I Tame Beasts by Feeding
Chapter 325 - 270: Spirit Communication Dao Body 2
Chapter 325: Chapter 270: Spirit Communication Dao Body 2
After speaking, Elder Wei reached out and pressed his hand against the empty air. In an instant, Spiritual Light converged to form a map that sparkled with crystalline light. He then tapped a finger on Yu Changsheng’s forehead, and the map surged into his mind.
"This is a map of the Illusion Mist Beast Valley, and it comes with some special permissions. With this, you’ll be able to sense the location of any Fog Beast within this Secret Realm.
The white fog in the Illusion Mist Beast Valley won’t hinder you. In fact, you can borrow its power to teleport from point to point."
"Clear out all the Fog Beasts, and your trip to this Secret Realm will be truly complete."
"Mmm-hmm." Yu Changsheng nodded obediently.
"Go, then."
Elder Wei’s voice was still faintly echoing. The next moment, a flash of light enveloped Yu Changsheng. After a dizzying spin, he opened his eyes to find he had already left the sealed land.
"Changsheng?!"
An incredulous voice called out. Yu Changsheng turned and saw Li Minghan staring at him, his eyes filled with a disbelieving excitement.
"Where did you run off to?!"
Shaking his head to clear it, Yu Changsheng came to his senses. He turned to look at Li Minghan’s astonished and excited face, and before he could even react, he was pulled into a fierce hug.
"That... is a long story."
Yu Changsheng gently pushed Li Minghan away and gave a helpless smile. Seeing the concern on Li Minghan’s face, he felt a warmth spread through his heart.
"Changsheng? Are you okay?"
Zhang Tianwen let out a long sigh of relief and carefully observed Yu Changsheng. When he saw that he was not only fine but that all his injuries had completely healed, a flash of astonishment crossed his eyes.
"I’m fine. There was an unexpected incident, but overall, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise."
Yu Changsheng shook his head with a smile and nodded at Zhang Tianwen, offering no further explanation.
"As long as you’re okay. That’s all that matters."
Li Minghan patted his chest in relief. But a moment later, he seemed a bit dazed. A suspicious look appeared on his face as he looked at Yu Changsheng. He spoke again, his tone probing:
"Changsheng?"
"Hm?" Yu Changsheng smiled and turned to Li Minghan, his expression pleasant.
"Are you really Yu Changsheng? You feel... different somehow."
Li Minghan muttered, sizing up Yu Changsheng carefully, a wary expression on his face.
"Senior Brother Zhang, this guy isn’t a Fog Beast in disguise, is he?"
"You punk..."
Yu Changsheng scolded playfully, then summoned the Colorful Star Deer with a wave of his hand.
"No more doubts now, right?"
Seeing this, Li Minghan’s tense expression finally relaxed, and he beamed at Yu Changsheng.
"I guess I was overthinking things," Li Minghan chuckled sheepishly, scratching his head and marveling. "It’s just that the feeling you give off, Changsheng, is completely different. Your whole aura has changed."
"Like, more otherworldly?"
Li Minghan mused uncertainly.
"I’m still me. I just had a bit of a fortunate encounter."
Yu Changsheng shook his head, not surprised. ’It makes sense,’ he thought. ’I’ve practically been reborn this time, even forging the Spirit Communication Dao Body. It’s only natural that my aura would be affected.’
It wasn’t strange for Li Minghan to feel this sense of unfamiliarity. Yu Changsheng understood completely.
"Alright, as long as he’s fine, there’s no need to be so jumpy and suspicious. Still, it’s never wrong to be cautious. Any other questions can wait until after we leave the Secret Realm."
Zhang Tianwen shook his head and chuckled. He watched the scene with a flash of envy in his eyes before turning his gaze to Yu Changsheng. His look was deep, filled with astonishment.
’This kid...’ he thought. ’His Spiritual Qi is forming vortexes and condensing on its own. His Cultivation has also grown much deeper and more refined. He must have had an extraordinary stroke of fortune in this Secret Realm.’
Zhang Tianwen mused to himself. A smile appeared on his face as he looked at Yu Changsheng—not of jealousy, but of genuine blessing. He didn’t press for details.
