I Married the President
Chapter 679: Not Important
Chapter 679: Chapter 679: Not Important
Claire Sinclair glanced down at his hand and warned, "Mr. Kingsley, please behave yourself."
Ethan Kingsley’s eyes narrowed slightly, and he abruptly let go of her hand.
Only then did Claire Sinclair say, "I don’t have any ulterior motives. I just know Ivy Tanner has been miserable, and as long as I can make her smile again, I’ll do whatever she asks of me."
Ethan Kingsley frowned. "Why are you so concerned about her?"
Claire Sinclair smiled. "Because everyone around you wants her dead, and I can’t just stand by and watch."
Ethan Kingsley: "..."
Claire Sinclair had no intention of wasting any more words with him. "Mr. Kingsley," she said finally, "if there’s nothing else, I’ll be going. Excuse me."
Ethan Kingsley was silent for a moment before taking a step to the side.
Claire Sinclair walked away without a single glance back.
Only then did Corinne Linden come over and grab Ethan Kingsley’s arm. "Can we talk?"
Ethan Kingsley glanced at her, feeling an inexplicable flicker of impatience. "Talk about what?"
"We’ve been giving each other the cold shoulder for a month, and I don’t want this to continue. Let’s get everything out in the open. I need an answer from you—do you want to stay with me or not?"
Ethan Kingsley said flatly, "If you want to be with me, then don’t ask such meaningless questions."
Tears welled up in Corinne Linden’s eyes, her voice laced with grievance. "You had so much to say to Claire Sinclair for some fool’s sake, but you can’t even be bothered to say three words to me."
As they spoke, a crowd had started to gather.
Not wanting this to make the headlines, Ethan Kingsley wrapped an arm around Corinne Linden’s waist, gave her a perfunctory kiss to placate the situation, and left without another word.
Corinne Linden stood frozen in place, dumbfounded. She raised a hand to her lips, her heart filled with an endless sense of loss.

Claire Sinclair found a quieter spot to sit and wait. After more than ten minutes with no sign of the Great Demon King Quincy, she decided to just go out for a walk on her own.
She had no idea what to get for Orion Osborne, so she went to a snack shop, bought a ton of snacks, and had them put into a gift box.
’We met as children, but that innocence is long gone now. Maybe these snacks can fill the void,’ she thought, ’even though he’ll probably just throw them away after he gets them.’
After buying the snacks, Claire Sinclair was ready to head home. But just as she came down the stairs, she saw him—the Great Demon King Quincy.
Claire Sinclair walked over to him and protested, "Mr. Quincy, you’re an hour late!"
Adrian Quincy nodded. "Sorry, I just came from the hospital."
Claire Sinclair froze for a second, then asked with concern, "What were you doing at the hospital?"
"My mother was hospitalized. I went to see her."
"What?" Claire Sinclair exclaimed. "You mean..."
Adrian Quincy raised a hand to cover her mouth, cutting her off. In a low voice, he said, "Don’t worry, my mother is fine. The doctor said she’s probably been overthinking things lately, which has affected her mental state. That, combined with her age... she can’t take much turmoil."
Claire Sinclair lowered her head and asked quietly, "Should I go to the hospital to see her?"
Adrian Quincy shook his head. "You don’t need to go."
"Will people talk?"
"It doesn’t matter."
His "it doesn’t matter" dispelled Claire Sinclair’s worries. "Okay, then. I’ll listen to you. I already bought the gift—it’s just some snacks. Let’s go home!"
Adrian Quincy thoughtfully took the gift box of snacks from her and led her home.
The next day, Claire Sinclair went to work at the newspaper agency as usual.
As quitting time approached, she called Landon Winston over and asked him to deliver the box of snacks to Orion Osborne at The Blue Cafe.
