Immortality Starts With Selling Pills
Chapter 94: Utopia
Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Utopia
TianChen City Airport.
Derrick stepped on the massive teleportation formation.
The moment Derrick landed one that glass platform, his teeth started aching.
The ride here left a metallic taste right on the back of his tongue.
Every major city had a teleportation platform in one place or another. There was one in TianChen City as well.
The moment he had stepped on it, it felt like the world had ripped apart.
Because, it did.
For a fraction of a second.
It wasn’t like riding a fast elevator or dropping on a coaster.
It felt like someone took a giant fist, squeezed his organs flat, and threw his soul into a blender.
Gravity completely quit on him.
His body was floating in nothingness, out of his control.
It was because Keira was close to her, he did not feel as panicked as he would have if he was alone.
His stomach shot straight into his throat, his chest caved in so hard he couldn’t even suck in air, and his vision smeared into a nasty blur of bright silver streaks.
The pressure in his ears popped like he’d just plunged fifty feet underwater in a microsecond.
And then, just as fast as it hit him, it stopped.
THUD.
His boots slammed back onto solid stone.
Utopia, Capital City Of Federation.
In less than a second, Derrick crossed the distance of hundreds of miles.
But it was not without consequences.
Air rushed back into his lungs with a sharp gasp, smelling like fresh breath and old money.
Derrick kept his cool and didn’t fall over, but he definitely had to lock his knees for a second while his head stopped spinning.
"It will last for a second, take deep breaths." Keira said from the side. "You get used to it with time. If you had Enhanced energy, you might not have felt a thing."
Derrick followed her instructions.
He swallowed down the slick taste of spatial sickness, rolled his shoulders, and took a deep breath.
It felt awful, but damn if it wasn’t effective.
"Feel better?" Hearing Keira’s question, Derrick nodded and she continued, "Let’s get out of here. We don’t have much time."
Just as they were about to climb the elevated platform of steel ring with metal tubes and thick wires coursing with silver liquid were lying around, a pair of guards stepped out sharply to block their path.
"Please, show your identification and register with the main desk before leaving the premise."
"We also need to check you and any items you might be carrying."
Keira didn’t even slow down.
She pulled out a dark metallic guild ID that belonged to her and flashed it in their faces.
The guards froze instantly.
"Ah— please forgive us for the delay." They suddenly straightened up.
Their hostile posture vanished, and they stepped back to clear the lane.
They did not even check them or their luggage before allowing them to leave.
Derrick felt a strange type of satisfaction watching Keira toss her authority around.
Instead of heading toward the main exits, Keira turned off toward a private wing.
They walked into a restricted teleportation hall.
It was silent and completely empty.
"Stop! This is not a place you can just walk—"
She held up her card to the armored guards stationed outside. "Chen Residence."
The guard in charge, the same man who had just spoken, froze.
"I apologize, Miss. Chen." He scanned the pass and snapped a sharp salute.
"We will prepare it right away."
They rushed to start the private array.
There was not a person in the room who did not know her name.
Before, Keira had covered her face to avoid attracting any attention but once she walked into the room, she removed the mask and the shades covering her face.
The guards glanced curiously toward the unfamiliar boy accompanying the heiress of the Chen Family.
But not a single guard dared to speak.
Derrick stood tall, unbothered by their stares.
He had already swapped his training gear for an expensive-looking black suit with a clean white shirt underneath before leaving TianChen city.
"I still cannot believe you got your hands on something like that," Keira whispered, glancing at his suit.
"How can I not dress properly when I am going to meet your family for the first time." Derrick chuckled quietly under his breath.
"You did not think, I would meet them looking like bum, did you?"
"Well, I have to say I had my doubts."
"Hey! I am not that dumb."
The guards were shocked to hear the conversation between the two of them.
Not only could they not believe someone would talk to Keira like that but they could not even wrap their head around the fact that she was allowing him to do so.
Derrick hurriedly followed Keira into the private teleportation circle.
Once more they vanished and reappeared in a different space.
This time, Derrick had a much better time bracing himself now that he knew what was coming.
They appeared inside a closed hall that was bigger than three of Derrick’s entire houses put together.
A dozen elite guards stood around the room.
"Welcome back, Young Miss!" The moment the light cleared, every single guard dropped into a deep bow.
Keira didn’t even glance at them.
"Follow me closely," she murmured flatly.
Derrick fell into step beside her without uttering a word.
As they walked through the front gates, the true scale of the estate opened up around them.
Traditional slate-roofed buildings, manicured gardens, and polished stone paths stretched out in every direction.
The entire property was bigger than the neighborhood street Derrick lived on back home.
High up in the sky, flying vehicles were not the only thing he saw. There was a giant clock hovering in the air, showing time.
There were also buildings, floating in the air.
Everything looked so otherworldly, it was like a whole new world compared to TianChen City.
Servants in dark uniforms were scattered everywhere, scrubbing walkways and tending to the grounds.
Every time Keira passed, they stopped instantly and dropped into deep, stiff bows.
Keira ignored them all, distaste clear in her eyes.
Derrick noticed everything, but he stayed silent.
"Do you live here?" Derrick asked softly.
"No way," Keira scoffed. "This is just my family’s mansion. I live alone."
As they were talking, a smooth voice echoed across the courtyard ahead.
"Well, well. If it isn’t my favorite niece."
Derrick looked up.
Walking down the wooden porch was a middle-aged man in a dark tailored suit. He had a warm smile plastered on his face as he walked towards Keira and Derrick.
Beside him was his son, a teenager who looked to be the exact same age as Derrick.
The kid had his hands shoved in his pockets, walking with a lazy, arrogant smirk.
