Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 174: Kill and Crisis
Chapter 174: Chapter 174: Kill and Crisis
The Giant Sword Descends
"Rise!"
Bloodshot veins appeared in Julian Shaw’s single eye, and the veins on his forehead bulged as he pushed his Gravity Control Ability to its absolute limit!
Under his control, the hundred-meter-long giant sword seemed to lose all weight, as if held by an invisible, colossal hand.
The tip of the sword slowly turned, aiming down at the Night Behemoth that had just sensed the threat and was now roaring in fury at the sky!
The Night Behemoth tried to counterattack immediately.
The giant wooden club in its hand shot up toward the giant sword in the sky.
Dustin Sullivan and Julian Shaw hovered in the air, their spiritual power and Talents tightly linked in this moment.
Together, they controlled this Sword of Destruction, a fusion of both their Talent Abilities.
The immense strain caused fine beads of sweat to form on their foreheads. Their veins bulged, and their faces twisted with effort.
But when their eyes met, their killing intent merged into one.
They shouted in unison,
"Go to hell!!"
The hundred-meter-long giant sword, carrying a power that could tear the heavens asunder, chopped down mercilessly toward the Night Behemoth’s head!
The hundred-meter-long giant sword and the massive wooden club swung by the Night Behemoth collided violently in midair!
BOOM—!!!
A terrifying boom far louder than thunder erupted!
A visible, ring-shaped shock wave burst from the point of impact, spreading wildly in all directions like a tsunami.
The shock wave even sent some of the closer flying monsters reeling.
Everyone on the Wall could feel the structure vibrating violently beneath their feet!
Seraphina Sullivan stared up at the clash in the sky, her heart pounding with shock.
Everyone held their breath, waiting with trembling hearts for the outcome.
The stalemate lasted for only an instant!
The next second, the giant sword, empowered by their combined strength, flashed with a cold light. Driven by their roars, it sliced straight into the wooden club!
"CRACK—SNAP!!!"
The ear-piercing sound of it breaking was like an avalanche!
The massive wooden club was split in two, the fractured surfaces as smooth as a mirror!
Its momentum unchecked, the hundred-meter sword continued its rapid descent with enough force to cut through anything, sweeping unerringly across the Night Behemoth’s neck!
Time seemed to freeze for a moment.
Then, the massive, grotesque head slowly separated from its body and, with a frozen expression of disbelief, plummeted to the ground!
The enormous headless body swayed once before it too crashed heavily to the earth like a toppled mountain, kicking up a massive cloud of dust and smoke!
Seeing this,
Someone on the Wall stammered in disbelief, "They... they did it?!"
After a brief, dead silence, a deafening roar of cheers erupted!
"We won! We took down a Night Behemoth!"
"So strong! Is this the power of the Genetic Warriors and those powerful outsiders?!"
Even Dustin Sullivan and Julian Shaw, high in the sky, couldn’t help but grin with excitement. The moment they felt the sensation of the sword cutting through and saw the behemoth’s head fall, the tension that had gripped them finally eased.
The power of their joint attack had exceeded even their own expectations!
"Nice!" Julian Shaw couldn’t help but growl.
Nicholas Jensen was also deeply shaken when he saw this.
’It’s fine, I’m the same,’ he thought. ’Once my Talent gets an upgrade, maybe I can recreate my mecha. Then killing these monsters will be as easy as crushing ants!’
Yep, he wasn’t envious at all!
But Nicholas Jensen had no time for envy.
He immediately went back to controlling his various machines, unleashing a rapid barrage of fire.
However, just as the cheers of victory echoed across the Wall, nearly drowning out the clamor of the battlefield...
A clear, urgent female voice cried out,
"Look out—!!!"
Seraphina Sullivan’s pupils contracted as she shrieked her warning!
The people, still reveling in their victory, were horrified to discover that the other two Night Behemoths hadn’t paused for a second despite their comrade’s death!
One was being temporarily held back by the dense, long-range attacks of the Genetic Warrior unit commanded by Drake Hayes. But the other, which wielded a massive Stone Blade, had already taken advantage of the opening while Dustin Sullivan and Julian Shaw were recovering to launch its own attack.
Its gnarled, muscular arm rose high, and the crude but massive Stone Blade in its hand, radiating an aura of destruction, tore through the air. It swung horizontally with brutal force at Dustin Sullivan and Julian Shaw, whose movements were sluggish from exhaustion!
Before the Stone Blade even reached them, the terrifying wind pressure alone was enough to make them feel like they were suffocating!
The moment they heard Seraphina’s warning, the hair on Dustin Sullivan’s and Julian Shaw’s arms stood on end. A powerful sense of crisis washed over them like a bucket of ice water!
"Brother! Look out!" On the ground, Coco Sullivan’s shriek was tinged with tears.
"Boss! Dodge!" Trevor Tanner roared in desperation.
"Dammit!" A bloody glint flashed in Julian Shaw’s single eye. Reacting in a split second, he roared at Dustin Sullivan, "I’ll handle our movement! You look for a chance to counterattack!"
"Got it!" Dustin Sullivan wasted no words. With a single thought, the energy-guzzling, hundred-meter sword instantly shrank, transforming into a streak of light that flew back to his hand to conserve his spiritual power.
In the split second before the massive Stone Blade, which carried an aura of destruction powerful enough to cleave mountains, was about to slice them in half, Julian Shaw pushed his Gravity Control to its absolute limit!
VMM!
The direction of gravity around the two men instantly changed.
It was no longer pulling them down, but diagonally backward.
Their bodies were yanked violently as if by an invisible giant’s hand, flying backward and narrowly, so narrowly, scraping past the edge of the massive Stone Blade!
The sharp wind from the blade even tore the clothes at their waists, and a searing pain stung their skin.
Everyone on the Wall who saw the perilous scene gasped, holding their breath until they saw the two had successfully escaped, only then slowly letting it out.
"That was close..."
However, Seraphina Sullivan’s brow furrowed, not relaxing in the slightest. "This is no time to let your guard down!"
Her Analysis Glasses clearly captured that just as Dustin Sullivan and Julian Shaw were dodging the Stone Blade’s attack, their stances still unsteady, the Night Bats and Night Demon Moths circling in the sky seemed to receive a command.
Like sharks smelling blood, they converged into two black torrents, letting out piercing shrieks as they began a frenzied dive toward the exhausted pair!
They actually knew how to coordinate their attack with the behemoth on the ground.
Dustin Sullivan fought back the dizziness from overexerting his spiritual power, gritted his teeth, and once again tried to use Gigantification on the longsword in his hand to block and counterattack.
But this time, the Night Behemoth with the Stone Blade was clearly prepared!
It stared at the tiny creature that had just slain its comrade, its giant, crimson eyes burning with furious flames, and let out a deafening roar!
"ROAR—!"
Along with its roar, the muscles on its arms, thick as stone pillars holding up the sky, suddenly bulged. Blue-black veins popped out like writhing serpents, and an even more terrifying Aura erupted from its body—its [Monster Power] Talent, fully activated!
VMM!
The gigantified sword edge once again collided violently with the heavy Stone Blade!
However, the result this time was completely different!
