Chapter 162: Chapter 162: System Mall Unlocks Cold Weapons

No one present expected Klein to actually agree to Leon’s request.

"Brother, how could you agree?" Ali couldn’t understand. Ophelia had never liked her brother to begin with. If he didn’t confirm his partnership with her soon, who could guarantee there wouldn’t be unexpected changes?

Klein knew his sister was worried about him, but since he had dared to agree, he was already prepared. Besides, he never intended to force Ophelia into a partnership.

Ali didn’t know what to say, and the room fell silent for a moment. Seeing the atmosphere become too stiff, she hurriedly changed the subject. She took Laxus’s hand, walked up to Klein, and blushed. "Brother, I like Laxus. I want to become partners with him."

Afraid that Klein would refuse, she quickly added, "Brother, whether you agree or not, I’m going to be his partner. I just like him."

Hearing Ali’s absolute determination, Klein lowered his gaze to look at Laxus, seeing a solemn expression on the other man’s face.

Suddenly, he smiled. "What are you so nervous for? Did I say I disagree?"

Ali beamed with joy. "Does that mean you agree, Brother?"

"Whether I agree or not isn’t important. What matters is whether he can give you a good life."

"I will prove it to you," Laxus promised solemnly.

Seeing the conversation drifting further away, Tyler stepped forward. "Today is the cubs’ one-month celebration. They should be the main characters today. We can talk about everything else another day."

"Yes, yes. It’s getting late, and the cubs are hungry. Let’s eat," Rebecca chimed in, rubbing her belly as she looked at her partner.

Leon let out a helpless sigh. "I’ll... I’ll go make dinner."

The other males followed him out of the stone house. However, Klein didn’t go out. Instead, he stayed in the room, observing the three little dragon cubs. The cubs were much larger than when he had first seen them in the White Tiger Clan. He noticed something unusual about them.

"Their father is Zerev. They aren’t Golden Dragon cubs," Klein stated.

Ophelia hadn’t expected Klein to see the difference in the dragon cubs with just a single glance. She instinctively wanted to retort, but Klein spoke first to stop her.

"Don’t worry. Since we’re partners, I won’t do anything to hurt you.

"I’ve been to the Holy Capital and seen Winged Dragon cubs. Since you don’t want anyone to know their secret, I simply won’t say a word."

Hearing Klein say this, Ophelia didn’t explain further and looked at him gratefully. "Thank you."

"We’re partners. There’s no need to say thank you."

After the family had dinner, Leon took Rebecca back to the Golden Dragon Clan while there was still some light in the sky. Laxus also escorted Ali back to the singles’ dormitory.

For a moment, only three adults and three cubs remained in the room. The second cub, Dan’er, and the third, Wendy, were drowsy after eating and drinking their fill. Only the eldest, Kohen, kept his deep blue eyes fixed on the three adults, who were exchanging awkward glances.

Ophelia rubbed her nose and let out a light cough. "Um, Klein, you can sleep on the third floor with Tyler tonight.

"You came so suddenly, and we didn’t prepare anything."

Klein raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What did you want to prepare for me?"

"N-nothing really." She had just been polite; she didn’t expect Klein to actually take it seriously.

Seeing her flustered little expression, Klein patted her head with his large hand and chuckled. "Relax, I’ve already prepared everything. You don’t need to worry."

Realizing she was being teased, Ophelia shot Klein a slightly angry glare.

Being glared at by her only stirred a fiery heat in Klein’s chest. His voice deepened. "Even though we can’t formally become partners right now, can I still sleep in your room tonight?"

Ophelia choked on her own saliva. She hadn’t misheard, had she? Was Klein really being this forward right off the bat?

Klein leaned in close to Ophelia, his warm breath searing her delicate ear, sending a ticklish sensation through it.

"Your father won’t let me become your partner right now, and you still want to refuse to let me stay with you.

"Don’t you think that’s a bit too cruel?" A hint of grievance appeared on the normally aloof and serious male’s handsome face.

If he had forcefully demanded it, Ophelia could have refused. But putting on this pitiful act left her completely at a loss on how to turn him down. Realizing he had grasped her weakness, Klein continued to play the victim.

"Ophelia, in order to come to the Fu Clan, I spent days dealing with tribal affairs, and then I traveled day and night without stopping, rushing here in just five days.

"I worked so hard. Are you sure you don’t want to reward me?"

Ophelia thought to herself, "It’s not like I forced you to come." But saying that out loud would be burning bridges a bit too mercilessly, so she could only keep it to herself.

Verbally, she still feigned concern. "In that case, you need to get a good rest tonight even more.

"I toss and turn in my sleep. I’m afraid I’ll disturb you."

Klein pulled her into his arms. "I’m not afraid."

Seeing that she couldn’t persuade him no matter what, Ophelia looked helplessly at Tyler.

Tyler chuckled at her conflicted little expression. "I’ll take the cubs to sleep tonight."

Since even Tyler said so, Ophelia knew there was no escaping it. So, after washing up, the two went into the room to rest. Fortunately, Klein knew his limits and didn’t force Ophelia into doing anything. Seeing him behave so respectfully, she gradually let down her guard and drifted off to sleep.

Once the female beside him was breathing evenly, Klein slowly opened his eyes. He turned his head to gaze at Ophelia, a smile curving the corners of his lips. Traveling day and night, he had forced a ten-day journey down to just five days. Now, seeing the little female’s beautiful sleeping face, all of his exhaustion melted away. It made everything feel worth it.

Klein’s arrival didn’t affect Ophelia’s plans.

One day, while Klein went out hunting in the forest, Ophelia instructed Tyler to cover for her as she secretly entered her spatial dimension.

Upgrading the Farm Space from Level 7 to Level 8 required two million points, and upgrading from Level 8 to Level 9 required five million points. Ophelia currently had enough Crystal Stones on hand to exchange for five million points, so she chose to upgrade the Farm Space straight to Level 9.

Upon reaching Level 9, the area of the Farm Space didn’t expand. Instead, the System Mall received an upgrade. Ophelia browsed through the mall and discovered that cold weapons and weapon blueprints had been unlocked. It had everything—swords, spears, blades, and halberds. Even a small dagger inside could slice through solid iron like butter.

With these cold weapons for protection, even a female could put up a fight against a male.

Looking at these weapons, Ophelia was reminded of the place where Zerev had grown up—the Holy Capital. If she had these cold weapons on hand, even if the Holy Capital discovered her and the dragon cubs’ existence, they would have to think twice before trying to harm them.

Ophelia bought a bow and arrows from the System Mall. These arrows were different from the ones used by the Mountain Goat Clan, which were made entirely of wood. The arrowheads for this bow were made of iron, gleaming with a cold metallic light under the sun.

Ophelia drew the bow and shot an arrow at an apple tree in the distance. The arrow pierced right into the trunk. When she went over to inspect it, she found it had embedded deeply into the wood. The power was incredible. If this arrow were shot at a male, even with their thick, tough skin, it would be enough to leave him reeling.

With the cold weapons, the worry in Ophelia’s heart dissipated, though she was still somewhat concerned about Zerev’s situation. But worrying was useless. All she could do was go up the mountain with Tyler every day to "search" for medicinal herbs.

Once the herbs were gathered, she began making new batches of trauma medicine and cold medicine. Because the market had opened up, Ophelia’s medicines were now in exceedingly high demand, with supply barely keeping up.