His perception was far sharper than Li Minghan’s. While Li Minghan only sensed that Yu Changsheng’s aura was different, Zhang Tianwen could see things on a much deeper level.
"The Secret Realm closes in a day. You had us worried sick for the last half-day. Thank goodness you’re alright, Changsheng. Otherwise, I really wouldn’t know how we’d answer to the sect."
Zhang Tianwen said with a smile, wiping the imaginary sweat from his brow. It was clear he had been under a lot of stress.
"My apologies for making you worry." Yu Changsheng looked apologetic and gave them a cupped fist salute.
"For the final day, the three of us should properly clear out this Secret Realm. As it happens, I gained a few new tricks that we can put to good use."
Yu Changsheng looked up at their confused expressions. Sensing the map in his mind, he smiled faintly. With a single thought, he consulted the map, then waved his hand. Streams of profound energy flowed out, the surrounding white fog roiled, and for an instant, space itself seemed to twist.
In the next instant, they reappeared in a different location, the cries of Fog Beasts echoing all around them.
"Huh?"
Li Minghan was dumbfounded and Zhang Tianwen was astonished. A sharp glint flashed in Zhang Tianwen’s eyes. He gave Yu Changsheng a deep look and a cupped fist salute before turning, summoning his Tamed Beast, and beginning to clear out the Fog Beasts.
"Just a little trick."
Yu Changsheng chuckled, looked at the still-stunned Li Minghan, and clapped him on the shoulder. Then he followed Zhang Tianwen and joined the slaughter of Fog Beasts.
This was precisely one of the special permissions Elder Wei had given him within the Secret Realm: point-to-point teleportation.
Moreover, when he swept the area with his Divine Sense, the white fog offered no resistance at all. On the contrary, it acted as a sort of enhancement, allowing him to perceive things much farther away.
He only needed to focus his senses for a moment to know the location of every Fog Beast. His efficiency skyrocketed. It was like having a cheat code.
With the three of them working in concert, they cut through the white fog like an unstoppable force. Before long, they had completely cleared the area of Fog Beasts.
Another flash of light, another surge of white fog, and the three of them teleported again to begin a new round of reaping.
After doing this several times, their harvest in a single hour was greater than what they had gathered in the previous two days combined.
The number of remaining Fog Beasts in the Secret Realm was dwindling at an astonishing rate.
"This ability of yours is incredibly convenient," Li Minghan exclaimed. "At this rate, it won’t be long before all of our Tamed Beasts have another breakthrough."
He said this excitedly as he watched his Red Mountain Sub-Dragon—which had already devoured numerous Fog Beast Origins and broken through to the Tier Two Sixth Layer—looking at Yu Changsheng with a grateful gaze.
"The effect of the Fog Beast Origin diminishes the stronger they get. It probably won’t be this easy for much longer."
Yu Changsheng shook his head and chuckled, though he felt a pang of regret.
’The Fog Beasts are formed from the lost Origin of the Profound Turtle. It’s an incredible tonic for Tamed Beasts, of course, but the effects diminish the stronger they become.’
’Unless they encountered a truly powerful source, another promotion would be very difficult.’
"This is already great; we can’t ask for too much. Our clearing speed is something others can only dream of."
Li Minghan chuckled, not at all concerned, but rather looking quite content.
Zhang Tianwen watched from the side and smiled, clearly in agreement.
Yu Changsheng fell into thought. He closed his eyes, sensing the map in his mind, then hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"That being the case... I’ve sensed a particularly active Fog Beast at the very core of this white fog. I’m afraid its Cultivation has reached the Half-step Golden Core realm. If we could defeat it... I wonder what you two think?"
After a long moment, Yu Changsheng opened his eyes and slowly exhaled, addressing the other two.
In his Perception, a Fog Beast at the core of the white fog was exceptionally active. Its life force was as brilliant as a lighthouse in the dead of night.
The aura it gave off felt comparable to a Half-step Golden Core. If he wasn’t mistaken, it was likely the most powerful Fog Beast in this Secret Realm.
An existence like that was not something Yu Changsheng could handle alone. But with Li Minghan and Zhang Tianwen, it wasn’t impossible to give it a shot.
Especially since he had teleportation privileges within this Secret Realm. Even if they couldn’t win, escaping would be no problem.
