Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Too Ashamed to Stop It Anymore

"What? You and Ophelia became mates?" Kosa’s eyes widened in astonishment.

Soro also quickly denied it. "That’s impossible. You don’t have Ophelia’s scent on you at all."

Seeing how they doubted his mating with Ophelia, Klein’s face darkened further. "What? Do I need to inform you when Ophelia and I become mates?"

Seeing Klein’s serious expression, Soro knew it was true. He put on an ingratiating smile. "We were just joking earlier. Amy has been missing for a while. We can’t find her, so we wanted to ask Ophelia."

"Missing? Where could such a young child go? Didn’t you look for her?" Rebecca’s heart immediately leapt into her throat upon hearing the news of Amy’s disappearance.

Ophelia also frowned slightly.

"We’ve searched many places but couldn’t find her, so we came to ask," Soro explained. "Has Ophelia seen her?"

"She isn’t in our Fuzu Tribe. You’ve come to the wrong place," Ophelia replied coldly.

Seeing the atmosphere turn frigid, Soro didn’t dare stay any longer. "Alright, alright. We’ll go look elsewhere."

With that, he prepared to lead his tribesmen away. However, upon turning around, he saw that his people were still being held down by the members of the White Tiger Clan. He looked at Klein cautiously. "I beg the White Tiger King to show mercy and let my tribesmen go."

Klein didn’t agree immediately. He glanced at Ophelia first. Seeing that she had no intention of stopping him, he finally raised his hand slightly, signaling his men to let them leave.

The appearance of the White Tiger King sparked various thoughts among the onlookers, elevating their assessment of Ophelia to a whole new level. They never imagined that she could actually form a connection with the White Tiger King, let alone become his mate. With the backing of the White Tiger Clan, the Fuzu Tribe was bound to become the most powerful tribe in the vicinity of Ten Thousand Beasts City.

The other tribe leaders present all wanted to curry favor with Klein, but knowing the timing was wrong, they made excuses to leave one by one.

Seeing Klein again after so many days, Ophelia still felt a bit uncomfortable. She subconsciously looked at Tyler’s face. Although his smile hadn’t faded, she could still detect a trace of unhappiness. However, he wasn’t unhappy because Ophelia had taken a new mate. Rather, he was recalling how the Princess had been forced to agree to become mates with Klein just to save him. He blamed himself; if it weren’t for him, the Princess would never have been subjected to another’s control.

Seeing that Tyler was overthinking things, Ophelia reached out and squeezed his hand to comfort him. Tyler turned his head, gave a faint smile, and gently shook his head.

Watching their intimate interaction, a flash of disappointment crossed Klein’s eyes. But he quickly pulled himself together. He believed that with enough time, Ophelia would definitely fall for him. Since she could become mates with Zerev, she could become mates with him too. He had both confidence and plenty of patience.

"How did you become mates with the White Tiger King? Why haven’t I ever heard you mention it?" Rebecca asked, somewhat surprised.

Leon, the Golden Dragon Clan Leader, wasn’t as naive as his mate. His eyes turned icy. "He threatened you."

Though he spoke to Ophelia, his eyes remained fixed on Klein. Klein showed no fear whatsoever. He stood perfectly calm, allowing the older man to scrutinize him at will.

"No, Father," Ophelia replied. "It’s just that the situation is a bit complicated. I didn’t know how to explain it to you, which is why I haven’t said anything. I haven’t officially mated with Klein yet; we only have a verbal agreement."

"That’s good. You already have two mates, so there’s no need to rush into taking another," Leon said. "Tyler has been by your side for so long; you should give him a child as soon as possible."

Leon had watched Tyler grow up, so he harbored a special affection for him. Since Tyler had always possessed a non-competitive and unassuming nature, Leon felt it was incredibly unfair to him when his daughter had given birth to cubs for the latecomer, Zerev. He had thought that with Zerev gone, his daughter could finally have cubs with Tyler. But now, with Klein suddenly popping up, Leon felt deeply aggrieved on Tyler’s behalf.

Being pressured to have a child in public left Ophelia feeling quite awkward. She was utterly speechless.

Seeing that his daughter didn’t express her stance directly, Leon assumed she was silently refusing. His face instantly turned frosty. "Ophelia, unless you give birth to a litter of cubs for Tyler, I won’t allow you to take any other male as a mate. Otherwise, I will disown you!"

Seeing how deadly serious Leon was, Ali couldn’t help but speak out against the injustice for her brother. "Uncle Leon, my brother truly loves her! For her sake, he even gave up his..."

"Ali, stop. Don’t say another word," Klein interrupted, stopping her from finishing her sentence.

But Leon already understood that his daughter had a compelling, unavoidable reason for agreeing to mate with Klein. He glanced at the crowd that hadn’t yet gone far and narrowed his eyes. "Come back with me."

Seeing that the truth couldn’t be hidden any longer, Ophelia prepared to confess to her father once they returned to the Fuzu Tribe. But before she could speak, Tyler took the initiative to shoulder the blame.

"Clan Leader, don’t blame the Princess for this. It’s entirely my fault that she agreed to become mates with Klein."

"What exactly is going on? Explain yourselves clearly," Leon demanded. "If you don’t make this clear, don’t even think about mating."

"Let me explain," Klein stepped forward. His expression was calm, completely devoid of the guilt of a wrongdoer. "When Tyler was injured, he needed a kidney to survive. I traded one of my kidneys with Ophelia. I saved Tyler’s life, and in return, she would become my mate."

Leon’s brows furrowed tightly. He never expected this to be the reason. For a moment, he didn’t know how to respond.

Klein wasn’t in a hurry. He simply, unhurriedly, pulled the animal skin skirt at his waist down a few inches. A long, stark scar ran across his lean, eight-pack abs.

Upon seeing the scar, a wave of shame washed over Leon. Klein had sacrificed a kidney to become his daughter’s mate and had saved Tyler’s life in the process. Leon truly didn’t have the face to stop them anymore. Yet, his heart ached at the thought of his daughter being forced to mate with a male she didn’t like.

When Rebecca saw the scar on Klein’s abdomen, she let out a gasp. "Oh my, such a long scar... That must have hurt so much."

"Extracting the kidney almost cost my brother his life!" Ali quickly chimed in.

"Uncle Leon, Aunt Rebecca, my brother truly loves her. Otherwise, he would never have made such a massive sacrifice.

"I can promise that he will cherish and protect her well.

"Please, just honor his sincere feelings, okay?" Ali pleaded, half-coaxing and half-promising.

Rebecca had always been an emotional person. Learning that Klein had made such an immense sacrifice for her daughter, tears streamed down her face. "Oh, you... just look at this..."

Leon let out a heavy sigh. "You guys handle it yourselves. Do as you see fit. But I have only one condition. Klein, you cannot force Ophelia to mate with you."

"Ah? That’s way too unfair!" Ali couldn’t help but cry out.

Klein, however, spoke with solemn sincerity. "Alright. I promise you."
