Chapter 677: Chapter 677: The Missing Person Returns

Claire said reassuringly, "You can always plant new flowers. Are you getting used to your new place?"

"It’s not bad. The people here are all very friendly to me."

"That’s good. We should find a time to meet up and hang out. It’s no fun just talking on the phone."

"Okay, I’ll let you get back to work then. Bye."

The call ended.

For some reason, Claire always felt her mood lift after a call with that girl.

It felt... healing.

When work ended that day, Claire immediately grabbed her bag and excitedly ran downstairs.

It was only when she got in the car that she realized The Great Demon King Quincy wasn’t there. He had only sent Aiden Howkins to pick her up, saying he would meet her at the mall.

Claire arrived at the mall first. Not sure what to buy, she found a dessert shop, sat down, and ordered a sago drink.

Feeling bored, she took out her phone and logged into Weibo. She hadn’t posted in a long time, and the comments on her last post numbered over a hundred thousand. Many people were calling her a missing person.

Not wanting her fans’ imaginations to run wild, Claire published a long post:

"This past month, while I was out of touch, I did go through some harrowing experiences. Thankfully, I was rescued in the end, and I’m very sorry for making everyone worry.

Also, I’d like to mention that bringing the truth of Hell’s Paradise to light was not my achievement alone. I’m not that amazing; my colleagues uncovered much of the evidence. I hope everyone can focus more on the incident itself, and not on meaningless things like fame and personal credit.

Lastly, I need to share something with all of you. For health reasons, I’ll need to take some time off. I probably won’t be writing any articles during this period, but I will do my best to stay in touch. I wish you all a happy life."

As soon as the post went live, her fans immediately turned into Sherlock Holmeses.

"Was the harrowing experience a kidnapping? Is the ’health reason’ a pregnancy?"

"I think she probably got injured while investigating Hell’s Paradise. After all, that whole affair was so serious."

"Claire, honey, you have to take good care of yourself!"

"I’d rather believe you’re pregnant! I hope you’re not actually sick!"

"Are you pregnant?"

Of course, Claire wasn’t going to announce her pregnancy, and she didn’t plan on explaining anything either.

She had just put down her phone when she overheard a few women talking nearby.

"No way. It’s been almost a month. You two still haven’t made up?"

"Make up? What’s there to make up? Ever since that fool got married off, he hasn’t called me a single time. Every time I call to ask about him, they just say he’s working overtime. I’ve never known him to be this busy."

Her friend looked at Corinne Linden sympathetically and said in a serious tone, "Corinne, listening to you, I think Ethan Kingsley might actually have special feelings for that fool."

Corinne Linden bit her lip. "I’ve thought about that, too. I even asked him in person. He just said that he owes that fool. But even an idiot could see how worried he is about her."

Her companion sighed. "But that fool is already married; she’s clearly no threat to you anymore. For him to still be like this... what are you going to do? The two of you can’t keep fighting over some irrelevant woman forever."

Corinne Linden was silent for a moment. Just as she was about to speak, she caught a pair of eyes watching her from across the room out of the corner of her eye. She immediately changed her tune and exclaimed, "Claire Sinclair, what are you doing here?"

’This woman must have heard everything we just said!’

Claire offered a polite smile. "You don’t own this shop, do you? My being here isn’t bothering you, is it?"
