He knelt beside the remaining crate materials. Two more brackets. Copper wire. Stone dust. He processed possibilities at superhuman speed. The Molecular Forge interface overlaid blueprints on the raw materials.

"What are you making?" Serah asked.

"Demonstrations." He placed his hands on the materials. The Forge activated. Atoms separated. Bonds broke. The molecular soup formed again, ready for reassembly.

This time he built three items simultaneously. The Essence cost was higher. 150 Essence for three simultaneous creations. But the effect would be worth it.

The first item was a vial. Not glass. Crystal. He reformed the stone dust into a transparent crystalline container, then lined the interior with a thin layer of carbon-based filtration mesh. The result was a purification vial. Pour contaminated water in. The mesh would filter toxins, minerals, and dimensional residue. Clean water comes out. A simple thing. A thing that could save lives in the Undercity where water quality killed more people than Rifts.

The second item was a blade. Not a weapon. A surgical tool. He reformed the iron into a precision instrument with a molecular edge so sharp it could cut between cells. The copper wiring became a conductive handle that would channel a healer’s Essence directly into the incision, cauterizing as it cut. A tool that turned surgery from butchery into art.

The third item was a communication crystal. He reformed the remaining copper and iron into a magitech relay device, using the last crawler core fragment as a power source. The crystal would transmit encrypted messages across ten kilometers, bypassing standard Royal Guard communication jamming. A tool for coordination. A tool for resistance.

The creation wheel spun three times. Three separate rolls.

[DING!]

[Creation Roll 1: Purification Vial]

[Multiplier: 85X (Uncommon)]

[Creation EXP: 8,500]

[Quality: Standard. Functional. Reliable.]

[DING!]

[Creation Roll 2: Surgical Blade]

[Multiplier: 1,200X (Epic)]

[Creation EXP: 120,000]

[Quality: ENHANCED. Molecular edge self-sharpening. Essence conductivity tripled. Latent dissolution resistance inherited from Host resonance.]

[CRITICAL WARNING: Epic creation roll detected.]

[World Will status: EMERGENT VARIABLE (MONITORED)]

[No Fate Enforcer deployment triggered.]

[The World Will is observing but not intervening.]

[The System notes that creation-tier operations appear to generate less hostility than probability manipulation.]

[DING!]

[Creation Roll 3: Communication Crystal]

[Multiplier: 45X (Uncommon)]

[Creation EXP: 4,500]

[Quality: Standard. Functional. Reliable.]

[Total Creation EXP this session: 133,000]

[EXP Bank: 10,445,000 + 133,000 = 10,578,000]

[Creation proficiency: APPRENTICE → ADEPT (Molecular Forge)]

Three items sat on the stone floor. The purification vial caught the dim light. The surgical blade gleamed with molecular precision. The communication crystal pulsed with a faint green heartbeat from its crawler core power source.

Tobias picked up the communication crystal. His new arm handled it delicately, the fingers responding to his intent with organic sensitivity. "This bypasses Royal Guard jamming?"

"Ten kilometer range. Encrypted. Undetectable by standard magitech scanners." Alvian wiped his hands on his ruined shirt. "The Undercity resistance can use it. If there is still one."

"There is always one." Tobias turned the crystal over. "Hendricks Cole has been organizing. The black market dealers. The grey-market pharmacists. The retired delvers. People the Guilds forgot. People the King does not know exist. They have been waiting for a reason to act."

Serah held the surgical blade up to her circuitry pad. The scanner could barely resolve the edge. The blade was sharper than anything she had ever seen. "This is worth more than most Academy departments produce in a year. And you made it in thirty seconds."

"The purification vial is more important," Alvian said. "The Undercity water supply kills more people than the King does. If I can produce these at scale, every household in the thirteenth level gets clean water. That is not a weapon. That is leverage that does not need threats."

Serah set the blade down carefully. She looked at him with the expression she got when her scientific mind was racing ahead of her mouth. "You are not planning to fight the King. You are planning to make yourself too valuable to kill."

"The King wanted me as a weapon. Weapons can be locked up. Weapons can be controlled. But a creator? Someone who can produce things nobody else can? That is a different calculation. If I demonstrate Molecular Forge capabilities publicly, if I show that I can create medical tools, purification systems, prosthetics, things that benefit the entire kingdom, then killing me becomes more expensive than keeping me alive."

Tobias laughed. It was a rough sound, unused to happening. "You are going to buy your own pardon with bug cores and scrap metal."

"I am going to make the King realize that the asset he wanted to control is worth more free than chained."

[DING!]

[Host has identified strategic application of Creation Tier capabilities.]

[The System approves of this approach.]

[Creation as leverage. Creation as currency. Creation as freedom.]

[The System notes that this is the first time a Host has attempted to resolve political conflict through manufacturing rather than combat.]

The Epic roll on the surgical blade had given him pause. The World Will had noticed but not intervened. Creation-tier operations seemed to generate less hostility than probability manipulation. The System was right. Building things was less threatening to reality than breaking it. If he leaned into creation, he might be able to operate without triggering further Fate Enforcer deployments.

’Less hostile. Not safe. But less hostile. That is enough.’

"The plan has three phases," Alvian said. He held up one finger. "Phase one. Distribute the purification vials and medical tools through Hendricks’s network. Free. No cost. Let the Undercity see what I can make. Let the word spread."

Second finger. "Phase two. Contact the Guild factions that are fracturing. The ones opposed to the King’s decree. Offer them something the King cannot. Manufacturing capabilities. Medical supplies. Communication infrastructure. Things that make their lives better and their dependence on the Crown weaker."

Third finger. "Phase three. Public demonstration. Not in the Undercity. On the surface. In front of witnesses. In front of cameras. Show the entire kingdom what Molecular Forge can do. Make the King choose between killing me and losing the most valuable asset in his realm."
