark Apocalypse Dungeon.
Seraphina Sullivan had once considered this Profession to be utterly useless, but now it was playing an extraordinary role.
The lyrics Seraphina Sullivan sang were simple yet filled with Power:
"I’m not afraid of the hardships ahead,
I’m not afraid of the obstacles around me,
I possess a searing Power that will never change,
I know every day is for bravely pressing forward,
Wishing everyone a heart of fire..."
The song wasn’t loud, yet it strangely overpowered the clamor of the battlefield.
The melody was like a gentle stream, flowing silently into the depths of everyone’s heart.
The melody carried an indescribable sense of Healing, as if it could soothe fear and banish exhaustion.
And with the song, the Ability of the Musician Profession activated!
To her enemies, the song was like a demonic incantation, carrying the Power to sow confusion and create Illusions.
The Night Behemoths, already panicked and enraged by the Petrification, grew even more confused and frantic under the song’s influence. The rhythm of their attacks and defenses fell into further disarray.
They even began to crash into one another.
Meanwhile, the monsters that had yet to be petrified grew agitated, and their assault faltered.
For her allies, however, the song was like an inspiring war drum and a warm wellspring of Power.
The defenders on the Wall felt a new Power surge from deep within, dispelling a portion of their exhaustion and despair. Their spirits lifted, and even the weapons in their hands seemed to grow a little lighter.
Their once-faltering morale reconsolidated in the midst of this strange song!
The Petrification Light and the song of inspiration!
Two completely different Powers, under Seraphina Sullivan’s control, formed a perfect synergy.
The Petrifying Eye drastically weakened and restricted the monster army’s movements, fatally impeding the most threatening behemoths.
Meanwhile, her Singing Skill massively boosted the defenders’ morale, restoring their mental and physical fortitude.
As one side waned and the other waxed, the tide of the entire battle was forcefully turned!
"What are you waiting for?! Counter-attack! Finish these monsters!"
Drake Hayes was the first to react, letting out a hoarse roar to rally a counter-attack!
He could feel the courage and Power the song gave him.
In that moment, all his previous despair vanished. He had only one thought: eliminate these monsters of the night.
Their morale soaring, the Genetic Warriors and Players seized the golden opportunity, unleashing all their firepower and fury upon the slowed, and in some cases completely frozen, petrified monsters!
The two Night Behemoths, which had become little more than living targets, were the primary focus of everyone’s concentrated fire.
At that moment, the battle reached its decisive turning point.
With the boost from Seraphina Sullivan’s inspiring song and the Petrifying Legion mercilessly turning the tide under Moe’s command, the situation on the Wall reversed in an instant!
The monster offensive, which had been surging like a tidal wave, now seemed to have crashed against an invisible rampart.
The petrified monsters became sitting ducks, easily shattered by the defenders.
The Night Behemoths, their movements severely restricted, became the main target. Ranged attacks rained down on their steadily stiffening bodies, blasting away chunks of stone and flesh.
Dustin Sullivan leaned against a battlement, watching the incredible reversal. A complex, bitter smile crossed his pale face. "Looks like... I still underestimated her."
He had assumed Seraphina Sullivan was just a support Player specializing in Healing, never imagining she was hiding such a terrifying summoned legion and crowd-control Ability.
Beside him, Julian Shaw winced as he tested his newly reattached arm.
His one eye, however, remained fixed on Seraphina Sullivan’s form. His tone held a mix of complaint and deep apprehension. "Dustin Sullivan, you’re a real piece of work. Knowing a hidden ’God’ like her and not bothering to introduce us."
He was now absolutely certain that the alert from the warning bracelet on his wrist had been spot-on. This woman was definitely not someone to be trifled with.
Dustin Sullivan shook his head. "Unfortunately, she’s not a Player from our home world. It was sheer luck that we ran into each other again. Once this dungeon is over, who knows when our paths might cross again."
"What’s there to be unfortunate about?"
Julian Shaw pursed his lips and lowered his voice. "As long as our Player Level reaches Lv. 3, we’ll unlock the Friend Communication List. Then we can add trustworthy Players we meet in different dungeons. If she agrees, we might have a chance to team up in the future."
Hearing this, Dustin Sullivan clenched his fist. He could feel the Power slowly returning to his body thanks to the potion. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes. "Is that information reliable?"
Julian Shaw pointed to his missing left eye and his mechanical arm, his tone carrying a barely perceptible weight. "Heh, how do you think I got these ’injuries’? This is the price I paid for crucial intel. Dammit, I paid a steep price to get that information out of them."
Dustin Sullivan fell silent for a moment, not pressing any further.
"But now’s not the time for that,"
Julian Shaw struggled to his feet and looked out past the Wall at the two behemoths thrashing amidst the Petrification and gunfire. A fire of vengeance burned in his one eye.
"The tide has turned. We need to finish these things off now! This is the perfect chance. I won’t be satisfied until I pay them back for that earlier hit—with interest!"
Though their injuries had only just stabilized and were far from fully healed, the two of them grit their teeth and rejoined the counter-attack.
Dustin Sullivan recalled his longsword. Although he couldn’t use Gigantification again, his sword strikes were as sharp as ever.
Julian Shaw, meanwhile, focused on using his Gravity Control to disrupt the behemoths’ movements, creating openings for the others to attack.
