Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 127: Scavenger’s Farm, Flora and Moe’s Duties
Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Scavenger’s Farm, Flora and Moe’s Duties
Beginning Fusion
[Ding! The fusion process has begun! Integrating spatial rules with the ecosystem module. This will take some time. Please be patient, Player...]
A peculiar warmth spread through Seraphina Sullivan’s body, as if something within her was being re-woven and reconstructed.
She subconsciously tried to open her [Scavenging Backpack] Space, but nothing happened. Clearly, the Space’s functions were temporarily locked during the fusion.
"Well, it looks like I’ll have to wait a bit," Seraphina Sullivan said, reining in her excitement. Since there was nothing she could do for the moment, she decided to find something else to pass the time.
She walked to a corner of the living room to check on the vegetables and the Growth Potatoes Tree saplings growing tenaciously in their makeshift containers.
The Power Apple Branches she had planted earlier were there as well.
They were a vital source of supplies for her.
She gently touched the leaves of a sapling and chuckled softly, "Just hang on a little longer. Once my new Space is ready, I’ll move you to a spacious and comfortable new home so you can grow properly!"
Her eyes were filled with anticipation for the upcoming "Farm Space."
However, the wait didn’t last long.
It felt like only a few minutes had passed before the peculiar warmth circulating through her body suddenly subsided.
Then, a crisp system notification sounded in her mind:
[Ding! Congratulations, Player! Fusion successful! You have acquired a new composite Skill—the Scavenger’s Farm!]
’It worked!’
Hearing the system prompt, Seraphina Sullivan’s heart leaped with joy. She immediately focused her mind to inspect the details of her new Skill.
[Skill: Scavenger’s Farm]
[Effect: You possess an independent, expandable, composite farm Space. This Space combines the three main functions of storage, cultivation, and animal husbandry. It also allows the Player and designated units to enter.]
When she saw the words "allows the Player... to enter," a smile Seraphina Sullivan could no longer suppress spread wildly across her face, finally bursting out as a stifled laugh:
"Haha! This is fantastic! From now on, I won’t have to frantically search for a safe house in apocalypse instances! If I run into a danger I can’t escape, I’ll just duck into the farm Space. Who could possibly find me there?"
’It’s practically a completely safe, portable panic room!’
Without further hesitation, she instructed Sean Chandler, "You stand guard out here. I’m going in to take a look!"
After she spoke, Seraphina Sullivan’s figure vanished with a single thought, and she entered the [Scavenger’s Farm] Space.
Inside the farm Space, Flora and Prince Moe were a little bewildered.
Flora, in particular, was confused. The chaotic storage-only space it was familiar with had suddenly transformed. Although its "nest" and "snacks" (the eyeballs of The Silenti) were still there, they were now surrounded by two strange new areas that smelled of soil and fresh grass.
Just then, they saw Seraphina’s figure appear out of thin air.
Flora immediately waved its vines, contorting its ferocious-looking flower bud into what it presumed was a startled expression. "Master! You can come in now, too! This place just rumbled and changed all of a sudden. It gave Flora a huge fright!"
Seraphina looked at Flora trying its best to act cute despite its terrifying appearance.
Then she glanced over at the corner of the new livestock pen. The Clucker she had caught in a previous instance was huddled in a ball, trembling. Unlike Flora, it was genuinely terrified by the sudden environmental shift and the sight of the scary-looking plant. Seraphina couldn’t help but give a resigned smile.
"Yep, I can come in whenever I want from now on."
She looked around the newly-formed Space. It was the same size as her upgraded Scavenging Backpack, just with two new areas added.
It was still simple, but it was filled with infinite possibilities.
"This is our new home! We need to plan carefully and build it up to be more comfortable and practical!"
Seraphina’s eyes shone with the drive and anticipation of someone about to renovate their very own fixer-upper.
Flora and Prince Moe both nodded seriously.
Seraphina surveyed the newly created cultivation and livestock areas with satisfaction, already drafting a blueprint in her mind.
’I can transplant the vegetable seedlings I’ve collected and the Growth Potatoes Tree into the cultivation area. That will give us a steady supply of fresh vegetables.’
As Seraphina was making her plans, she suddenly remembered the special seed she’d gotten from the Golden Treasure Chest.
’Oh, right! I also have the [Fiery Sunflower Seeds]! I could try planting them here, though they need a high-heat environment... I’ll just plant them for now and see if the Space can simulate the right conditions. If not, I’ll figure out a way to provide heat later.’
She turned to Flora, who was waving its vines beside her, and solemnly entrusted it with a great responsibility. "Flora, from now on, you’re in charge of the grand agricultural enterprise here in the Space! Watering, weeding, checking on their growth—you’ll be my number one little farming expert!"
Hearing that it had been entrusted with such an "important" duty, Flora’s huge flower bud bobbed up and down excitedly, making a rustling sound. "Understood, Master! Flora will make sure the little veggies grow up all plump and juicy!"
Although Flora probably had its own unique interpretation of "plump and juicy."
Just then, Prince Moe came fluttering over to Seraphina, his dark green eyes full of anticipation. "Master, Master, what about me? What can I do?"
Seraphina looked at the little black Imp, then glanced toward the corner of the livestock pen. Several ordinary members of The Silenti were still unconscious under the paralyzing Effect of the [Universal Syringe], held in place by simple Bindings.
’Raising Cluckers is animal husbandry,’ she thought, ’and raising these Silenti who use Petrifying Light... I guess that counts as animal husbandry too?’
’In fact, they might be even more valuable!’
"Moe!" Seraphina announced, having made her decision and, in the same breath, giving him his new name.
"From now on, you’re the Guardian of the livestock pen! You’ll be in charge of managing these Cluckers and... your kinsmen. Keep an eye on them. Don’t let them cause trouble, but don’t let them die, either. Understand?" she said, pointing to the group of unconscious Silenti.
Moe was still just a juvenile with a simple heart. Hearing that he, too, had been given an "important" job, he happily flew a circle around Seraphina and cheered goofily, "Oh! Oh! I’m a Guardian! Moe is a Guardian!"
With that, he immediately flew toward the two Cluckers, which were paralyzed with fear on the ground. He did his best to put on what he believed was a menacing expression and threatened them in a voice only Seraphina could understand, "You hear that? From now on, you’d better behave and lay lots of eggs! Or else... or else I’ll turn you into stone!"
To the Cluckers, Moe was just shouting loudly.
The two poor Cluckers huddled together.
Trembling, they cried, "Bawk bawk..." (Somebody help us! We just want to lay our eggs in peace! Why do we have to deal with this terrifying little Imp?!)
Watching this chaotic scene of "flying chickens and hopping imps," Seraphina couldn’t help but facepalm and chuckle.
’This Scavenger’s Farm is going to be a very lively place from now on.’
