Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 126: Sausage Fried Rice, the Fusion Begins
Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Sausage Fried Rice, the Fusion Begins
Seraphina Sullivan watched as Miss Webb anxiously finished her call for help, her expression finally relaxing a little.
Seraphina had also heard about Justin Brooks’s urgent situation over the phone.
"Sullivan, Chandler, I... I really don’t know how I can ever thank you..." Miss Webb’s voice was still choked with sobs as she wrung her hands, looking both grateful and helpless.
Suddenly, as if remembering something, she hurried into the kitchen and began rummaging around.
Soon, she came out carrying a heavy, still-warm pot and, without taking no for an answer, pressed it into Seraphina Sullivan’s hands. "This is some sausage fried rice I made myself... Please don’t turn it down, you have to take it! I don’t have anything else nice to thank you with right now..."
Seraphina Sullivan looked at Miss Webb’s insistent, grateful eyes, then at the large pot of fragrant fried rice. She found it impossible to refuse and accepted it. "Thank you, Miss Webb. We really shouldn’t have."
"Ah, that’s more like it!" Seeing them accept, a relieved smile finally appeared on Miss Webb’s face.
"Miss Webb, the most important thing for Mr. Brooks right now is to rest. His wound absolutely cannot get infected. As for everything else, wait until his teammates or the officials arrive. They’ll definitely have a solution," Seraphina Sullivan reminded her again.
"I understand, I understand. Thank you, thank you so much." Miss Webb nodded repeatedly and began to clean up the bloodstains and mess on the floor.
Seeing this, Seraphina Sullivan and Sean Chandler took the pot of fried rice and returned to their own home.
After closing the door and placing the fried rice on the table, Seraphina Sullivan stroked her chin and began to think quickly.
’Since we saved Justin Brooks, it looks like we have to accept the favor and the ’credit’ for it. This means Sean Chandler, my ’human shield,’ needs to start playing his part.’
She muttered to herself, her mind racing.
’The officials have been recruiting Players anyway. If we have to join, letting Sean Chandler join them seems like a good option. That way, we can reasonably explain his Ability and his existence, and I can learn about the officials’ internal news and movements through him. It’s killing two birds with one stone.’
But for now, this was all just speculation on Seraphina Sullivan’s part. What they would actually do would have to wait.
Seraphina Sullivan carefully reviewed the treatment process. ’The [Healing Treasure Box] I just got and the [Universal Syringe] I’ve had for a while can perfectly explain Sean Chandler’s healing methods. As for that precise and rapid suturing... hmm...’
Seraphina Sullivan paused. ’We’ll just say it’s part of Sean Chandler’s unique ’Skill Effect’ or ’Talent Ability.’ Player Abilities are all sorts of weird, so that should be convincing enough.’
Having made up her mind, Seraphina Sullivan felt much more relaxed.
This way, she could repay Miss Webb’s kindness, give Sean Chandler a plausible and even valuable identity, and open a window for herself to gather intelligence.
"We’ll do it this way." Seraphina Sullivan glanced at the silent Sean Chandler standing by her side. "When the time comes, it’ll be up to you to perform."
Sean Chandler nodded blankly, indicating that he understood.
After a moment’s thought, Seraphina Sullivan added, "But speaking of which, after this, we really do need to start consciously practicing basic first-aid and bandaging skills. Your technique earlier... well, it was terrible. It looked like you were trying to wrap a rice dumpling."
Sean Chandler: "..."
"Let’s not talk about that for now. We’ve been busy for a while, and I’m hungry. Let’s eat."
Seraphina Sullivan waved her hand, temporarily setting aside her worries.
She had truly gained a great deal in this instance, so her mood wasn’t too negatively affected by the incident with Justin Brooks.
She opened the pot of sausage fried rice that Miss Webb had given them, and the aroma immediately filled the air.
The two of them had a simple, belated meal.
After eating, Seraphina Sullivan walked to the window and looked outside.
The downpour showed no signs of stopping, the rain washing over the world.
The murky floodwaters had already submerged the lower levels. She could vaguely see that some of the third-floor windows were completely underwater.
However, as far as she knew, long before the floodwaters reached dangerous levels, evacuation teams organized by the officials had already transferred the residents from the first to the fifth floors to established shelters.
’I wonder what the official shelters are actually like... what are the conditions?’ she muttered to herself, gazing at the blurry silhouette of the city shrouded in the rain.

Meanwhile, at a temporary official command post.
Philip Jensen put down the communicator, his face etched with worry.
His heart clenched when he heard that Justin Brooks was in critical condition.
"Philip, I heard you’re rushing back to see Captain Brooks? Take me with you!" Ronald Lynn, who was standing nearby, said urgently, his face filled with concern.
The few of them belonged to the same operations team and had been through life-and-death situations together, forging a deep bond.
He had medicine on him that could treat serious injuries—part of his personal stash—which would come in handy now.
Philip Jensen nodded heavily. "Alright! The situation is urgent. We need to get back as soon as possible!"
Ronald Lynn patted the backpack he was carrying. "I’ve got some medicine here too. Hopefully, it can be of use. Let’s head out now!"
Without another word, the two quickly threw on their rain gear. Their figures soon vanished into the vast curtain of rain, hurrying in the direction of Justin Brooks’s home.
「...」
Seraphina Sullivan took a deep breath, her eyes glinting with excitement and determination.
In her left hand, she held the [Universal Fusion Card] she had gotten from Sean Chandler. In her right, she clutched the [Breeding Small Farm] bracelet she had obtained from a [Golden Treasure Chest]—it looked as if it were woven from tiny vines and wood grain.
She just couldn’t wait any longer. She was afraid that any delay might bring unforeseen trouble and she’d lose this treasure that could completely change her method of storing supplies.
’No more waiting! I’ll fuse them now!’ Seraphina Sullivan made up her mind, no longer hesitating.
Focusing her will, she immediately used the [Universal Fusion Card] in her hand!
[Ding! Please select two targets for fusion.]
Seraphina Sullivan had already decided. Her targets were her inherent Skill, [Scavenging Backpack], and the item in her hand, the [Breeding Small Farm] bracelet.
She hoped to perfectly integrate the item’s function into her Skill.
[Selection confirmed: Skill - Scavenging Backpack & Item - Breeding Small Farm]
[Ding! Please select the dominant entity for the fusion. This will determine the new Ability’s core form and primary traits.]
"Of course, I choose the [Scavenging Backpack] Skill to be dominant!" Seraphina Sullivan answered without hesitation.
What she wanted wasn’t an item that had to be separately equipped and used, but a farm Space Skill that was truly her own, one she could control as easily as a limb!
[Dominant entity confirmed: Skill - Scavenging Backpack!]
As soon as the selection was complete, the [Universal Fusion Card] in her hand instantly transformed into a soft, brilliant white sphere of light.
The sphere of light first enveloped the [Breeding Small Farm] bracelet. Within the light, the wooden bracelet seemed to melt, breaking down into countless glimmering green runes and streams of data.
Immediately after, the sphere, which contained immense Energy, contracted sharply and shot directly into Seraphina Sullivan’s body!
